After all of the major ground work has been done, it is now time to start preparing for planting!
Interesting to see how they are planted and also the different irrigation method used. I work at an almond orchard in Australia (NSW) and we just use the drip lines full of holes. But do like the idea of the sprinklers.
Nice to see you again! Man, I had no idea almonds were so labor intensive.
Quite a bit to get an orchard established!
Wow!!! That’s my brother driving the tractor!!
Güzel bir bahçe olacak.
Nice to see drip on almond orchards. Remember driving out to Oakdale and seeing square miles of almond orchards flooded in the middle of summer. Humidity was insane since so much evaporation.
Great job!! Enjoying your uploads.
Great video Sir. Hope to see more.
Us Californians need all the help we can get, to let the rest of the country know we’re still producing for the country.
You are one of those great Ambassadors.
Hope all are well and safe.
Thank you!
Almond my favorite nut on such a large scale wow Keep it up Sir 💎❤️
Ya good to hear from you. Bring us more videos!!!
Hopefully with a new computer set up for editing I will be able to get more out!
Amazing views!! Love these type of videos! I know life gets in the way, but would love more of these videos showing how you farm and your everyday life farming… great content! Thanks again!
Great job Sir. Hope you get the bang fot buck.

Great work greeting from algeria🖒🖒🖒
I do deep ripping, disking and marking in Washington state for Douglas fruit and a bunch of other farms, field look amazing when everything is done by GPS 👍
Please show us the pruning
Came here cuz you were on the off the husk podcast with millenial farmer, sure glad I did
Thanks! that was such a fun experience!
Very nice sir. why are pruning the scaffold branch in planting time ?
You may have already said it, but do you prune your almonds each year?
Id like to get a peach/almond graft tree for my backyard. Where can I find one.
Grettings from Bulgaria love your Content .. Could u share with a comment about your fertilizer programs and results ? What Fertilizers do you prefer and what amounts of input u do u prefer annual or bigger dosage of Potassium or Phosphate each few years .
I appreciate the love! I probably won't get into too many specifics on here just because I don't have much time to reply.
U remind me of a guy named Alex.
Need help pruning its that time to shape them up
How many of those transplants end up surviving?
Great video thanks for showing i got a question what is the name of the almonds varrities and do you know if the have shipment out side us. Thank you.
We planted nonpareil and aldrich. I don't think they ship outside of the US.
@@CaliforniaFarmer thank you
So cool!! Very interesting..Please do videos on this orchard as it progresses..That would be neat to follow and watch..Thx for the video!! PS... How long does it take an almond tree to bare fruit?
They will produce fruit for a long time, but commercial production such as this tends to taper off between 20-25 years.
@@CaliforniaFarmerHow long does it take for newly planted trees til they can start being harvested..
@@davesargenti9876 around 3 years
great work. have been watching your videos for a while now. Would love to have you make a video on SGMA if it applies to you and how do you work around it.
Great video, good to see how orcharding is done in california USA, appreciate how you explain the processes. What is the type of sprinkler with range limiter you are using? Im also guessing you use 20mm lateral tube down the row? Thanks
Thank you! We use netafim micro sprinklers that produce a 9ft diameter covered area. While the trees are this young, we have them reduced to 3ft diameter.
Could you show us the GPS unit in the tractor some day?
I should have done that! If I have the opportunity to do so again, I will get some footage.
How many acres was that? What kind of money does it take to get the trees in the ground? Once planted how long until you see any crop from those trees?
We planted an additional 125 to our existing orchards so we are now up to 250 acres of trees. All ill say is that it takes A LOT of money! After 3 years from planting we will harvest our first crop.
@@CaliforniaFarmer I’ve always been curious how the economics of a large farm work. An investment in new trees knowing there is no return on that for 3 yrs is crazy. How do you keep the cash flowing for that 3 yr period.
@@CaliforniaFarmerWow ❤️Beautiful video 😀😇🥰 , where is this farm located. What price is the plain agricultural land and what is the cost of water and plantation and what is the yield and selling price of the crop. ?
How much distance you are keeped between plant to plant and row to row?
Please must reply me
14 feet by 22 feet
@@CaliforniaFarmer can we plant it in high density .
4 feets by 12 feets if the rootstock is wild peach?
@@CaliforniaFarmer So in 14X22 feet pattern , how many plants can be planted?
California California California 😍 USA ❤️ The beautiful state with beautiful fruit on planet 💎 love from Pakistan ☺️
NO WATER FOR YOUR ALMONDS!!
Depends on where you farm in California!
@@CaliforniaFarmer You mean you have water scarcity?
