Barry Windham is one of the most naturally gifted performers I have ever seen. Such a talent. The most recent performer with "the gift" is Randy Orton.
So is Goldust. They don’t call him the natural for no reason.
As we all know, both second generation guys. Not a coincidence.
True on both no doubt
I almost hate to say it but..... Logan Paul.
With Barry was my favorite. Ole played the tough guy role well, but Barry was so smooth and fun to watch in the ring. Best era of wrestling in my opinion
Barry was one of the top guys of his era in terms of in-ring. In retrospect, it was a real bummer when they gave the belt to Luger in the cage instead of Barry after Flair left WCW. Barry also had a great feud with Dustin Rhodes a few years later and great heel run.
I agree, Flair, Barry, Arn&Tully are the best version of the Houseman!
Tully spoke his mind. ZERO FUCKS GIVEN
My favorite horsemen group was when Ole was there cause that’s when they were the most ruthless. JJ would hire a cameraman and a driver and they’d catch you coming out of a restaurant with your lady and beat you down if you were a big enough threat. Lol. But don’t get me wrong Barry was a great addition. Smooth character. Great talent. Surprisingly great heel. Much better fit than Luger was.
X
Arn, the most underrated Wrestler to grace the Squared Circle.
This was wrestling at its finest!
Mr Windam was a NATURAL at it !
Barry and his dad were 2 of my favorite wrestlers at their time and when i learned that blackjack mulligan was his dad i flipped!
Hard to believe the Flair, Anderson, Blanchard & Windham version of Horsemen only lasted 4 months.
For a big dude who was 260 lbs & 6' 6", Barry could move like a cat. He had lightning speed and was incredibly strong. His technical ability's so underrated😐
Tully was always my favorite.
Agreed. He was the essence of a heel.
Ole Arn Blanchard Flair the best of the Horsemen
BW was a wrestling machine.
That damn float over after the super plex!
Tully was the one that made the Horsemen detestable. Otherwise, one could like the Horsemen, even with Ole. But the Horsemen were dirty, detestable, despicable SOBs that you wanted to see get their faces smashed in with Tully.
One of my favorite matches was Barry Windham vs AA for the Western States heritage title. Awesome match just as the 1hr time limit was about to end Barry hit the lariat quick cover and the bell rang before any count
I can remember watching Barry Wyndham vs Dick Murdoch on tv and that match got sideways after a little while. They starting throwing haymakers back and forth and the had to be separated. Busted lip, nose bleeding, and eyes swollen. Barry was tough but so was Dick Murdoch.
I'm always used to the original horsemen
Barry made everything looks smooth and easy.
Barry, Arn and Tully. 3 of the greatest of all time!!!!!
Um Barry and Ole...Tully was never mentioned
Tully made u to hate him so bad he had a big ego I hate him when I was little
Sid, Barry, Arn and Ric were my fave combo.
Tully was the best bad guy ever in wrestling and possibly the best wrestler I ever watched bar none everything he did looked real and you believed he was a bad guy through and through
Hell yeah!! Tully was the best!
Tully and Gino Hernandez were born to be heels. Can anyone ever picture either of them turn face…yeah me neither.
I like the original horsemen. Ole, Arn, Tully, Ric.
Yes, that is the Horsemen. They could all work, in singles and tags, and they were all terrific promo guys.
@@PatI-zg9gm yes I totally agree
@@dickborg452 No one questions Windham’s ability. There was just a malevolence that the original four had. They were natural heels, and it was only age that led to Ole’s departure in the first place.
@@PatI-zg9gm Windham just didn't fit in with the horsemen. He wasn't in their league
Barry brought a level of athleticism to the Horsemen that Ole did not possess. Barry was very gifted, the he could be speed and power when he need to be.
Actually differences between Barry and Ole, not Tully.
I wonder who AA clicked with better teaming with? Barry or Tully?
windham sooooo underrated
Ole being one of the original team will his experience took them where they are in wrestling history today and barry was the best follow up ofter Ole to bad there run wasn't longer
I remember the Italian Stallion, heck of a jobber. Also loved the Cuban Assassin.
As a pure fan perspective Tully was not perceived as the threat of pure violence that Barry was.
On the flip side Tully could just piss people off.
does any one name their kids Arn anymore?
4,000 in greensboro? Wow that's really low that's a 20,000 seat coliseum
They could have had a fantastic reboot if they had gone with anybody but Steve McMichael.
BARRY WAS MY FAVORITE HORSEMAN!!!!!!!!
Lex was after Ole. Then Barry.
👍👍
Barry Dad was very strong too black jack
Windham was awesome, but the Horsemen are Flair, Blanchard, and The Andersons.
Arn is fantastic, but I could do without the guy who carries Conrad's bags as the co-host.
To me it was Windham all day. Blanchard just never convinced me of devastation. He was limited in athleticism, size and speed. Where Windham has a the tools. I did like Tully as he could sell great and talk on the mic but to the topic of a better Horseman it's Barry.
You must not have seen him from 86-88. Tully went toe to toe with everyone including riding the wave with Magnum, one on one with Dusty and he easily transitioned to tag work with AA. I caught a lot of his earlier stuff from Texas and he always lived up to his “SuperBrat” reputation and to be honest, Tully could have stepped it up and been a serious challenge for Flair.
They used to compete at the hotels running stairs. Tully was always the one who could keep up with flair for cardio.
I certainly did see him in that era many times. He was a solid wrestler but his finisher to me was weak (slingshot suplex). I just thought Windham was a better Horseman for his brief stint.
I still don't think Barry was a good fit for the Horsemen, because he lacked the evil frat boy vibe of the rest of them. Lex had that in spades, probably better than any of them, but he lacked the technical skills. Barry with Lex's attitude, or Lex with Barry's skills (or at least 10% of those skills), that would be absolutely... perfect.
I have been saying that for 35 years...Lex should've stayed Heel, being that he was so naturally arrogant. I loved Barry, he moved like a cat for such a big dude, but he was such an established Baby Face, I just didn't buy him as a Horsemen - even though his Heel turn was epic - he wasn't convincing as a bad guy, like Tully was...
EVIL FRAT BOY WTF.
@@chrischar9428 Yeah. Four great workers, all heels, who can believably wear at least polo shirts and slacks, and put on an air of snide arrogance. Older than frat boys, but they're like alumni who were evil frat boys.
Barry Windham was the best fit after Ole.
Lex just never fit in any way whatsoever. Luger lacked in-ring skills, as well as mic skills. Lex was Mongo (no disrespect to the former NFL player), with a roided-out body. JMO.
Tully was grsat both in ring and on promos. Very believeable performer, especially early on.
But Barry Windham was always underrated as a wrestler imo. He was actually very, very good in the ring, particularly for a big guy. He was somewhat lackluster on the mic & not always enthusiastic, but I always thought he did most of his "talking" inside the squared circle.
@@benjamincrowther1957
Luger was from the new batch of 'roided body guys that Vince loved so much like the UW, and the Horsemen covered for his deficiencies. I Never thought Barry Windham was underrated, underutilized for sure, but that was by his choice. Anybody that saw him team with Rotunda early in his career knew what a Natural he was...
Around 9” in height I’d say.
Harn Handerson
Arn wasnt a rookie in 85
Tully was a better promo and personality. Windham was bland.
Windham was better wrestler
@@chrischar9428 Maybe but he wasn't a Horseman. I don't like boring in my Horsemen.
@@mitchcolburn1216 I think Barry just living Horsemen life, was what the group needed. He could was like the other 3, wrestle a long match, go out all night, barely sleep, up and do another long night the next night. Just like Ric, Arn, and Tully. Also like Ric, Arn, and Tully, Barry could just say "in that ring I'm better than you" and it spoke for itself. Sure, the other 3 could give details to that comment and do better promos, but Barry just doing it in the ring was basically the same as Ole (as Ole was the same way, but just a brute compared to a bit more finesse like Barry).
Tosh takes down Arn in under 3 minutes with a figure 4
Heel Barry was awesome
