Teen idols were new? You must’ve forgotten about The Day The Music Died. The loss of The Big Bopper and Richie Valens (and others) was a big deal.
Elvis was the first "teen idol" if we don't count the "bobby-soxers" who idolized early, young, Frank Sinatra.
There were a ton of teen idols before this crew came along. Ricky Nelson had so much more natural talent as evidenced by the long-term popularity of his songs.
And Rudy Valley in the 1920's, Frank Sinatra in the 1950's. . .

The outside of the Partidge Family home was used in a 1992 November made for tv movie for the Fox network called Doing Time On Maple Drive. Yes, I know 1992 was such a long time ago and even myself can not believe this piece of triva has always been stuck in my mind all these years.

David and Susan did make up. She appeared on a episode of Here's Your Life David Cassidy. His wife didn't seem to like it very much. She didn't acknowledge Susan.

I meant to say it's great to hear they made up. David's death would have been a more devastating time for Susan had they not.

In a video I just watched David went too far talking about when he was with Susan in his book. She wasn't happy with him and that's why she stopped going to reunions etc.

Man, so much is so wrong. Presenting jones as a relative unknown until partridge family, Cassidy family as happy, the details on David Cassidy's contract don't match what I've heard.
Those were two completely different buses. One from the 1960's and one from the 1950's.

I saw two mistakes in this. That was Johnny Bench and NOT Johnny Cash, who guest starred. Then I was thinking about how having a photographic memory would help someone with DYSLEXIA (a reading disorder) to remember other cast members lines?? 😂😂
Dave Madden was a regular cast member of "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In". Ah c'mon. Everybody new what Susan Dey looked like naked from her appearance in "Looker". David Cassidy was stereotyped by his role as Keith Partridge. David had a hard time getting acting jobs. Because of his "bubblegum" years, his singing career fizzled. He wasn't taken seriously. David Cassidy did the theme song for the John Larroquette show. His name wasn't listed in the credits and wasn't revealed until the end of the show when David made a guest appearance.
As far as who sang on the show, that would be David Cassidy, period. Shirley Jones was a proven gifted singer but she didn't sing on the recordings. All the recordings were done in a recording studio. The musicians who played on the Partridge Family recordings were members of "The Wrecking Crew". They were given credit from the first album-on.
