Louisiana here, yeah the heat requires 3 to 4 wardrobe changes like a Kardashian.
Then end up naked and afraid of the mosquitoes.
Lol 😂
From deep South LA and your statement is 100% correct.
qad exodus for tough animals and grim reaper fatal steel 3 blade for white tails.
Just ordered a 6 pack a Daysix evos, first year using fixed blade broadheads so we will see how it goes
Did you retune for the warrior's since they are a different arrow diameter? would end up being a bit knock low compared to the RIPs if you didnt change the tune at all.
Good point, I was thinking the same thing.
@TimConnor13 dont know why you have not hit 100k yet your stuff is great man I dont care for yalls light arrows but who cares shoot what ya want.. keep the stuff coming
Magnus is my go to for broadheads
Tim, I’ve been watching you since you started tagging along with the group n am very impressed with your progress and where you’re at now. You’re knowledgeable, kind, very honest, and your blogs are just simply said-awesome. Thank You! In regard to your test fatigue on a hot day might be a consideration leading to the test outcome? Try running the test back starting with the gold tips first.
Thanks again!
Beginning bow hunter here. This video is extremely informative on what's the real significance for somebody of my skill level with only a few months of practice, which means that at around my comfort level (under 40 yd) there shouldn't be a significant difference between cheap(ish) and expensive arrows.
iron will 125 wide single bevel, second season using iron will, first time using this style.
After living out west and shooting long distances it was obvious that the tighter tolerance arrows made a difference. On the other hand I have moved to northern Minnesota where 50 yards is a stretch for hunting. Shooting “budget friendly arrows” here I think that human error is more an issue over arrow tolerance. A properly tuned bow and consistent broadheads are more critical in the midwestern whitetail woods. Out west the expensive arrows or high tolerance could make a difference. I have a swacker, a rage, and the German Jager in my quiver. Going to head to Michigan for some doe hunting and broadhead testing.
Hey Tim, love the content. Would you consider doing this test again but with mechanicals? I’d be interested to see if there is as big of a difference when using mechanicals. Just a thought. Thanks!
Hey Tim, thanks for telling us to put a bow in your hands and start shooting a bow (Josh and Tim fireside chat). I ordered a diamond edge 320 from SVA via Amazon. I adjusted the draw weight to 48 lbs and fired my first arrow! Made me feel something, swelling up inside me, was looking for something to keep my old self physically active. I believe that I'll have a better quality of life and I have you to thanks. Also you're channel is growing fast, keep doing what you're doing it's working for us.
I switched from the original muzzy 3 blade to 2in mechanicals and I'll never go back. I've switched up with arrows alot but have used the fmj 5mm 300 spine the last 3 years and love them total arrow weight is around 525g w/broadhead and I have no penetration problems through bone or anything hell went in behind the shoulder shooting almost straight down and busted through the opposite side leg bone with 2in MECHANICALS! Switching to the new beast broadheads I watched him use them on alot of big game and they seemed to work really well!!
Thinking about tooth of the arrow broadheads.
they rust super easy
Hot as a biscuit, my man I'm in South Florida. The heat index today is 111 and it's 94% humidity. It's a lot being streamed like a pot of crabs. I'm drenched in titty sweat just walking down to my mailbox.
Lol!
“My state is hotter than your state”
Hunting whitetails mostly in swamps and river bottoms in central MA and maaan the Grim Reaper WTS puts em down wicked quick!! I do keep an iron will single bevel in my quiver if I feel hard angle or distance shots but in the 3 years I’ve been using the WTS my swamp dragging excursions have drastically reduced
I didn’t know Josh was Canadian 😂
We’re not that far from the border
We’re not that far from the border
C eh N eh D eh.
@@traceelliot1360
hahahahaha yaa i am a Canadian and that is a massive stereotype of Canadians but is is funny that Amaricans joke about it. no affence taken don't worry.
Lol
Used the fixed Muzzy 3 blade all my life. This year I’m going to try out Evolution Outdoors hybrid blade “Hyde”
Using 125 gr Tooth of the arrow XL
I’ve been tempted to try these as well
Grim Reaper mini mags!
I have loved my slick trick standards
Gonna be using the QAD Exodus on caribou in a couple weeks!
I think if you use blazer vane will make better result, the current vane is too small !
Last year I shot viper tricks and got a pass through on a bull elk and 4 whitetails. This year I'm rolling with day 6 evo. Fingers crossed they hold up, the viper tips would be trashed after each animal
Rocket meat seeker 2” 3blade love them !
I shot micro hades 100 grain a couple years ago. Flew great, but didn’t find the blades to be that durable at all. I went back to the old tried and true, Thunderhead 100s. They worked great last year, just like they always do. I won’t ever be changing broadheads again.
If I go with mechanicals, I will probably try G5 T2 and fix blade QAD exodus
I live in Central Florida and work in the road construction management and it’s been in the mid 90’s for the past couple of months. So suck it up buttercup. I hunt South Carolina and Georgia and use Shwacker and QAD Exodus both 100gr. Love the vids keep up the good work.
for years Ive used Slick Tricks 125gr
Was going to go iron will for elk but after born and raised test I’m going exodus elk and sevr new ti hybrid four blade for every thing else
Thanks for the video! I was wondering if you could do this test these at a shorter distance, say 50 or 60 yards. I'm too nervous/afraid the animal I'm hunting would spook and move with the time it takes an arrow to travel 100 yards. Just a thought on my realistic abilities and respect for the animal. Thanks for your all your hard work and videos, keep 'em comin'!
Still shooting Ramcat diamondbacks 100g
When switching between two types of arrows, I find I need to re-tune (micro) for the arrow change. Slight spine difference makes quite a bit of difference in broadhead flight even between expensive brands.
Sight in before scoring ends ?
More shots would mitigate any inconsistencies (possibly ! Somewhat !)
I would not have said the groups seemed conclusively worse ?!?
I'm either going with Sevrs, or staying true with my mega or deadmeats
Running the Simmons Mako this year.
Best bow content on youtube! Keep up the great vids!
Fun vid. Can you try 40 or 50yds?
Wassup Brother. That was a pretty fair test. Did the wind maybe effect the larger diameter Warriors a little? Just a thought. I'm hunting whitetails this year but haven't decided on what broadhead I want to use. I have somewhat narrowed it down though. For fixed blades, I'm torn between an Iron Will wide single bevel 125gr with bleeders, a VPA Omega 125gr, the Grim Reaper Hades 125gr, or a G5 Montec 125gr. And I'm thinking of trying the Beast broadhead for a mechanical. There are just so many great options. I'm leaning towards the Iron Wills and the VPA's for their reusability and ease of sharpening. The G5 Montec's have a practice broadhead that isn't sharp so that helped them make my list. So I wouldn't be dulling my broadheads during practice. Sorry for the short book for a comment.
You're inspirational and thanks for letting us know about your beans; it's always nice to talk about the weather 😂.
I will be using Magnus ser razors this season like I have for the last 12 years.
Sevr 1.75 qad exodus, and nap spitfire always in my quiver.
Always test your gear. Great video homie.
Only whitetail hunting in the Midwest this year so 150 hades pro 4 blade and IW wide 150s
100 grain magnus blackhornets have been my goto the last few years
Where at in upper Michigan!? I’m from alpena! You gotta come to next years Michigan tac
From the deep north
I hate the summer I like it cold and I live in north Florida but my wife wont move to Alaska lol
Lol big difference between AK and FL
@@TimConnor13 yea true but I can get warm you can run around here naked and still have a heat stroke lol at least there I can dress for warmth etc.. cant do anything here to help with the heat..
Different diameters grains per inch and possibly spines. Hard to say this was a fair test.
This was my test.. do yours however you want
Wow. Testy. Just pointing out that the gold tip weren’t tuned. I’ll bet they will shoot straighter than 99 percent of archers can shoot.
I’m gonna try the rek xp after watching the Lusk review. Will still have the sevr 2.0 as well
What’s your thoughts on exodus? Too close to the rest? Fit over the collars?
Not the beans!😂
Cool beans are good beans 🫘
Ozcut elite 3 blade. Rip xv .300
Strap on...Strap off...The Strapper.
Very cool video 🔥
Thank you dude
I’m using the beast broadheads 2”and 2.3”
I don’t have a range like that where I live it is mostly hay bails and they are falling apart and the furthest shot is 50 yards and the arrow goes through the hay
Montec 125 vented
You guys should REALLY try Sirius arrows... Ive shot a LOT of arrow brands and IMO nothing compares to Sirius.
Did you bare shaft and broadhead tune the GTs?…if not, likely the difference. My vote is a do over!!!
Man I feel like my ego is gonna be hurt by the end of this video 😂
Im thinking about the QADS for my broadhead
Do you ever use slowmo to asses your arrows?
I never used broadheads in my 30years doing archery😅
Going with either the ramcat diamondbacks or QAD exodus. Gotta check if it needs to full or swept for New York.
Full they consider the swept to be barbed
G5 Montec for me this year. Have you used it or tested it yet Tim? I’ve heard nothing but great things.
Getting some rage chisel tip mechanicals!
100 grain
I'm out in Carnation WA and haven't wanted to shoot because of the heat the last week. Don't know how you're doing it over in Spokane...
Trifecta 125gr solid right bevel
1 3/8 pro series 3 blade reapers. Im kind of a broadhead junkie. I probably have 12 or 14 different brands on the shelf..
Magnus stinger buzzcuts again this year. It ain’t broke so I’m not going to try to fix it.
Switching between fatal steels and iron will 125 wide
I'm trying out the magnus single bevel 150 and the black hornet 150
What part of upper Michigan are you from
Magnus 150gr blackhornet
apa King cobra -Easton full metal jackets- and muzzy or g5 125’s in Alberta Canada
Hold up… what are those bow legs??
Let's go! 🏹
You ever shoot bare bow?
Crimson Talon Croc 100 grain
Magnus Single Bevel 150gn this year.
How can you compare arrows with broadheads against arrows with field points,it’s an invalid test. If your shooting a 4 blade yah better have 4” vanes if yah want them to fly true
I don't think its an accurate test, the warriors were shot after you already shot a dozen arrows. so I feel fatigue could play a part in being less accurate with the warriors. Just my opinion. Love your videos.
kayuga tri zot
Where in Michigan did you grow up?
Now try it at 50 and see what the change is? Id bet you would be real close in score.
While offering some great content testing like this in the wind at this distance is really useless. At long range do you know exactly where the pin was at the break? Of course, it’s your video so my opinion isn’t worth much but testing at a more reasonable yardage like 50 or 60 on a calm day would definitely give better feedback. It’s a good idea to see how your broadheads fly at distance in case a follow up shot is needed I’ll agree. For those mule deer and antelope hunters a 50 +- shot is common so knowing if one has selected the right broadhead is paramount. Just saying!
Did I miss the distance these are being shot at ?
100 yds
What distance was this? I missed that part.
100yrds
Qad exodus all day
FIRST LETS GOOOO
Speed makes kinetic energy . Forward mass at that close is what made the difference.
