Fires and other emergencies the first responders go out to are scary, especially for kids. The bears are to give to the little guys when their young lives are disrupted by calamities. Nice, huh? And the donors are to be thanked for giving them to the station so there's a good supply to give.

If there is asbestos in that building, it would be in the linoleum and the pipes leading to the furnace. I really hope they re-used or sold the furniture and equipment before they tore it down. It sure doesn’t look like it needed to be torn down. Thanks for my first tour of an abandoned fire station!
Kind of weird this place is going to be demolished; I mean, it must have just recently become vacated, as it still has power, and there's a lot of stuff that would have to be removed before demolition could begin. Nice video, another cool explore. Thanks Carlo, for all you do. By the way, it looked to me as if the door you went through to where the power supply boxes/circuit breakers were, had been broken into; the area near the knob was all cracked, as if the door had been forcibly opened. I smashed that like button, too :)
I doubt this place will be demolished. It looks like it was built in the early 2000's at the latest... stainless steel kitchen, full sized data/server room, intergrated wifi, modern lockers, handicap accessibility. I think he may have his facts wrong on this one. If this place gets destroyed the taxpayers in that community should be outraged!

They would not just demolish a building, it looks perfect! And modern. I am sure the issue is a gas leak, or something that cannot be fixed.

This place looks rather new! I wonder why they abandoned it.
It looks more like cellulose insulation, rather than asbestos. That tower is for hanging and drying the hoses.

This place is new!
I had a school friend die because of asbestos. He never went near it but his dad worked alongside it. He was only in his late 20s. He did receive compensation but died before he could use it. Asbestos is not to be messed with guys 💋 xx

Good job protecting the location! I think the tower was for drying out houses hard hats required because if one of those hose couplings were to fall it would be a headache for sure also the spray on fireproofing may not be asbestos. It could be something like spray on cement and or gypsum

This place looks new what is this city rich and have money to waste. What a waste you know how many city would die for this fire station. If I live there and was paying taxes I would be going crazy.

Too many injuries. Most modern fire stations don't have them anymore
@@jpatt85 They're starting to make a comeback, but they took a hit for quite a while. Also, fewer multistory stations these days.
@@jreese46 You're right. Just saw a brand new fire station in an Atlanta suburb. They have a pole. I would think it's just for show tho. I've heard many stories of men waking up with their arm still sleep, totally miss the pole and fall to the bottom...
Also one neck injury from a man landing on top of somebody. Hard to believe they'd bring something back like that.

This is not an "abandoned" fire station. Oakville built a new larger modern fire station literally 4 blocks down on the same street and was in the process of moving when you filmed this. You were trespassing and are lucky you did not run into any of the Chiefs or town employees while you were there.
Yup, these dudes are real lucky Chief or Cap didn't show up. My station calls on Oakville for mutual aid all the time.
