I wonder how many future students will pick Animal Crossing off the list of essay topics for their 2020 unit. At the time, having the local news provide coverage of people's accomplishments (islands) in a video game seemed strange. But now, it seems like one of the most normal things that happened that year. I also wonder how far the borders of those units will extend, if 2021 will feel like an extension, or more similar to their present than 2020.

A few weeks ago I wanted to share a meme where one tumblr user posted “(climbing through your bedroom window at night) oh don’t worry I’m vaccinated. why are you screaming” and another one responded with a picture of Edward Cullen with a speech bubble making it look like it was Edward saying it (quality meme content, you know) and I got a warning that I should check if I was sharing reliable information and a link to further educate myself about the vaccine

She also uses she pronouns in her author bio and describes herself as a "writer, ferret-lover, and mother". I also get the sense it was a joke because of another book of hers called "Penetrated by the President's Twitter Feed".
