HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.
****************************************************
STEEL FOR MY FRIEND
I keep all my steel and cast iron pieces and I give them to my friend and once he gets about a tonne from me and his own collecting he takes that to the scrapyard and sells it then he buys some beer and comes over to my house and we make a night of it.
No My friend doesnât have a CZcams channel he just scraps metal in his spare time.

Nice job on the melt. Keep up the good work and I love your vids. Your doing awesome even in the times everyone is going through. So đ
love your videos bro when will you show your face haaaaaaa tellll bro
Some dejavu I did that same skull out of some tiny wire yesterday
Can you make a gaming and vlogging channel.
Please do a face reveal
There is something so satisfying about watching metal getting turned into bars.
Same here lol
I never doubted your Australianness but a literal kangaroo spotting sure confirms it

There was a baby kangaroo in a video once

Great vid, bigstack. Melting metal is so satisfying. I need to get back out there and do some metal work!
Cheers buddy appreciate that. I must admit I am slacking myself in the way of watching your Vids I am subscribed to you but itâs just so bloody hard as I do shiftwork 48 hours a week then coming home to 3 kids two dogs and trying to get a video out every Friday.
Not to worry I love the kids the dogs the videos the melting I just wish I had more spare time, anyway buddy have a great week and Iâll talk with you soonđđ»đđ»đŠđșđ»đ»

Somewhere, some old bloke is scratching head and thinking "Where'd all me flamin' copper wiring get to." Haha :)
Looks like you had a nasty storm, hope the boys weren't too scared during it.
These videos really help with my anxiety. Thanks for uploading
Puppies always help
Yea if I get really anxious for some reason watching one of his videos calms me down.
Hope your anxiety gets better, I struggle with it myself.
No worries at all guys I hope it helps even a little bit, I used to suffer when I was a kid and I can tell you it was absolutely horrible To be that young and not know how to try and control itđđ»
bigstackD Casting the crackling of the metal is soothing and the puppies make me less depressed.
I am glad to have you as a time-to-time penpal. Youâre truly a blessing in my like, friend.
That was one of your best pours in a long time! You showed it cooling off! Thank you very much. We needed an old school pour. I love the microwave and motor melts and the humor that comes along but a simple copper wire melt, cooling floating copper islands and the shiniest ingots can't be beat. STAY SHINY đ
Cheers Justin Iâm glad you appreciate the old school super simple basic melt. I will be mixing it up here and there but I can guarantee every two months or so if Iâll be doing just a big simple copper melt or brass or aluminium melt into a big shiny barđđ»đ
@@bigstackD That's great. The camera settings showing the glowing copper were perfect. All I ask is could you always show the cooling and solidifying of the metal, please? Would putting a glowing ingot on the ice ruin it somehow? That's be cool to see. Thanx âșïž
You gotta love those puppers. Came for the melting, stayed for the dogs. Lol.
I've never noticed copper swirl like that in a crucible. That's pretty neat.
It's really nice how you keep the eyes and nose of the skulls untouched, so they stay black like in a traditional skull. You always get some fine pieces from copper. Cheers from Argentina đ

Definitely one of the easiest subs I've clicked on, not only does this guy do some amazing work but also takes the time to go through all of his comments and reply to a lot of them shows how much he enjoys doing this sort of stuff! Hope all is well with that storm! I'll be watching my phone for the next vid!
I want to buy that bar. The best youâve casted in my opinion
agree
Definately a beaut.
Whole heartedly agree. This one had not even the slightest blemish. So many of the other have pock marks or impurities even, which I just dont get. Maybe poor purity of material to begin with? Even the skull coins were such a beauty
@@shri19 Probably Copper(II) oxide impurity, which was mostly avoided here because the cable was sheathed.
All is well down under, and ingot & bullion are taking good care of there hoomans đđđ„đ
If i had that wire stripper I would strip every extension cord in my house for fun
Me to I have a roll of 16 gage somewhere that would be so cool to strip
Oi. You're so much better at all of this than when you started. When you started you were like an experienced hobbiest. Now you're a straight up ingot professional. Props man.
Cheers brođđ»đ
Must have been a heck of a storm to knock all of the tree limbs down. Loved the walk and seeing the roo and everything. Beautiful bar, the rough back gives it character and looks good. Be safe and canât wait till your next video comes out. Cheers đ»
Cheers James yes the storm we had Was pretty brutal but probably nowhere near the storms they get in the states either way It did knock down trees everywhere and took out fences and sheds which is a shame but Iâm always interested in the power the environment can bring in an instance noticeđđ»đđ»
Hey D, how have you been? I like the new skull mold. When you were putting the skulls in the water I was really surprised at the amount of heat the two tiny pieces of copper had when they touched the water.
Anyways, great job with everything and as far as leaving the bottom of the ingot natural, that's almost like a trademark of yours. IMO...you the man! â€â
Something about your copper vids is just Soo satisfying
I copperetely agree
The brick and skull molds came out beautifully...and man that collection is something else đ€©đ€©
The most ASMR thing in this video is the cable stripping at the beginning. Another great product from bigstackD!
Would you quit shopping for more beer and call me already đ€Ł what was the shirt you were wearing at the end? That looks familiar đ€ great vid brotha! đ»đ»
Wizard 8D Audio apparently you donât watch my videos đ€Šđ»ââïž when youâre done saying stupid shit let me know
I thought he was a ripoff channel, until i learned that StackD likes him. So authorized ripoffs aren't ripoffs!
Didn't adrock make the stamp for him?
@ArtByAdrock Looks like a Vegas Golden Knight Shirt
Love that reflection you put on the bars. The skulls look great. I like they still have the dark eyes and nose. That unfinished side is cool too. It's like ying/yang when you have a perfect side and imperfect side. Thinking to pick up melting myself as well.
I have worked in a copper smelter for the last 13 years and i still love watching this stuff. We test our copper batches by making sample bars like the bars you have and i still love watching liquid metal
The sound that the copper makes is Lovely!
When i see any copper nearby me.,, i think to melt it đđđ

Oh snap! Another giveaway!!! Canât wait to see whatâs up for this one! I love the snap, crackle, pop sounds of the molten copper. đ
Ingot and Bullion are just as cute as ever! Thatâs so cool how you saw a kangaroo on your walk!!!
Cheers babeđ». I walk the dogs every morning and every night and I reckon I would see a kangaroo probably half the time if not more, I just donât film it because if I start trying to film every think I do itâs just gonna be too overwhelming but I thought this time I would throw the kangaroo In there only because it was a very close before but I didnât have my camera ready Which is a shame because it was right next to the path but theyâre pretty scared and they do take off as soon as They see us.
Anyway Chelsea cheers for the continual support and ongoing comments I really do appreciate it , Sorry I donât jump on every comment you leave but I get hundreds everyday so itâs impossible for me to see them all take care BSafe talk soonđđ»đđ»đ»
Those đ skulls molds were awesome
Beautiful shineys, they polish up good, such dangerous and beautiful art work. Thank you for posting these vids. I love your dogs x
Ingot was like "what's that hoppy thing, can we melt it?" Enjoyed the video as usually happy days!!
"A little left over" makes 6 more skull shaped bullions.
I like the copper bar unfinished on the one side - gives it some âcharacterâđđŒ
I just finally bought my whole set. I cant wait to get started. Your vids just gave me my new hobby brother. Cheers đ€

And then there's nothing like watching it casted into a beautiful ingot/coin/awesome thing.

Amazing & super hard working of melting copper.

Love your videos man! I'm impressed wit the amount of tools you have! May I ask a question? What is the reason you choose one crucible or another? Is it because of the capacity? Because of the material you are melting? Thanks! Greetings from Spain!
Same question. And why so many?
What a beautiful bar! Also happy dog at the end makes me happy. :D
Love the copper skulls!! Nice vid bro! Cheers!
I wanna see what a glowing orange-hot bar straight from the mold does to the ice block!

Well that makes you my new best friend, I release a video every Friday West Australian time and I have well over 250 videos so be sure to go back on my videos check the thumbnails and if it looks like something youâre interested in click away my friend and welcome aboardđđ»đ.
(edit:I accidentally made a list of ideas from basic and quick to difficult and complex, I hope you find a suitable idea amongst this collection of imaginative thoughts)
When it comes to ingot aesthetics, I suggest, based only on what looks best, that you polish every face except the ends of the ingots, it would be interested if you did that, or maybe only the front and back get polished, I think it would look cool.
Edit:
I just got a good idea, what if you polished the front and back, and then did crossing 45° diagonal of ground and maybe lightly polished lines for xs and diamonds around the sides of the ingots? In fact, I think it would be cool if you did thin lines of course polishing on the front and back that do the same cris crossing pattern as the lines on the sides so you get thin lines of blurry copper on the front and the back. I imagine you could use tape with gaps in between as a way to get very nice looking lines. You may like doing near polished front and back with well polished criss crossing lines going through it, and I imagine that the front and back would get stretched square diamonds while the edges would get square criss crossing squares instead. The absolute hardest and most rewarding would be if each line on the sides met with the lines of the front and back, but ingot dimensions might not allow for that. What do you think?
OMG i love the skulls!
untouched back is terrific!!
where did you get your custom stamp?
I got my custom stamp from etsy.com
Just get on there and type in custom steel stamp and youâll get a whole heap of people that can do it I donât remember exactly who did mine but it cost me $230 AUD delivered. I thought it was super expensive at the time but it is still as good as new and Iâve used it probably 200 times
I always enjoy your videos. Cute pups.
Copper and aluminum are gorgeous metals when in liquid form. Awesome vid.
I'd say just touch up the bottom of the ingot a little, doesn't need to be polished. Very nice bar either wayđ
You should clean the back just like the front
Your' video's are addictive and so well put together! Really fantastic, love watching them! Amazing video my friend!
