- This Is When Hillary B Smith(Nora, OLTL) won her Daytime Emmy Award Back In 1994. Its such a shame that she hasn't been recognized since then because she's AMAZING!! And she's SO been ROBBEd. This is the reason why. lol

Fully deserved for Hillary B. Smith. I had chills during that episode. She is amazing!
She's one of the most under rated actresses in daytime. There have been so many times I've thought she's been ROBBED. Its really a travesty that she's only won once and been nominated only one other time. Makes no sense to me. Hillary's AMAZING!!
She was on a kooky show that's why. OLTL was often overlooked because of its over the top camp and of course it's hard to get nominated when you are competing with Erika Sleazak and KDP for prenoms, not that she's not better than the latter and even Robin Strasser. And voters started snubbing Erika like crazy because she always won. If there were not 8 nominations in 05 she would have only five Emmys. That Emmy probably goes to Susan Flannery who ties her.
This was the period of time when it was a JOY to watch the emmys where they actually showed a fuc-ing clip of a nominee. Imagine that! And the nominees back then were truly leading ladies and gentlemen. Today's nominees leave me scratching my head. Daytime is already well behind its glory days.
I think Victoria Wyndham should have been nominated that year she did very well Rachel and Carl from Another World. Linda was very great

That was a great year for OLTL.
They won 4 well deserved Daytime Emmys that night. Too bad they didn't win for best show to go along with winning Best writing, but that tends to happen.

Amazing to think of those wonderful actors bringing Llanview to life for so many years in a dingy little windowless basement studio in New York City! Your blood sweat and tears won't be forgotten by your audiences!
Fiona Hutchison was AMAZING as Jenna Bradshaw on GL...watching that scene with her and Roger Thorpe gave me chills...Hillary B. Smith was wonderful that year....I think that was the year Todd terrorized her at the beach house when she was blind too--just chilling...it's a shame Hillary hasn't won since
Love, love, love it at 2:32 where you can see my DARLING Kathryn Hays from ATWT -- ANOTHER actress that was never honored for her amazing work in the 70's, 80's, and 90's -- that is when this show wasn't afraid to have an "older" actress in FRONT of the camera as it just might scare off an 18 year old air head viewer. I also didn't realize Miss Widdoes (another great actress) was ever nomintaed in the lead role. Her performances on ATWT were simply magnificent also!
KH was in her late 50s here. Currently almost 70 year old MTS is front burner and I'm sure Laura Wright isn't going to the bb anytime soon.

Back when daytime television was decent. Now you can count the number of soaps on one hand!
I miss Another World so bad. And Guiding Light as well. I think NBC picked the wrong show. Another World should still be here
As a major Julia Barr fan, I thought Hillary B. Smith deserved the win. She was REMARKABLE.

I was shocked she wasn't even NOMINATED the year that she found out the truth about Daniel Coulson... I was SURE that scene of her confronting him as he was being sworn in (after just realizing he'd killed Jen) was going to clinch the Emmy. Not EVEN a nom. What a waste!!
At that time it was no surprise given OLTL quality. It stood out way different than any of the other soaps lighting wise. It only really beat the NBC soaps at the time. Also, someone did get a nomination for that year and won for OLTL. I do not need to even say her name.
