Will Always Be A Fan of this Band spent alot of my younger years in and out of Hospitals when I was 8 my uncles gave me their Beatle collection and record player Music was my Escape I had to have major sugery at 15 as soon as I could heel My Brother took me to my Very first concert Head East 1978 the album with arrows on it that concert affected me I had found my place a fan setting or standing at a Rock concert to this day I am closing in on 700 concerts I got to see Head East a bunch Espeacially when some Good Friends were members of Band 1987 I got to know Rodger lot of Fun!
A lot of bands can eventually record good vocal harmonies in the studio. But when you hear groups like Head East do THAT live, you know you're listening to some fantastic singers. What a great blend.
Saw Head East 3 times back in the late 70s. Some bar in Highwood IL, Aragon Ballroom in Chicago and an Indoor Venue in E.Troy WI. Each time they did this song, the Crowds went Crazy. Don't understand why they weren't as big as Styx or REO or Cheap Trick. Their Musicianship was just as good as those other bands and No One could touch Schlitt vocally. Always a good show.
As from the mid 70's and 80's great rockbands were founded and Head East is one of my favourites especially due to their live performances. As being in Holland never been able to see them alive and its a pity that there are no live footage available. and since I have just been retired its great fun in playing all these records now again . This Head East Live album as I may say is one of the best and also the sound is absolutely great if you consider its from 1979 and i have live albums which concerning the sound cannot compete with this one. Its a pleasure listening again and remember the great days of rock.
The use of 4 part vocal harmony was very rare in rock 'n roll, and Head East were masters of the style. The Doobie Brothers may have been the only other band that relied upon such deep vocal harmonies. Musically, they were as good as a band could be in that era. There wasn't a dud musician in the bunch. Who doesn't miss this kind of vocal capabilities in a rock show? I know I do.
Saw Head East open for the Minute By Minute , Doobie Brothers tour at the Chicago Stadium. Head East was more of the rock band at that juncture with the absence of Tom Johnston in the Doobies and the Lounge Singer Michael McDonald in his place. Head East was as good live as their studio albums. Saw them originally in the Mid 70's somewhere near Effingham, IL I believe. (Eastern Illinois student). Ahhh time goes by so fast.
IN the spring of 1975 Ted Nugent played my high school in St. Louis MO before he really achieved acclaim as a solo act.. Head East was the opening act. After that they got the proper airplay on KSHE 95 in STL. The thing was was that originally Styx was supposed to be the headliner. Loved the band .
ROCK AND ROLLL!!! I GOT TO HEAD EAST!! TURN UP THE STEREO AND COME SET ME SUGAR! OH YEAH! THESE GUYS ARE ONE OF THE BEST LIVE SHOWS I WAS LUCY ENOUGH TO SEE AN THEY MADE THE SCENE!
This album is on my top 10. I love the song "Every Little Bit Of My Heart" from this album. Saw them live and they were fantastic. Too bad there is not much bideo of them.
I''d settle for a CD if I could find one....just load it on a computer, then re-record in the right order onto another CD..I had the Album when it came out in 79,..got to see then in the UP of Mich. in 1980....one of the best shows I've ever seen...played for almost 3 hours..
I'm curious how you got away with this. Every song I uploaded from this album was blocked by the copyright owners. Since then, almost every one of my Head East uploads have been blocked one after another. At any rate, a legitimate release of this has finally been made available in the U.S. as of last Tuesday.
head east uses their original style, of course, the chord structures blend very well , modulating, the minor 7ths the 2 and a half step chord from original key of song, harmonizing and unique organ sounds makes that band. High school lunch break, we literally wore out the 8 tracks...as the dragging, etc...I play guitar.and I love to play their songs...Magnificent! Russell r.
Yeah, I have this album on vinyl, but then I found it on CD and it wasn't even the same. A totally different package, even though the songs were the same. The songs were all arranged out of order. In fact, Never Been Any Reason was the first song on the CD, so it sounded pretty silly when the lead singer said, "Are you still with me"? Like DUH!!!!
One of the best live albums ever put out by a rock band.

The Original Head East from the Mid to Late 70s put out 5 Awesome Studio Albums. I recommend buying all 5, plus the Live Album.
I sit down to jam to this tune, it just sent chills up my spine I had to turn it up!!

Uriah Heep was at the top of the game as far as vocal harmonies. Best ever IMO.
You are very welcome! This version is from Vinyl! What a great Band they were!!!

Wonderful rock n show. You and me and a bottle of wine.
Jefftown Creek is a homage to a creek in Jefferson County, Illinois, near Cravat. I live about 5 miles from there.
That scream. That scream. One of the best screams in a rock'n'roll song...ever.
He still does it!
Roger Boyd, the keyboardist. Also my little league coach many, many years ago. Shout out to the band from Carlyle. RIP Steve and hi Stanley.
