In this video I went fishing at an abandoned lake that's drying up in hopes of catching some big bluegill bream and possibly even some crappie. I wanted to use some live minnows for bait but unfortunately the bait store was sold out so all I had to fish with was a white jig that had a spinner attached to it. I hooked up with my first fish on the second cast and I knew at that point the fish were actively feeding in this lake and there was no telling what I would catch. After 3 hours of steady fishing, I caught multiple species of fish including the bluegill and crappie I was hoping for. By the end of the trip, I was certain this abandoned lake was once a big producer of quality size fish. #bluegill #fishing #fish #stompindirt

Roadrunners are my go to when trying new water , everything will go after a roadrunner , even the small ones can catch a good sized bass , great video !

How can you fish in a "Dried-up Lake"?? The meaning of "Dried-up" is no water according to the dictionary.

Dried up could also mean that the fishing is not good, " they're not biting, this lake has dried up ".
U can see from the banks as well as the center cracked dried mud that the lake has dried up into a small pond where the water was deepest.

Whats a good rod and reel for bluegill or crappie
Budget friendly , ugly stick makes a good rod in ultra light. I personally like to use penn reels but there are cheaper brands out there that are good as well. I really like Ozark trail rods from Walmart for $10 I use them in multiple videos an I've landed some big size fish with them an have had no problem

Unfortunately the homeowners no longer fish this lake because it's drying up, therfore they abandoned it so I'm told. Hope this helps and I appreciate you watching!

Even way out here in California, red worms 18 inches under a bober, we catch 15-20 bluegill on a good day.
