Insane indeed. Not gonna lie, my ears like a few more notes in the vocals, but hey that's their style, max respect. And as an amateur singer I don't even know how someone can sing like that for more than 5 minutes without injuring their vocal cords

I know most People wont care, but i just want to let you guys and Amon Amarth know that since 2008 im listening to your music.
Ive listened to this album like a bazillion times.
In 2008 my Grandmother died, later on my Grandfather and half a Year later my Uncle. My Dad was devastated by these losses, so was i, but your Music was a Home to me. My own Bubble, to calm me down and keep me sane.
Since September my Dad was fighting Cancer, he stood strong and Proud until his very last Days. He was too proud to give up early or let us see the Pain he was in, but we knew how bad it was every Day.
2 hours Ago, i already sat beside him since 9 o clock in the morning, we watched Vikings and he finally couldnt fight anymore. He stopped breathing while i held his Hand and talked to him. It was the 4th of February 2021, 17:24.
Farewell Dad, we will meet again in many years. I will have so much to tell you and ill bring lots of Beer and ill show you how your granddaughter grew up.
I love you Dad.
Sorry for your loss brother. I'm glad you two were able to spend the last time together with someone you both enjoyed and I hope that this band and the tv show bring back great memories and joy.

I was at this concert. It was the first time I crowdsurfed when they played this song. Probably the best and most intense concert of my life.

If you're going to make a live concert album, and there are moments where the crowd are asked to sing, you really need to have mics that can pick up their sound.
I think you should always be able to hear the audience. Its what makes a live record sound so (a)live.

Amon Amarth is not a brand, they are a meaning to my life actually. I grown up with them. They do what they should do to deliver kickass music as well as preserve their popularity. Also, I saw some comments about solos but bro, do you know how hard it is to play that when you are on stage, little drunk and vibing to your own show? It is very hard even if you crack on caffeine, warm-up for 6 hours and experience time slower than it should be. Stages are about vibing together IMO, and these bears do it so well. I don't care if the solo is bad or good. They crack the sky with their powerful souls and it is far enough to have an excellent night with their music.
Future generations will use this bands music as testosterone replacement therapy.

Now that's a seasoned voice, To be at an Amon Amarth concert is really something to behold. I love the old school death metal and how they retain its roots in everything they create.

When you start 40 years ago with Scorpions and end up nowadays with Amon Amarth. What a journey, what a ride. Saw them live in Munich this October...and the journey has not yet finished

it seems to me that they changed the "sound guy" before you could hear Johann clearly almost everytime, now he gets kinda overshadowed by the music. Not that the music is bad, but i prefered it when you could hear him more clearly. Maybe it is to help him keep his voice intact, try to watch the official video from 2012/13 You will know what i mean. Still the first band that got me into metal and deserves special place in my heart and wardrobe (almost everything is from them :D )

These massive concerts are insane but I'd also love to say that I've had the pleasure of witnessing Amon Amarth rock the absolute SHIT out of some small venues on a couple of occasions. Definitely check them out no matter where they play
amon amarth are a enormous band now. they don't play in small locations here in germany. only really big venues and big festivals. I think the smalles venue I've seen them in was like 2000+ people still during the deceiver of the gods tour in 2013.

open air concerts get stopped during thunderstorms. But I've seen some bands during very heavy rain at that very festival. Arch enemy in 2022 was really bad. I was absolutely soaked and had to go back to my tent, because I was so damn cold. I missed dark tranquility because of that.

So many people here without their mark in the world talking about them going "downhill", someone even suggested they're pandering to a mainstream audience, because of course Melodic Death Metal with lyrics about Vikings is on the radio all the time, I am a metalhead, and I love the others I meet at events like these. But you online warriors need to humble yourselves, no-one cares that you've been a fan for a long time or that you are the ultimate metalhead (I say with sarcasm in my voice), you aren't great, big or cool. But Amon Amarth are.
