Glen was an influential member of the world-famous Wrecking Crew and played on over 600 songs
Glenn is playing a 12 string guitar as well. Genius! ❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, great guitarist
Exactly. Alternate picking at that speed on a 12 string is simply amazing.
@@dogsoldiertoo1099 that is why he is in my top ten guitarist
I do not play guitar, so my opinion is meaningless, but people always talk about Jimmy Hendrix being the greatest guitar player, to me he is just noise. In my opinion Glenn Campbell was infinity times better. I do not know why he does not rank as one of, if not the best, guitarists of all time.
This was probably the first piece of classical music that ordinary Americans ever heard.
And the orchestra has sheet music - Glen just knows! He was amazing!
He couldn’t read music, played it all by ear.
Clayton Moore was The Lone Ranger. Jay Silverheels was Tonto on the tv show “The Lone Ranger”. This was the theme song from the show.
I was in the band in high school in the 60's and learned that this was the William Tell Overture. In the US this is more commonly known as The Lone Ranger. Fun to play!
Legands the music, player, Clayton Moore, and Jay Silverheel. How a classical song and a country music virtuoso blend into magic. AND on a 12 string guitar.
And their horses, Silver and Scout!
An absolute guitar master and a really good singer as well. I was waiting for that ending to see your shock. This is a song that seems like it is not made for a guitar. I'd love to see you react to more of his music. I'd suggest "Wichita Lineman".
One of the top 5 players in the world.
Member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, in my top ten guitarist. Check out him and Roy Clark doing Ghost Riders.
A 12 STRING GUITAR NO LESS! RIP GLEN CAMPBELL!
Glen Campbell was a top notch guitar player !!!
Thank you so much for reacting to this great legend. I grew up listening to his music. Glen Campbell was one of the most talented entertainers & guitarists in the world. He had a lot of hits such as "By the Time I Get to Phoenix", "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife", "Wichita Lineman", "Galveston", "Rhinestone Cowboy", "Southern Nights" etc. Sadly he got Alzheimer's later in life. The last song he recorded was "I'm Not Gonna Miss You".
HE COULDA TAUGHT JIMI HENDRIX, STEVIE RAY, JIMMY PAGE, ERIC CLAPTON, ALLLLLLLL OF UM, HE KNEW ALL OF THAT STUFF, HE WAS JUST INCREDIBLE AND PHENOMENAL! LOOK AT HIS WIKI BIO SOMETIME GREG. 😊 GREAT STUFF MAN!💯
and he did til almost the very end when ALZ cut it short for him...
Clayton Moore played the fictional western character the Lone Ranger from 1949 to 1952 and 1953 to 1957 on the television series of the same name and two related films. This was theme song.
his aunt was my aunt's room mate
Well done. Good reactions. I like your keen observation on how much practice it takes for a philharmonic, that can have up to 100 musicians, to all be on the exact same note. This is often overlooked. It all starts with the Conductor, and hours upon hours of rehearsals. It is the Conductor that keeps the timing as each musician keys on him/ her to stay in synche. Of course, this is Glen Campbell’s time to shine. It is a testament to his virtuoso on the guitar to have a world class orchestra asking him to perform. Here is a man who could not read music playing what amounts to a solo in front of an orchestra fully dependent upon their sheet music, or the notes on it. Glenn has it all in his head. What is more astounding is that he is picking a 12-string! The accuracy required to pick two strings each time without missing is a technique beyond 99.9% of guitarists.
This is country guitarists do, no effects to hide behind, and on a twelve string!
This is amazing to me.. he's playing with a whole orchestra... wow,,, and wasn't intimidated... he knew he had the talent on a guitar or a banjo.
Ty for recognizing his greatness
No one can match the Great Glen Campbell. RIP
Don't think I saw where anyone mentioned that Glen did all of his work from memory - he never learned to read music.
Glen Campbell was the greatest guitar player of all time. And he could not read music at all. This is a 12 string guitar he is playing. We lost a great musican when he passed ❤
In the top 5 anyway.
HE DIDN'T EVENNNNNN READ MUSIC GREG AND HE PLAYED A 12 STRINGGGG, INSANE STUFF! 😊
Glen was incredible on the guitar. Very underrated.
That orchestra was on fire!!
Exactly. Lot of talent on that stage.
Completely agree. That entire concert event, recorded as a PBS special, is still one of my favorite programs I've ever experienced...of ANY musical genre!!!!
Glen Campell was an amazing guitar player.. played with Elvis... and when he got Dementia... his family said.. he couldn't talk or sing anymore.. but he could still play the guitar..
Glenn Campbell could sing and play guitar like most people can walk and chew gum at the same time. He started playing when he was 12 and is an outstanding vocalist. He can play any style pop, jazz, blues and classical.
Yeah, The Lone Ranger! ❤
HEY HEY HEYYYYYYY GREG!!! 😊 NOW WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST! 💯 R.I.P TO GLEN OF COURSE, IT WAS A SAD SAD DAY FOR SURE!🙁 ALZHEIMERS
hahahaha I love it when young people see a remarkable guitar player like GLen and the end, where hes just showing off- PLayin it over his DAM HEAD lol🤣😅😂
Greg, the look on your face!!! You’re watching genius and raw talent at play. These old time, and I mean, your grandparents generation, musicians were one of a kind.
TRUE STORY! Before Eddie Van Halen was EVH he was looking for master guitarists to help him. He went to Glen Campbell.Eddie had an ego that barely fit in an auditorium. One after he was one of the top guitarists in the world an interviewer asked about his guitar idols. E mentioned Chet Atkins and Glen Campbell. Then Atkins walked out. E stood up, stuck his hand out to meet Chet’s and said,”GREAT pleasure Mr. Atkins!” Chet said,”It’s Chet Eddie.” E said, “Yes Mr.Atkins.” He could not and would not call him Chet.
Strange as it may sound, one of Glen's closest friends was Alice Cooper. EVH asked Alice (it's his real legal name) if he would approach Glen on his behalf for guitar lessons.
It's hard to believe this extremely talented guy eventually died from Alzheimer's Disease. RIP Glen Campbell.
Glen campbell was straight up the man smooth as butter and was a pleasure to listen to
I encourage everyone to go to a least one symphony performance. Regardless of your music preference you will enjoy it. Also go to a Broadway play I went to two and wow oh wow. Yet I love Motown, Rock and country. Thanks for the video. Glen Campbell was a wonderful singer as well.
Musician, singer & actor. Glen was amazing
I choked on my pizza when I saw your face when he put the guitar over his head 😂😂😂 Priceless...
Dude, I'm lovin your reactions. Keep up the good work.
Glen is a guitar genius
GREG, YOU ARE WAY TO YOUNG TO REMEMBER, THIS WAS THE MUSIC TO THE TV SHOW, THE LONE RANGER.....EVERY KID LOOKED FORWARD TO IT!!!!
Written in the 1800's by Italian composer Gioachino Rossina it is the overture to his last opera " William Tell" !!
One of the best ever!!
This was a Classical Music piece by the composer Gioachino Rossini -coming from his “William Tell overture”.
Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels were the actors that played The Lone Ranger and Tonto on the TV show that aired from 1949 to 1957. It was also a radio show in the 1930's played by other actors of course. Just for reference the song is The William Tell Overture.
STUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNING!
Not sure, but, I Kno 1 word, (TALENT)😁😁👍👍
The theme song for the Lone Ranger. I was 12 when I picked up my first guitar and I fell in love with it.
As someone who has sung in several choral groups and choirs, there's nothing like the feeling of performing with a like-minded group and producing magic.
This always makes me smile!
Great reaction!
Thanks Guy! I haven’t listened to this piece in years! I had also forgotten GC’s talent though this song corrected that! Thanks for a more unconventional reaction!
YO MY MAN'S WALKING AROUND DOING THIS, LMAO!!! 👍😊I LOVE THAT GREG! 💯 IT'S INSANE MY FRIEND!
Goat's are climbing to reach Glenn Campbell, Roy Clark and Chet Atkins.
Jay Silverheels was an indigenous (Mohawk) Canadian actor and athlete who most notably played Tonto - The Lone Ranger's sidekick. He played pro lacrosse all over the continent. Deceased as of 1980.
Those old Lone Ranger show episodes are worth checking out.
HE'S PLAYINGGGG A 12 STRING GREG!!! 😮IT'S TOTAL INSANITYYYY💯😊
I think you would love Earl Scruggs and Friends. Foggy Mountain Breakdown. Nothing but musical legends in that video. NEVERMIND! You already did a reaction to it! haha
Just brilliant!
One of the greatest musicians/singers in history. There was nothing he didn't excel at. The man was a bonified stud.
Glen Campbell was amazing, but the interesting thing is, he couldn't read music!!! Many of the Great guitarist in the 70's ,80's and 90's went to him for lessons.
He is one the greatest guitar players. He played with the Beach Boys for awhile. Do Glen and Jerry Reed doing Guitar man.
CLAYTON MOORE & JAY SILVERHEELS 😊 THE LONE RANGER AND TONTO GREG👍
Amazing
If you liked the orchestra, try the Danish Symphony orchestra playing almost anything. The theme from the movie" The good ,the bad and the ugly ",would be a good place to start. Watch the movie first of you can.
Glen Campbell taught guitar to to Eddie Van Halen... hello
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
🤣🤣🤣
Me to ❗️
That piss me off
When I see 👀 talent like that
When I know that I can't even play one song on a guitar 🤣🤣🤣🤣
May I suggest another great song by
Jason Isbell live from Austin City Limits Song is

You gonna love this one too Keep the good work my friend ✌️ 👏 👍🏻
Look up the wrecking crews body of work glen played for Elvis Sinatra and lots of others like beach boys touring band for a long period of time then went on his own to record many now well known standards we are talking van halens guitar teacher of choice ,must make him one of the greats surely
And he’s playing it on a 12 string. I noticed that too John.
SPEAKING OF PARK GREG, YOU NEED TO SEEE HIM DO ( MACARTHUR'S PARK ) YIKESSSSS! 👍😊 RIP GLEN!☹
Just realized how much the Bonanza theme borrowed from this piece.
It’s. A. 12. String. Lawd!
You need to look up one of the best guitar players of all time.
Chet Atkins also called Mr. Guitar!
Would like to see your reaction to him.
Glenn and Roy Clark were both influenced heavily by Chet.
@@boroblueyes As with numerous other players.
He was not nicknamed Mr. Guitar for nothing.
According to Google:
Known as “Mr. Guitar ,” Atkins was not only a virtuoso guitarist but also a prolific producer and influential music executive. His innovative playing style and groundbreaking techniques revolutionized the world of guitar music, leaving an indelible mark on the industry that still resonates today.
Song recommendation See The Light by Jeff Healy unfortunately this amazing artist was taken far to soon
Edit: he also blind
Please do "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" by John Denver🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rossini with attitude was a good description
Clayton Moore was the Lone Ranger, and Jay Silverheels was Tonto.
You should see him when he plays it on top of or behind his head.
He's good friends with Alice Cooper. As in they're golf buddies.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶💯
🤘🏽⚜️🤘🏽
Between Glen Campbell and Prince as to who is the best guitarist ever in my mind.
Your girl was watching the lone ranger all the time. Who learned how to hand slap this on their leg? Me and my older sister tried to outdo each other.
Glen Campbell was a guitar genius. In his time, the only guitar player that was even better was Roy Clark and it's no small thing to "only come in second" to Roy Clark. It's said Roy could play anything with strings including guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin. It's hard to compete with talent like that. Jimi Hendrix, during an interview, was asked "How does it feel to be the best guitar player in the world?". His answer? I don't know, for that you have to ask Roy Clark. High praise indeed,
Clayton Moore AKA Lone Ranger Jay Silverheels AKA Tonto
Alace Cooper recommend Eddie Van Halen to take lessons from Glen and he wasn’t joking….
Check out Roy Clark and Jennifer Batten she does Flight of the Bumblebee all hammer on
He could also play the bagpipes
And he’s doing this in a 12 string guitar
On top of his head with a twelve string guitar
Very few can play a 12 string guitar.
Check out old episodes of the Lone Ranger
Glenn had altzheimers at this time. But the music was in him
Check out classical gas
Glen Campbell and Alice cooper were best friends for years, can ya believe that, they even, according to Alice golfed once a week, seems like one WEIRD friendship, when ya think about their style of preferred music
Kindle
Eddie van Halen considered glen Campbell one of the best guitar players ever
Glen taught EDDIE VAN HALEN AS WELL..DUDE WAS A MASTER GUITARIST THAT PLAYED BY EAR AND DIDNT READ MUSIC..
You gotta check out Steve Ouimette's cover of The Devil Went Down To Georgia. He's one of the guitar masters that doesn't get the recognition that he deserves.
I don't think the people on the top 250 guitarist thingy could touch this guy. He wasn't on the list.
