The most evil thing is the fact that he kills them himself, instead of just letting them die by other means and having a hopper collect it.
You don't get EXP from mobs unless you hit them yourself.

When you really think about it the players ARE the bad side, I mean they go to pillager outposts kill the leaders and then bring a raid to the village, So it really looks like the players are the evil ones.
