Frederik Rabe _really_ nailed the introduction. I finally was able play the song with the volume up high enough to hear that undertone of grit in his voice. Chef's kiss. The instrumentalists, too. I could go on and on and on about how well-done so many things are. And Henning May went IN. This is one of the very few (maybe even sole) instances where I actually like a cover of a song, let alone like said cover _more_ than the original (though Suzanne Vega is an incomparable artist whose original will also forever be immortalized as the benchmark for the MP3). Well done to all, and a huge thanks to Vega for letting AnnenMayKantereit x Giant Rooks take the wheel for their own spin!

I don’t know how y’all did… My wife and I have been singing this song at our restaurant since we heard it. It’s so weird seeing it blow up now like it has but great at the same time. We have gotten to being back an old song we are so familiar with and the younger folks go nuts over it. If this surprises you, you’d be blown away at the other stuff people ask for lol.

This is crazy-good. Both voices are just astonishing. What blows me away the most, though, is that English isn't their first language. You'd never know it. Such talent!

Look up “vermissen”. It’s a song Henning May did with Juju, they sound so good together. He can rap too :) I think his vocals can compliment a lot of different styles.

I'm hypnotized by the first guy's voice. It's totally unique, I've never heard anything like it, and I've been around for a while. When the second guy started singing, I was looking around for an old, black, blues singer! Wish I could pronounce the band's name.

The passion these guys put into this song and video is what made it. You can tell they had a blast performing this.
the first time i saw these guys was in 2014 at the musikschutzgebiet festival in homberg, germany. the whole crew of annenmaykantereit came to the campground with their instruments and started people calling over to a circle. they claimed that they are going to be on stage this evening on the festival but are not that well known, so they kinda tried to get people to their gig. i joined the session with a couple friends and we were blown away by these guys music and especially the singer.
now nine years later i am looking at this video with 92 million views. respect guys. vote this up so they can see this story, they'll probably remember this story.
