I'm not hating on anyone who has their own opinion on this song. The way that Kellin is singing is obviously what MGK was looking for. I think that it sounds really good together. Kellin and MGK are very unique in their own ways and that's what makes this collab such a good song. I just never realized how awful it was to be different. I think I would rather be unique than be like everyone else.

+Justin Bennett A bit late to the party but: I am a massive Rise Against fan myself and I find MGKs cover amazing. Their take has such a unique feel to it and covers are always better when the artist makes it their own. IF any RA fans hate on this cover they clearly are not proper fans. The music is not about the name of the artist. The music is about the feeling.

Guess i'm going to be the odd one out and say that:
1) I love both Kellin (vocals, his band, the genre of music he's in, etc.), and also MGK.
2) This "cover" (really the only covered part is the chorus and tune, so is it really a cover?) is really awesome and I like it just as much as the original by Rise Against.
3) I don't think it is a disrespect to Rise Against to be rapping over the tune or having Kellin changing up the vocal style a bit.
I mean jeez, practically no one is satisfied completely with this song.
Summer Hartley I think technically they had to call it a cover because of the fact that the tune and the chorus so closely resemble the original song. Remember the song Gasolina? Probably not and if you don't that's ok. But the group that did that song ran into some legal issues because either the beat or something in the chorus closely resembled another song. So I think it's a legality thing.

Machine Gun Kelly is liberation from music boundaries. Not many artists can make great rap music while recognizing other genres. I truly believe Machine Gun Kelly is the next evolution of rap. We see it with Chance The Rapper. Granted his music is different, but they are molding sounds from other genres. I want to hear rap over the piano, a saxophone, a guitar, and live drums. To me, that's real music. Who cares about what someone created on their computer. This is real..
