Great Tutorial, But structure wise the column has no connection with the footing. It is a failure if you don't anchor the column with the mat...Anyways great teaching...👍

@balkan architect - one thing though. You can't just have a column separated that way from foundation. The rebar needs to be "anchered" in foundation. Or else it won't be good during the earthquake...

Hi Sir Balkan. Just a quick note on this tutorial. As we can see on 11:09, the Images for Shape 01, 21 and 51 are not matched with the columns A, B, C, D. I also tried your way and I got the same result. Is there any enhancement/solution to this issue?
Thank you for making these videos. They are very helpful. There are, however, a couple of suggestions that I would like to make. Double the size of your pointer and make it solid black. Try not to shake the mouse and the pointer between commands. It make it hard to follow what you are doing on screen.

There is a slight problem on your video though as the straight bars image shows the A dim has length but in the schedule the A dimension is O for the straight bars but dimension B is noted as a figure. On a straight bar how can there be a Dim B
Curious if any structural drafters are really using are Revit “in the real world” for foundation design drawings c/w rebar schedules, custom bend cut lists? If not, what’s being used? What I don’t like about revit is the lack of precise dimension input for offsets/placements….
the modify/ place structural columns, temporary options are way too different on revit 2020, It has to be done by 2 clicks, one for the bottom and the other for the top of the column, there are no "Heigth" or "unconnected options". I just clicked on the column option from the structure button, as shown on the video and the options to place the column are not the same. Or could it be I'm on the wrong template?
Question, how easy is it to add rebar between two entities? With a footing like this you would typically pour the footing with a bunch of bars protruding from it and then lap those with the column rebar and pour the column. Is this something Revit can do?

yes you are right. in order to do that just select the rebar and hit the edit sketch button and then sketch it in x-section

It was a good guide on how to use a rebar function. But you didn't do properly reinforcement of the column, rebars must be longer.

Yes
Rebars are not shown as 10M, 16M. They are shown as #4, #5. How should I change that?
You can load your shape code from the library... If you installed your software properly you should have it in the library...

No. The letters A, B, C, and D are default dimensions measured by Revit. Those images were made by Balkan himself.
