- We're revisiting a late 90s / early 00s classic, and we have questions. Is this show outdated or timeless? Are we Carries? Mirandas? Charlottes? Samanthas? Or just the ladies who watch at home?

I can’t believe we used to think Big was charming 😂
It was a different time! 😅 But SERIOUSLY, watching this now was such a different experience
@@cringewatchparty I like it for the nostalgia but I cringe when I think about how much I used to identify with these relationships (the toxic ones). I also used to smoke and have a Cosmo while watching bc ✨Carrie✨ I thought I was so chic. Thankfully that habit died quickly.
whose we I never licked the character 😉
I started watching SATC as a 13 year old, while it was on. Re-watching as a 34 year old...i'm like dear god, this is not romantic...it's a cautionary tale!
😂🤣 When he rolls up in the car and is like, get in! And she doesn't even know him! Different times, I guess
I've been dying for someone to react to SATC, this made my day!
Yay, thanks for watching! This comment made our days! It does seem talked about way less than you might expect, huh?
@@cringewatchparty Of course, great reaction as always! And yeah, though given that it just got released on Netflix I assume a lot of people are getting (back?) into it, at least that was the case for me. Grew up with the show as a cultural staple but didn't actually sit down and watch until this year.
Yessss the part about the women being so hot and men just being boring and 2 decades older always made me so uncomfortable and sad and scared about my future loool
This show definitely represents a specific slice of dating in NYC 😅
Please do more of SATC!!
So glad you liked it! The pilot was oddly still so relevant, do you think the rest of the episodes will feel as relatable?
@@cringewatchparty YES. I like your chicken-or-egg take on this retrospective! Please serialize 🙏🏾💕
5:22 I miss Stanford too. His voice sounded the same in White Collar!
💕 Awww he was so good in everything he did! He's so funny in this SATC pilot. In White Collar, he got to be a geeky and cool international con man of mystery 😎 so different!
13:52 Over the years I have thought this too. That in a way it’s quite depressing how much the emphasis in characterization at times is put on who they date or sleep with. You lose a lot of the individual with that approach.
Also was that the same guy with Charlotte and Samantha?
Yes!! Same guy!
Reviews! Yes, please. Just subbed. Love your take.
Yay, we're glad you're here! Are you a SATC fan?
9:13 That’s where this was a product of the time. So it didn’t bother me as much. What bothered me was that line Carrie had about when Samantha was gonna try to get with Big that night and she described Samantha as having a “deluded kind of self-confidence”
Totally fair. We don't really get the friendship vibes in this pilot, it's more a zero sum game called "get that man!" 😂
I loved the shit out of this watch.
You two are the best.
*You* are the best for leaving such a kind comment 💖 Glad you enjoyed the video! Should we watch more SATC?
3:55 yes she did, she realized the game was horrible and started dating the love of her life after her fantasy husband turned out to be an illusion
That's true, she eventually does! And finds love awwwww
@@cringewatchparty yes!!!, I really love her story arc, it's my favorite out of all the sex and the city girls
Awful then awful now
It was a rougher watch than we expected initially! Were you ever a fan?
Cant tell whether this is a parody or you are being serious...
Also, how old are you? Difficult to tell woth the disguise 🥸
We are unironically reacting to media! And also are ageless monsters of the depths! Thanks!
