It does not matter if you are personally open with your sexuality and whatever. You don't do that shit with your employees.

@@Urine_ right, fking weird
Interesting that Lizzo feels that because her ex employees were allegedly previously told they were being inappropriate on tour, it must mean that there's no possible way Lizzo could have been inappropriate herself.
Yeah people refuse to acknowledge the possibility that maybe the dancers were “inappropriate” because Lizzo fostered and encouraged that behavior. What you permit, you promote.
An employee wasn’t even fired for being inappropriate - she resigned
Classic DARVO response from a narcissist. There's no accountability here whatsoever, just victim blaming and deflecting.

@@almondmilksoda Just a heads up that anyone can be abusive. Not all narcissists are abusive and not all abusers are narcissists, and we really need to stop armchair diagnosing people as narcs. It's a legitimate cluster B disorder and extremely stigmatized.
You can be a narcissist and an abuser, but DARVO can happen from just about any kind of abuser.
Exactly. Another interesting point is that ‘inappropriate’ behavior could mean something completely different as that’s subjective.. Lizzo’s idea of ‘inappropriate’ behavior could be the dancers refusing to do or say certain things when asked or told to for example
She said Chris Brown was her favorite person. If they came out and said she eats babies, I'd believe it.

That's awful😑
It's probably under the guise of "it's just my advice"🫤
Interesting!
Projection is wild. I'm so sorry. No one should be judged or mistreated for their weight.
Omg right!! The projection is crazy.
I'm disappointed, but I've become so jaded about celebrities (and people in general) that when someone turns out to be a complete monster it doesn't shock me anymore. It feels like the norm now and that wears me down.
100% agree with that. I cannot comprhend how difficult it is for some people (especially celebrities) to just do the bare minimum of being a good/average person. Don't bother/harm others and just be ok. It's SO EASY to do, you don't need to do anything but mind your own business and -if you actually want to put in effort, oh noooo- maybe help one another!? I don't get it man.

MY THOUGHT EXACTLY!!! Like I saw people on tiktok trying to say that they lied because of the audition video where one of the alleged victim said that she loved her time there. I mean, how many people victim of abuse lie on the daily about how they are treated? Why should this be any different? Especially when your whole career is on the table like this is so weird to me to see people apologizing already on their take. Come on they are taking it to court they are doing what most skeptical people wants victims to do to prove that they were in fact real victim of abuse I don't get people who don't believe them at all because of ONE video I get wanting to be skeptical but to dismiss it completely I don't.
Off topic but I saw on Instagram you got into your PhD program and I wanted to tell you congratulations 🎉❤️
I dont get how anyone thinks the dancers are lying. Theyre literally risking their careers and basically everything they have for this.
Not to mention 6 more people have come out against lizzo.
I don't doubt that with the details being so specific and the contexts involving other witnesses.
I dont think these women would just blow up their careers or the body positive movement that Lizzo portrays online just for clout. These 3 women have been effected in some way and there needs to be repercussions for pushing religious agendas at work. This also doesnt give people the right to be fat-phobic to Lizzo either.
Then that means u must be new to the internet. People will do anything for clout nowadays.

Growing up, many of the people around me were hyper focused on my virginity. It was a huge topic of debate between my friends as to when and how I should sleep with someone. The pressure I felt from friends, family, and even random acquaintances to have sex was overwhelming and frustrating. I’m glad I waited until after I graduated high school to become sexually active, and it hasn’t affected my life negatively in any way.
me too. my friends were somewhat hyper sexual in high school and i was the only virgin. i hated when the topic of virginity came up cause i knew they would question me about it. i was uncomfortable and had a lot of fear when it came to sex because of insecurity. now i have a better relationship with it while some of those friends suffer consequences from things they did in the past.😬
God that’s awful. I personally struggle w/ being Hypersexual due to some things that have happened to me and even then I’d never want to pressure someone about sex. That’s just gross man. Glad you’re ok :D!!
Lost my virginity at 14 and was wayy to emotionally young and didnt realize it till about 19 20. Although i thought this was about body shapes LOL
I feel like you can’t claim to be body positive and at the same time believe in the antiquated and gross idea that “virginity” has any relevance to a person’s morality or worth. I’m so confused.
I'm honestly so disgusted by these very clearly patriarchal, conservative women dancing on the grave of feminism and body positivity. Fxck you for thinking women deserve any less than men when it comes to sexual pleasure and interactions
For real that shitty concept of virginity is disgusting and caused me so much stress and emotional pain throughout my teen years (fill in the blanks I guess)

The way I see it, at the very least Lizzo exhibited unprofessionalism and cultivated a hostile work environment where the mental and physical health of her dancers was not prioritized. At the most, she committed sexual assault, endangered the health and wellbeing of her staff, and discriminated against them. Neither of those scenarios are representative of someone I’d want to support.
i was a huge lizzo fan. as a fat person i could identify SO hard with her lyrics, i saw her in concert, i really felt something as someone with a fat body finally being able to really see someone with a similar body type to my own being sexy, successful, confident, and open with mental health struggles. to find out she is this kind of person behind closed doors is infuriating, disappointing, painful. i don't tend to form incredibly parasocial relationships, i never assume i know someone based on a public persona, but i wanted to believe she was a good person doing good work for body positivity. this is so disgusting that she's not only acting as a predator, but also one who is shaming other people's weight. my heart hurts for the dancers in the lawsuit and anyone else she made feel unsafe and bad. i hope they win the case and most importantly that they heal.
Lizzo should've spent her time making friends to go to clubs with instead of dragging her backup dancers with her to be her reluctant posse. And about the poor security guard: how do you force someone you have power over to get naked and not recognize that what you are doing is wrong in every facet?
Lizzo has always given me bad vibes. None of these accusations would surprise me if proven true.
Same.
Same!!
Me too. Even though I like some of her songs, I just disliked her as a person from the beginning with no real reason why except I just had a bad feeling about her. This has happened enough in life that I now know that feeling is an indication the person is a bad person, & I’ll eventually find out the person is abusive, backstabbing, sleeps with other people’s husbands, etc. I wasn’t surprised to find out Lizzo is a horrible person, but I am a little surprised about the fat shaming, & I’m surprised that she hadn’t tried to hide her abusuve treatment of others at all. The fact that the documentary maker quit after only 2 weeks is shocking because it means she doesn’t try to play nice with people outside her inner circle. For someone to go through all the stages of abuse so that they’ll give up a major, career changing opportunity after only 2 weeks tells me that it’s hell on earth to be around Lizzo. I hope she’ll be arrested for public indecency the next time she goes out in public half naked now. I can’t stand the celebrities promoting public nudity in society because I don’t want to look at it, but more importantly, it shouldn’t be forced on little kids.
@@southbug27 Oh man, I relate so much to everything you've said. Her public display at that one basketball game was a huge NO for me, and I had totally forgotten about it as well ... in front of children and families, too. That was totally messed up and inappropriate on so many levels. On top of the Amsterdam story - we're getting a peek into her skewed ethics regarding bodily autonomy, privacy, and decency. She is dangerous.
I used to follow Lizzo on SM. I got very tired of all of the posts of her mostly naked. I don't want to see anyone's naked butt all up in my timeline. It was constant. Then she'd cry to the media about the meanies and the haterz commenting on her body. Rinse and repeat. It all became too much "You're all gonna look at me and you're all gonna like it." I'm not sure if that is body positivity or manipulating a captive audience. Either way, I believe this story because I think Lizzo get off on making people feel uncomfortable.
I think most sensible people don’t care much about someone’s body weight. It’s the lack of class and lack of impulse control that a lot of people take issue with.
She has always made my spidey senses tingle. I never saw her as genuinely nice or likeable. Not surprised in the least. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
oh same!!
People can think all they want how fabricated all these statements are... but no one in their right mind would fake admitting to piss themselves out of extreme stress like that. It's one of the most humiliating experiences to lose bodily autonomy like that, especially during such an important time like a dance rehearsal.
Never meet the people you admire (and look up to), you'll be disappointed - Proust
I truly believe (as a chubby girl also) that being deeply involved in body positivity stems from some big insecurities. It really doesn't surprise me that she's body shaming/weight shaming others
She seems obsessed with it. Someone who is actually comfortable and happy with themselves don’t need so much external validation.
They’re actually fighting against each other on who’s a “real fat person” and who gets to cry on tiktok about it and who doesn’t. It’s used to bully and shame others now; turning into what they hate.
They also really depend on these bigger celebs. Remember when they trashed and body shamed (how ironic…) Adele and Rebel when they lost weight? Literally crying because “they had no one else to represent them”, obsessively hooked on them and finding happiness in others.
Body neutrality is healthier. You don't have to love it. You don't have to be insecure about it. A body is a body, that's all.
@@jazzisbadatnames I like that.
The body positive girlies are the worst offenders when it comes to commenting on other people's bodies
It’s so hard to find actual role models in todays world and the fact that behind the scenes Lizzo is the type of person that she tries to stand against ( a fat shamer) really just gives me no hope
I'm really surprised by how much these allegations against Lizzo bother me. I like a few of her songs, but don't follow her on socials and don't know that much about her. I did think she was a nice, unproblematic, talented person who achieved a lot by working her ass off. I realize now I was rooting for her. I'm a bit saddened by this and can't exactly say why.
Maybe because we root for the "underdog" and the people we think are nice. I can understand how bad you feel but it's not your fault, I imagine she's a good liar to get so many fans
i felt the same way only being a fan of a couple of her songs and i think another answer is that her brand and public image is anchored in beliefs of body positivity and respect for others far more than other artists. so while it would still be disappointing to hear a different artist is abusive to their dancers and body shamed, lizzos specific image makes the whole situation reek of hypocrisy and irony. its particularly saddening because she was supposedly standing up against those issues
I worked in corporate positions my whole life, started at 16 as a secretary. Literally EVERY SINGLE WORKPLACE I was harrassed, hit on, assaulted, groped and more. One company, my bosse's boss stripped naked and ran into the ocean at night time under a streetlight as i sat frozen by fear in the car with my boss and another male on our team. then my boss stripped down and did the same. They were all drunk. I have a hundred more stories that would blow people's mind.
My dad was a pastor and i grew up in a household with strict sexual restrictions and no body autonomy. Virginity, mine in particular because I'm the youngest with only an older brother (who also abused me), was always a topic of discussion. Youth pastors hit on me, one night as a deacon drove me home from babysitting for his 2 and 3 year olds, he thought it would be a good idea to pull the car over and tell me he loved me and wanted to be my first. I was 14. There is nowhere safe for a woman. Every man is a potential perpetrator. Now I am mostly a hermit at 45. Isn't life fun?
I'm so sorry so many people have been that disgusting towards you. I hope you're doing better now
I am so, so sorry. That was horrible. You never should've had to go through that. I hope you have found and will find people who are safe and treat you well.
I am so sorry. This is was crushing and horrifying to read. I understand if these words may not mean anything but I hope you can further heal and feel safe and you have been SO brave. This is so disgusting and upsetting to learn - what life for women truly is like. I hope every girl and woman stays safe from men somehow or some way.
I got reminded of men in some deranged subreddit praising this kind of upbringing of women. It makes women have no sexual knowledge, understand of their genitals/sexual organs, if the female orgasm even exists, and aside from being financially dependent on men, their social maneuverability is also so limited that they're basically hermits who don't have any life experience at all. How do you expect someone like that to NOT be completely dependent on men for basic survival? This is what men truly want for women.
@@sabsain2399 yep I turned into a hermit to retreat to safety now. It’s lonely but at least I’m safe.

Narcissists tend to do and say contradictory abusive things to keep their victims on their toes. It’s hard to defend oneself when you’re trying to both understand and explain your bully’s/abuser’s irrational behavior. 😕
Idk how to feel about this, the claims seem a bit extreme but if Lizzo can love Chris Brown, I'm sure she has loose morals and ethics to begin with. And if its enough to go to court, I think she's done for
Lizzo's definitely not a girl's girl.
All of this sounds like a dynamic that includes gratification from control/coercement of people too intimidated to say no and enjoying sadistic humiliation.
One thing I’ve noticed about some of the body positivity people is it’s only about positivity for their bodies. I saw a video about body positivity and many of the comments were about skinny people not getting an opinion, which seems very non inclusive and not very body positive.
Yeah, that’s always made me sad. Meanwhile my body positivity is “every body is good other than mine” lmao
@@froggy5748Oof I felt this one lmao
The sad thing is that the body positivity movement was first created for people with physical disabilities. Not body shapes or weight. It wasn't made to shame abled bodies, it was just to bring an educative light to what its like with a disability and humanize those with them.
It then turned into fat positivity only. Idc abt anyones stance on that, but hijacking a movement for the disabled to uplift somethig else entirely only was pretty fucking gross. Disabled people still use the term, but it's definitely been soiled by the toxic crew who use it to shame those of thinner weights and mask their insecurities behind a veil of "positivity"
Just saying, if your "positivity" requires you to attack others in any way, then it's just not positivity. I get it, larger weights have been villianized for decades, but idk how bullying others who most of the time have nothing to do with the discrimination is supposed to help your cause.
Its redirected aggression stemming from jealousy.
@@BlurryNova Yes yes yes. this is my main 'issue' with the movement. it belonged to disabled people. the majority of disabled people cannot change their bodies. weight is something that naturally fluctuates and can be changed by most people.

@@paige5841 but like
Why
And yeah someone had to have made it up. It was actually made to value ones self and technically means "not attached to a man" and a woman who was one in herself.
It wasn't made up for purity, or to shame women, but to signify a strong woman who's independent.
And it's also a complete social construct. I have never heard someone call an animal a virgin. It's completely made up by us humans and through the years people have twisted virginity into being something we do for men and not for ourselves. It doesn't appear anywhere in nature
It was entirely made up.

Even IF Lizzo were innocent in all this - this is the perfect example in why you don’t make friends out of your employees. It only takes a few bruised egos to suddenly turn entirely consensual extreme sexual acts into “I was forced to bc of the power dynamic”.
They were forced to be friends w her it seems tho

Wtf. Do you think a secretary under a boss is not being influenced by the innate power dynamic that exists no matter what even if they consent to it?

Toxic how?
I really don't believe that being unhealthy should be idolized, and now we know lizzo is both unhealthy physically and mentally. I truly hope she seeks help.
It feels like it's a horrible mismatch between a hella sexually comfortable/innapropriate boss in a power dynamic with a group of people pleasers who weren't able to say no to things they were VERY uncomfortable doing. It sounds like the employees were very hurt, but they didn't walk away from a golden opportunity that was in itself hurting them. They should have let the rope go as soon as they became uncomfortable, but I can see why they tried to stick it out. Everybody should feel confident leaving a job that doesn't allow you to go to the bathroom. The Quiggly stuff is friggin weird though.
I never thought of her as an icon. I always saw her for what she was. An arrogant brat whose ego is ten times her size. As a chubby black girl myself, I have no issue with bigger people. 16:02 - 17:37 - Thank you. Somewhat off topic but this portion of the video hit home so much harder for me than I think you realize. I was raised Roman Catholic, and the concept of virginity has shaped me as a person in lots of very frustrating ways. Even worse, despite being a 22 or so year old woman at the time, when my older sister found out I had lost my virginity - she lost her mind. She got super upset with me and guilted me for it, and on top of that complained to me how she was so proud of me and would BRAG to her friends about me being innocent, which only added to her own disappointment. It was bizarre and extremely uncomfortable, I hated it and how it made me feel. Its exactly what I was trying to discredit when choosing to be sexually active. Your words were INCREDIBLY validating and comforting. Thank you, you said it perfectly
So I’m gonna play devil’s advocate here. Employer to employee relationship may differ a lot from business to business. Let’s say Lizzo and her cast and crew were always open to be sexually free, go to strip clubs, etc. However, three new employees might enter the group and not be part of the same dynamic. It’s hard to tell. I do understand we should always be careful about the lines we cross in professional environments because if one out of 100 people disagree with a practice, there’s a problem. However, in a more artistic environment we feel like we might be less formal and treat others as though they’re friends. I’ve seen a lot, trust me. But I do agree that it was very ill-managed to just assume that EVERYONE was in the same wagon.
Agreed, plus I was thinking why didn't the one take the time off when it was offered? Would that have avoided the further mess (er no pun intended) Due to the pressure of the situation and likely losing their job entirely is my guess. Not right no matter what happened or why, though.
The time off came with the stigma of “not working hard enough,” she was very (realistically) afraid of her taking PTO being used against her.
Lizzo wanted to hire entourage who had to be "loyal". That's just sick, they are trying to keep the job in a almost non existent market of overweight dancers so they would feel like pleasing her when she had such unreasonable demands. And a person who has nothing to gain by saying it as they are not in the lawsuit said the stories echo her experiences working for Lizzo. It's a job, you are not the mob, they do not have to be your friends and little mini me's.

I know NOTHING about lizzo... But the allegations should be very provable, as they're incredibly outrageous... If not, it'll be their word against hers... Which doesn't work out well for plaintiffs...
I think the pending lawsuit may mean that any evidence against her that's not already publicly available had to be handed over to the court and now can't be released again until the proceedings are over.
If they had this evidence at their disposal and they wanted to rally support, they should have released at least something BEFORE filing the lawsuit. Strange that the first I learned about the situation has been nothing but hearsay...

@ 15:25 you say how sexual harassment and Christianity don't align in your mind. I like to share my perspective as someone who grew up in a very abusive household. Those things do align, they are used as weapons and rules and shame and guilt in Christian abusive households. I wonder if lizzo came from such a family, hasn't gone to therapy, and is repeating the trauma she grew up with.
It's just a thought...
Can confirm. Christian-raised women grow up with an internalized Madonna-Whore complex. This situation can seem bizarre to those who have never been around the same culture, but it isn't surprising at all to me.
I love how this story keeps going back to bananas, among all the wild accusations.
I'm seeing people in the comments on different videos about Lizzo, the people in the comments saying to body shame her and they excuse it by saying: "She body shamed others so we should do it back." I recommend watching Big Girls if you want to see for yourself. The dancers are constantly told they can be fired atm. Lizzo and the team also put the dancers through a sexual expression and modesty test that crossed personal boundaries both physical and religous imo.
“Good work in the world.” 😳

I hope they didn’t get STD’s from eating those Bananas
Probably not, sex work is pretty well regulated in Amsterdam.
I love the twilight t-shirt.
I'm not sure what to think yet.. but I guess there has to be some kind of evidence for an investigation and a lawsuit.. disappointing. And I'm not a fan of her music, but I liked the body positivety message. Oh well.. 🤷🏻♀️
I think the allegations are so outrageous that their has to be proof in order for them to do anything in court...
@@ffa2dramachickExactly.
Mr. Quigley, from All In The Family? 😆
I was considering resubscribing but you’re at 666,000 subscribers
I've listened to her music too and it's cool. I felt weird about her in a mysterious way. I would look at her while watching her interviews or while on a show where she gave a tour of her home, and felt like she has a different side to her but was trying too hard to seem nice. There's something about her that would make me change the channel on the radio. So when I heard this news I automatically thought to not judge because I wasn't there. I can't help but believe the allegations. I dated a musician and I know what it's like. The stuff that happens is too much for a lot of people to deal with. What they said is believable. And I was reminded that sometimes some of us are sensitive to energy and can feel vibes. There is something that lizzo needs to work on and own up to. I think that all the support she received for trying to bring something visually new to music performance really got to her and made her think she's invisible and can get away with anything. That's not cool. She needs some humble pie.
As for you I really like your t-shirt and background. It's simple but it's still giving wholesome classic youtuber and I really like it. And I appreciate your take on this. Your opinions were on point.
SIX MORE DANCERS CAME OUT SINCE IT BROKE. LIZZO’s screwed 😂😂😂
As a fat girl I have spent time around fat girls that are try hard it's like they're trying to be an edgelord and a pick me at the same time
Unrelated but that t-shirt really ties this altogether
Love your tshirt
Glare, your so fair! 😍😘😘
Those dancers have way much to loose if they arent believed, they wont get hired by other celebrities... I doubt they would risk saying something not true when their whole career is at risk...
i never thought she was a icon and i never liked her music always heard it against my will
I used to work in an office and once had a postcard announcing an upcoming art show pinned to the wall of my cubicle. The card featured an abstract brush and ink drawing of male and female torsos viewed from the rear. The artist used as few lines as possible to illustrate the two bodies, requiring a bit of study to understand what the image was. To see the card, one had to come into my cubicle. I was told by my boss to remove the card as it could be considered a form of sexual harassment or creating a toxic workplace to display the image where co-workers could see it. Encouraging employees to attend and participate in sexual acts at a strip club (in Amsterdam, some clubs feature actual sex performances) is more than sexual harassment.
