      @@doupard nah you're right, out of that list only MIKE was in the actual sLUms group, but when you hear anyone refer to either the sLUms network or sLUms movement, they mean the group of artists that were birthed around the group - as in artists like Siifu or Maxo
      in the same sense that Vince Staples, Steve Lacy and the members of The Internet not named Syd or Matt Martians were all a part of the Odd Future movement, whilst not actually being a part of Odd Future itself

      You’re tripping every decade has a massive influential group of rappers. Late 1980s: NWA had multiple successful breakout rappers. Mid 1990s: Wu-Tang Clan, and they still completely sell out live shows. Even G-Unit in the 2000s.

      Sleepy music, yeah because humans can’t feel more than one emotion. This gotta be the most bland ass opinion too, feels like you went on 4chan and searched up “best hip hop album” and ran with it

    I love Earl, especially his newer Billy Woods/MIKE style but you act like that sound is accessible to the majority of hip hop fans when in reality, it really isn't. Most of Earls early fans have stopped listening to him after I Don't Like Shit. I think he's great but he can't be the leader of the new school for 3 very big reasons 1 he is far too old to be a leader of the new school and 2 he is too underground and inaccessible to mainstream listeners and 3 Bill Woods and ELUCID were doing that sound way before Earl and it was Billy Woods that influenced him to make the change for SRS. Milo (now R.A.P Ferreira) was also doing the whole Lo-Fi/slow flow thing going like a decade before Earl did. I see your point though.

    • @DefGoldbloom
      @DefGoldbloom  Před 6 měsíci

      I feel you on all that. My only rebuttal is on your 2nd point, everything I talk about on this channel is in reference to the underground, idc who leads mainstream at all.

      @DefGoldbloom Even with underground, I'd argue Billy Woods is the king of that style. I think Earl is important to that sound and him introducing a lot of those artists to Alchemist has certainly let that style grow. Definitely a pillar within that style of Lo-Fi rap.
