Some of these hardwoods like the cherry you might be able to get more value from the cutoffs by selling it as smoker chunks rather than firewood in smaller bags.
Great video Mark Eddie and Mark. It was really awesome to see the short cherry logs dawn into beautiful woodworking lumber! Thank you for adding the edging episode at the end! You really got some outstanding project lumber from those logs. It is amazing how effective that log sealer product really is. It totally prevented end checking and staining and kept the lumber looking nice and fresh. Wonderful sawing video!
I love our cherry cabinets. They've aged beautifully over 17 years. Hope to see something just as pretty from your boards, Mark. Thanks, guys. Keep up the great work.
My bedroom suite is made out of Cherry Wood and it still looks great after 40+ years of service !! Keep up this GREAT channel, guys !! There's something quite relaxing watching y'all saw those logs !!
Nice set up you guys have there, you might want to consider getting some stone brought in for the loading area. A wheeled skid steer doesnt do well in soft wet dirt, although yours has nice rubber on it and that helps
Hello From Fort Myers FL..Hurricane Central for IAN. Watching these video helps to improve my mood. Beautiful job guys. Lots of people around here could use lots of your lumbar... Carry on guys!
I really enjoy watching you men sawing wood and enjoying your work. It is very entertaining and bring back memories of going to the sawmill to buy lumber and slabs for firewood. Thank you
Great song! Also, it's nice to see the good and the bad logs. It reminds me of shucking Indian corn, which we sell a lot of in the fall. You never know if you've got a treasure or a dud until you open it up.
I worked right behind an edger, and if ever the the edgerman was out for any reason I would get to step up and run the edger. For this reason I really love watching an edger work. Thanks for the great video Mark, and hello to Eddie and ZZ Mark
I do too, lightweight and strong, it is easy to finish and in my mind only requires a good varnish or polyurethane without a stain. The natural color of Cherry cannot be improved on. I made a telescope, the hexagonal tube of which is made of cherry. I just used exterior grade polyurethane and the wood after many years still looks good as new.
Quite interesting video presentation, thank you Mark. Very interesting video end watching you trimming the cherry down into lumber. Very interesting being able to see the entire operation. Wishing you, Eddie and ZZ Mark and your families another blessed week filled with peace, good weather, gentle rain and restful evenings. Peace brother
I've cut a little bit of cherry on my homemade bandsaw mill and it looked really good. I wish I had been set up better so I could have made some things out of it after it was all done. Enjoyed the video as always
I just subscribed to your channel and I love it!!! your work set up is amazing and I would feel right at home there. This video is the first time I seen your rip saw in use. I think it would be cool to get some more angles on it for the people that haven't seen it in use be for. Thank you for all your videos Buss Men :)
Just a coincidence but over on Lumber Capital Log Yard today the video was all about banana logs and how to cut them. Another great video. You seem to be getting better all he time. Thank you for your time.👍
Any chance of an overhead shot of the edger in action? Trying to get a better mental picture of the board as you juggle the settings and the final product coming out the end. And, is Eddie stickering and stacking as you edge? Do that later? How thick will the edger cut?
You mentioned steam powered mills there is an old one not far from me where my grandfather worked when I was a kid i wish someone would restore it. Its been sitting for years
I am finally On the road to recovery....Won't be long and I can get back to driving a school bus full of kids...Fantastic camera angles....ZZ...Eddie...Mark...The music is great...Nyquist Sr.
That second log, I would have cut it 4"-5" thick, and made bowl blanks out of it, for woodturning. From what I could see of it, it looked like it had some fantastic grain patterns. We don't always want FAS boards; quite often the more figured boards sell for much more here in UK. I run a small bandmill and most of my work is producing timber for craft use, and the more figured or gnarly grain, the better!
As Always, Thank You Mark, Eddie, and ZZ! ZZ Chop, that is! LOL PS I am far less concerned about ZZ's Beard getting him sucked into something now that he has banded it up!
You may not have thought much of that second log, Mark, but I think the first log was worth the investment by itself. All in all, a great stack of lumber. It's good to see ZZ as a regular, too. Bill
now im gonna have to cut a couple cherry trees will give me a repieve from the hemlock ive ben sawing and will add to what my wife has stikkered in the greenhouse she loves cherry so i saw her some when i come to it nice lookin pile you guys have there
Wood worker love people that saw short logs usually a little cheaper and can sell more with more profits saving the consumer money its a win win for everyone some day I hope to have my own mill and will cut short logs slabs for firewood
Some of these hardwoods like the cherry you might be able to get more value from the cutoffs by selling it as smoker chunks rather than firewood in smaller bags.
some people do buy it for smoking.
Wonderful sawing video!
thanks Randall , I like how the end sealer works .
There's something quite relaxing watching y'all saw those logs !!
thanks Paul , cherry does turn dark red over time very pretty.
Another great sawing video. You guys work good as a team.

Oh my Mark is stepping up his editing game. Great job men, nothing like watching the ole mill turn out some lumber before bed.

Awesome videos you put out I could watch them all day long
Poetry in motion mark excellent videos credit to you n the team 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nice set up you guys have there, you might want to consider getting some stone brought in for the loading area. A wheeled skid steer doesnt do well in soft wet dirt, although yours has nice rubber on it and that helps
G'day Mark Eddie and ZZ, Its good to see that such an integral part of the operation has been given a name 'Chewy' 👍.
You guys rock. Awesome mill! Thanks for posting.
thanks Rick.
We want zzMark to be a permanent member of the team. Thanks for including him in the outro.
he is a permanent member.
Love the Cherry cuts! Thanks guys
glad you liked it.
Fun, watching the edger, inoperation.
Thanks for adding that.
now listening to you talk about the difference in the logs helps me understand why boards end up with a warp or a Wayne
love the way that saw run,s through those log,s.larry
Nice set up at the end of the mill.
This has become my favorite place to visit 🎉🎉
Finally! we can see what happens beyond the cutting of the boards. Lots of finishing work. Great team work! Cheers!
glad you liked it Gilles
Love the tribute to Nathan! Been watching all you guys for years! That cracked me up!
that was funny .
Cherry looks like a real pleasure to saw and work with. I'd have to say my favorite.
yes it saws like butter.
Hello From Fort Myers FL..Hurricane Central for IAN. Watching these video helps to improve my mood. Beautiful job guys. Lots of people around here could use lots of your lumbar... Carry on guys!

I love the smell of cherry! Very nice wood to work with. Thank you from North Central Arkansas!
your welcome Brad , I like white pine too!
Just beautiful. I love cherry with twisted curved grain. I am in heaven when I work with it.
yes lots figuring in it , good to put a gloss finish on.
Another soothing and relaxing video. Many thanks for a wonderful channel.
thanks Kevin , you welcome.
It’s great to see shorts being used for great purposes!!
Cherry is one of the movie stars of the wood world and that was a great opening…..a lot of those boards were gorgeous!
thanks Mack.
Lovely superb Nice sawing of cherry.
Stop messing about with nyloc nuts, get some loctite retaining compound on it. Mild heat 160c will let you remove it no problem.
great idea.
Well worth Two Hundred and Fifty bucks!!!! Can't wait to see that bar!
thanks Doug , I still have more cherry to saw and some white oak.
Great song! Also, it's nice to see the good and the bad logs. It reminds me of shucking Indian corn, which we sell a lot of in the fall. You never know if you've got a treasure or a dud until you open it up.
thanks glad you liked it.
Loved all the sawing and edging. Kept looking at ZZ cutting up the firewood. Got some good firewood pieces out of the bananas. Love you ALL!!
Thanks for watching and commenting Karen! A few of those banana log slabs were too big for the chop saw, I had to used the chainsaw on them! ZZ Mark
I worked right behind an edger, and if ever the the edgerman was out for any reason I would get to step up and run the edger. For this reason I really love watching an edger work. Thanks for the great video Mark, and hello to Eddie and ZZ Mark
thanks Richard , glad you liked it.
Nice looking lumber out of that first log!
Hey Guys,
Love 💕 that music you played at the opening of this video clip !! A REAL foot tapper !! Thanks fo r sharing !!
thanks John , glad you liked it.
I like it when you have a camera over the edger so you can see the edging being done
Mark makes it look so easy to cut quality lumber out of reject logs.
Yes, he does !! Thanks for sharing, Mark !!
thanks Richard.
I love cherry. Loved felling and bucking it too. I logged in upper michigan and it grows lovely cherry log trees.
What is bucking?
Quite interesting video presentation, thank you Mark. Very interesting video end watching you trimming the cherry down into lumber. Very interesting being able to see the entire operation. Wishing you, Eddie and ZZ Mark and your families another blessed week filled with peace, good weather, gentle rain and restful evenings. Peace brother
thank you!
Nice setup, like to watch!
thanks Jim.
Got your $$$ worth. Will make some NICE stuff. Good sawing and God Bless Yall!
for sure Lewie , great deal.
We been up there on here and he was picking on you all over here. And the things they said about chewed!
Glad to see you.
Wow! First time I've seen Eddie without a hat. I almost didn't recognize him. And ZZ Mark. You're a good, hard worker.
he does look different .
compared to my little hobby bandsawmill this thing is just SO fast
Another great video! I love the smell of fresh sawn 🍒
thanks Scott.
Hilarious hey to OTW! Both of your channels rock
thank you.
Good job mark...sometimes you think a log is promising and sometimes it doesn't work out..sometimes you get the unexpected!!
thanks John , that's what makes it fun.
Great video fellas! That is gorgeous cherry, beautiful stuff comes out of poor lookin logs.
thanks , it did make some nice lumber.
Nice cherry 🍒 😊👍
Have you ever noticed how the ugliest logs produce some of the most beautiful lumber!!!!!👍😊😊😊🌎🌞
Love you guys so much 💕 Great video. I really enjoyed the end too!
thank you Laura!
Say "Hi" to Eddie and ZZ, please Mike !!
I would have liked to seen and heard more about the resawing (?) operation at the end.
Red Loc Tite is forever. Blue holds but is meant to be disassembled. Might try that, too.
very true.
You look like good gang , best chummy .have fun .
Enjoy the edging at the end. Want to see the outfeed on that. Nice work men.
thanks , glad you liked it.
Liked the video and the music sound great!
thanks Manny.
I've cut a little bit of cherry on my homemade bandsaw mill and it looked really good. I wish I had been set up better so I could have made some things out of it after it was all done. Enjoyed the video as always
thanks Gary , cherry saws great.
I just subscribed to your channel and I love it!!! your work set up is amazing and I would feel right at home there. This video is the first time I seen your rip saw in use. ❤that sounds.I think you guys have a winner.😊👁🤟👉
thanks Larry.
Liked the video AND the music!
thanks James.
Just a coincidence but over on Lumber Capital Log Yard today the video was all about banana logs and how to cut them. Another great video. You seem to be getting better all he time. Thank you for your time.👍
thanks Dennis , we don't look as pretty like the girls on lumber capital log yard.
Yep Sami, Jade and Amber are prettier
Any chance of an overhead shot of the edger in action? Trying to get a better mental picture of the board as you juggle the settings and the final product coming out the end. And, is Eddie stickering and stacking as you edge? Do that later? How thick will the edger cut?
It cut really good! Judging form the face check passes, they didn’t move a whole lot for dried cherry.
yes it did saw nice.
You mentioned steam powered mills there is an old one not far from me where my grandfather worked when I was a kid i wish someone would restore it. Its been sitting for years
The second cut on the second face of the second log (😂) would make a really cool curved desk
Good evening from Cape Town, as I start watching.
good evening Rod.
I am finally On the road to recovery....Won't be long and I can get back to driving a school bus full of kids...Fantastic camera angles....ZZ...Eddie...Mark...The music is great...Nyquist Sr.
Hi Nyquist welcome back! hope all is well!
Matthew Cremona waters down his boards after the log is cut. He even gives an appraisal to each one for the various growth patterns, etc.
I did see that.
That second log, I would have cut it 4"-5" thick, and made bowl blanks out of it, for woodturning. From what I could see of it, it looked like it had some fantastic grain patterns.
We don't always want FAS boards; quite often the more figured boards sell for much more here in UK. I run a small bandmill and most of my work is producing timber for craft use, and the more figured or gnarly grain, the better!
yes it would have made some nice turning blanks , I need to find a market for them.
As Always, Thank You Mark, Eddie, and ZZ! ZZ Chop, that is! LOL PS I am far less concerned about ZZ's Beard getting him sucked into something now that he has banded it up!
thanks again for the music!
Really like the music 🎶 you play!
thanks Antonio , glad you liked it.
Did you think about using some thread lock for the master dog nut?
You may not have thought much of that second log, Mark, but I think the first log was worth the investment by itself. All in all, a great stack of lumber. It's good to see ZZ as a regular, too.
Bill
the two big logs were better and will be on the next video.
Always amazes me even rough logs yield some good timber saves burning them some channels I watching landftill or burn such a wais t
yes it's good to save these logs.
Awesome music 👍 your right yucky sticky charry good job thinks
thanks Al.
Those board are great for making toys with
they sure would , my dad made wooden toys.
G'day Mark Eddie and ZZ, I'll have to check this Buckin character out 👍.
you will like Buckin.
"Cut the Pith out of it"
Sounds like a new T-shirt.
that's funny and a good idea.
@@markgalicic7788 I'll take one if those shirts are made.
When was the blade of the edger last sharpened? Sounds pretty shiny to me! Hard-working dogs there. Does cherry ever turn into pallets?
That would make some nice looking gun stocks !
yes it would.
I enjoy your UTUBE video's Thanks for sharing
due to emerald ash borer , firewood cant cross county lines in ky be careful there in pa
Mike
we have the same laws here , all of our logs are local 30 miles or less.
Here's to bucking Billy Ray. Cheers
now im gonna have to cut a couple cherry trees will give me a repieve from the hemlock ive ben sawing and will add to what my wife has stikkered in the greenhouse she loves cherry so i saw her some when i come to it nice lookin pile you guys have there
thanks Cedric , for sure cherry over hemlock.
God Bless you all
thanks Daniel.
I like to see you quarter saw some logs
Been waiting on this one! Great video work on this
thanks , so far some nice cherry and I have a few short white oak logs.
Wood worker love people that saw short logs usually a little cheaper and can sell more with more profits saving the consumer money its a win win for everyone some day I hope to have my own mill and will cut short logs slabs for firewood
yes I use short boards for cabinet doors and face frames.
Good job guys. Hi, to eddie, mark and zz mark
thanks Doug , I sure will.
Love the music
thanks Gordon.
What was the band and don’t name while Eddie was loading logs?
Does it matter which side of the crook you take out first?
..a wise investment, good job, keep safe..
thanks Bob.
