  • 8 Most Rare Pickup Trucks Of All Time! You Didn't Know Exist!
If you're a true automotive enthusiast, prepare to be amazed by the legendary pickup trucks that have left their indelible mark on the world of pickups and off-road vehicles. In this video, we dive deep into the rare and iconic models that have graced the automotive landscape over the years.
First up, we have the 1978 Dodge Midnite Express Truck, a limited-edition gem that set itself apart from the crowd. With its striking black paint and "Midnite Express Truck" decal, this pickup exuded style and exclusivity. But what really made it stand out was its formidable 440 engine, offering power that could leave its competitors in the dust.
Next, we shift gears to the Lamborghini LM002, known as the "Rambo Lambo." This luxurious off-road beast emerged from Lamborghini's military vehicle project and featured a V12 engine from the iconic Countach. With custom Pirelli Scorpion tires and a lavish interior, it redefined off-road luxury.
Then, we take a look at the ultra-rare 1991 Ford SkyRanger, a convertible pickup born from Ford's experimentation. Only 17 of these gems were ever made, making them a collector's dream. With a V6 engine, manual transmission, and a unique manual soft top, these trucks were ahead of their time.
Fast forward to 2006, and we encounter the Chevrolet Silverado Intimidator SS, a tribute to the NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Senior. Its V8 engine packed a punch, while its lowered suspension and unique styling made it a true collector's item with just 933 units produced.
But the excitement doesn't stop there. The 2004-2005 Dodge Ram 1500 GTX Hemi roars onto the scene, paying homage to Chrysler's muscle car era. With its vibrant colors, powerful Hemi V8, and custom enhancements, it's a sought-after treasure among collectors.
And who could forget the Jeep CJ-10, a rare export model with a unique blend of Jeep ½-ton and CJ elements? Its distinctive design and versatility made it a standout in the off-road world, especially in Australia.
Last but not least, we explore the Ford Bigfoot Cruiser, a special edition package that honored the Bigfoot monster truck. With its rugged features and off-road capabilities, it's a true testament to the spirit of adventure.
But the pinnacle of our journey is the Icon TR, a masterpiece by restomodding virtuoso Jonathan Ward. This modern marvel blends a classic 1950 Chevrolet pickup with a 6.2-liter Chevy V8 engine, delivering an astounding 430 horsepower. With its advanced suspension and braking systems, it promises an exhilarating yet secure ride.

The mercury was pretty common in Canada , but I have heard there's a premium on them in the states
      Never thought about the blackwood
What was in my mind were ones like Hudson , Studebaker, reo , Peirce-arrow
There are likely more of the obscure ones that I'm missing , which is what I wanted

That doesn't describe a single truck in this video. All had unique engine and/or equipment options at the very least.

IH pickup, Ford Durango( not a typo… 1979-82 based on the Grenada, so more of a Ute than a truck but, still)

I’ve always wanted a Sky Ranger as I’m a Ranger fan.
We currently own our 4th Ranger.
    It’s a 2011 XLT super cab 4WD with the 4.0L V6, 5spd automatic transmission, limited slip differential.
It has custom 2 tone paint, (factory Silver over Red metallic). Custom interior, Red with black trim and stitching, custom pinstripes, custom wheels, running boards, rear adjustable air shocks, dashboard cover, window vents. A LineX spray in bed liner, tonneau cover.
Before adding a K&N cold air intake and a 3” FlowMaster exhaust system, I was getting 19mpg on the highway with the cruise control set on 75mph. I’m now getting 23mpg.
Next will be a bug shield, chrome door handles, and rear view mirror caps.
    It looks showroom new.
The truck is mainly used for work around our property.
I baby the pickup. It has only 36K miles.
I change the oil and filter every 6 months, (which is about 1K to 1,500 miles) with Valvoline full synthetic motor oil.
I back flush the radiator add new antifreeze and bleed the brakes every 3 years . I had the front and rear differential, transfer case and transmission fluid changed at 30K miles.
The tires are Cooper Discoverer A/T.
Every 5K miles the tires are rotated.
It sounds Great and looks Great and hauls Ass if needed.
I’ve never ran out of 4th gear as the governor kicks in at 110mph while it still hasn’t up shifted into 5th gear.
I normally drive it 5mph over the limit, so it normally runs at 65mph around our area and 75mph on the highway / freeway.
While driving through Montana, the cruise is set on 85mph.
At our age this will be the Last pickup we’ll ever own.

Wow! great to hear everything in details from you☺️. And Yeah, Sky Ranger was really special. And 17 only made. It's sad that ford never approved it for mass production🙁

@@top.intel0 I agree that Ford missed the mark on the Sky Ranger.
Now it will become a Collector pickup.
I’d like to find a Regular Cab 2011 Ford Ranger so I can yank the engine out and drop in a 302 V8. I know I’d have to change out the transmission and rear end as well but it would be a Blast for an old duffer like myself
