I use Abbey Road One for my low layer strings and brass sections, the are a lot of great low frequencies of Abbey Road studio in them. BUT. The sound of high strings is very strange… too bright… Also the are fantastic percussion instruments in ARO 👍🏻
A great video, thank you. Paradoxically, the Spitfire player is the weakest part of the product. @11:23 Just the fact that he says "We are adding things to it" shows that they have a wrong perception. The UX of the player is simply bad, the basics should be improved first (all articulations on one screen, and please finally remove the "big knob").
Actually, there are a great number of videos on CZcams reviewing Spitfire Audio's Abbey Road Orchestra samples. I appreciation this video for its behind-the-scenes look at how the ARO sample library is being created.
Honestly I'm disappointed with this video. I was hoping to hear a few 'fly on the wall' snippets of the strings actually playing a sample session. I have never seen this shown anywhere. I suspect it's because what's actually played; a series of repetitive, endless, single notes working through the scales and playing techniques is deadly dull. A million miles away from the PR hyped expressive playing that the adverts claim is possible with these libraries.
Fascinating insight into quite simply the best sounding sample libraries out there!
Brilliant.
"What would I use myself" ? OT , indeed ;)
💐👏🏾
slow mo vibrato looks funny

Funny how he says each of the mics he likes to use make it sound 'more controlled' (??) What does that mean exactly?

Nice, but let's hear the orchestra.

Yes, would have been nice to hear but a few seconds of what the samples sound like...
You'll hear more in the forthcoming 3 episodes in this series.
Almost closed the tab when "Trevor Horn" was synced with a French Horn. Bad Editor! Bad!

Sorry you are disappointed but stay tuned as there are 3 more Chapters (episodes) in the works, revealing tons of detail.
totally frustrating watching all those players without sound, thumbs down!
