🚀 Hey there, future grad students! It's Brian from Gurufi, back with another insider's guide to help you on your grad school journey! 🚀 Today, I'm taking you behind the scenes of graduate school admissions committees to reveal the TRUTH about how they evaluate applicants like you.
You've worked hard to get those impressive grades and test scores, but how do they REALLY factor into the admissions process? 🤔 Well, I've got some eye-opening news: grades and test scores are only the TIP of the iceberg! 🧊 In this video, we're diving deep into the ways admissions committees use these numbers to weed out applicants and how they ultimately view your application holistically.
💯 Grades and Test Scores: The First Hurdle Grades and test scores are undoubtedly important, but they're not the end-all and be-all of your application. They serve as the initial filter for admissions committees, who use them to narrow down the pool of applicants. So, while having solid numbers can be a valuable asset, it's essential not to solely rely on them to secure your spot in a prestigious grad program.
📉 Weeding Out Applicants The admissions process is competitive, and committees often receive far more applications than they can accept. This video will shed light on how these committees use a combination of your GPA and test scores to identify applicants who meet their minimum qualifications. However, once you're past that initial threshold, things start to get a lot more interesting! 🎉
🌟 The Holistic Review Process: What REALLY Matters Once you've cleared the initial "grades and test scores" hurdle, admissions committees begin to evaluate your application holistically. This means they take into consideration your research experience, internships, volunteer work, leadership roles, personal statement, letters of recommendation, and more! In this video, we'll explore how each of these factors can significantly impact your chances of admission, and why they matter even more than your grades and test scores. 🌟
💪 Tips for Maximizing Your Application's Chances of Success Finally, we'll share some insider tips and strategies to help you create a well-rounded, compelling application that stands out from the competition. From crafting a powerful personal statement to showcasing your unique experiences and skills, this video will give you the tools you need to make your grad school dreams a reality! 🎓

    Dear Prof. Brian,
I will like to know if it still makes sense to contact a prospective after the submission of application. I wanted to that before submission, but the graduate coordinator for the programme of interest made me realise that there's no need for that....

What does it mean when you receive a letter from you program committee indicating that they have recommended you for admission to the Graduate school.
And in the letter they sent they gave specific details about the number of credits you will complete to graduate from the program with dates of orientation and also your UID number.
