    This entire album is just hit after hit after hit and, in my opinion, is criminally underrated. The number of artists who put their all into their craft to put out some amazing breath taking music that they found to put on this album is just perfect

      Yes. The movie did suck. I loved the music and dove deep into loving how JD did the movie score. I think the Vampire chronicles are sexy as hell, and to have JD and Co do the soundtrack made certain scenes more sensual, than if not. Fo sho!

      It's sad because there was so much potential and a good sorta "Vibe" to the world they created in the movie but it kinda just fell flat.
      Always wished they did a proper Crow movie but did it like this where they get some metal artist and producer to work on the soundtrack with a bunch of other artist and make it part of the movie and shit.

      No it did not suck. I read the books first, and they are just so good, no movie could ever reach them. So no, the movie was great, but the books are just not from this universe.

  • @christineghere2461

    Don't be mistaken, the whole Queen of the Damned soundtrack was written and composed by Johnathan Davis, this is HIS music, he just didn't get to sing on the official soundtrack because of conflicts with his record label at the time. But it's his voice singing in the actual movie, and you can find the versions with him singing here on youtube (I especially like the Sirius XM versions). The other artists did an ok job, but I think only John can truly do the songs justice, because they're his songs, and his version IS the true version, how the artist intended it to be. In my humble opinion, you should just react to Johnathan's versions of these QOTD songs from here on out, they're amazing, he's a genius, so talented! Great reaction, as always! Keep up the good work!

    • @christineghere2461
      @christineghere2461 Před 2 lety

      Sorry Kurtis, I sure hope none of that came out sounding rude or anything. I just hate that he put all that work into the soundtrack, but then he couldn't even sing on it, and it's HIS music! And he totally nailed it too! His voice was perfect in the movie! You should react to the song "Slept So Long" from this soundtrack, but please do the one with Johnathan's vocals, so amazing!

    you gotta do the Jonathan Davis version! He recorded 5 songs (6 songs unofficially) for the Queen of the damned movie. Contractual obligations did not allow his versions to appear in the movie so he had David Draimen (Disturbed), Wayne Static (Static X), Marilyn Manson, Jay Gordon (Orgy) and Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) sing his songs. I'd highly recommend checking out Jonathan Davis versions of Forsaken, System, Slept So Long, Redeemer, Not Meant for Me (and lost song), Careless

      Jonathans lyrics and voice ended up in the movie but not on the soundtrack. His record label Sony decided to wait til the last minute to tell him he couldn't do the soundtrack so he called up his friends to do it for him. He was with Sony record label at the time and the the movie was shot through Warner Brothers so Sony refused to let him do the soundtrack for the movie.

  • @brymmx
    @brymmx Před 2 lety +1

    It’s basically David Draiman sing over Jonathan Davis. If you listen it has the Korn vibes musically.
    Drawback to the song and album is that usually the music is made for a completed movie. Davis had to create the music so a movie could be made around the songs. So he had to write blind, that’s why he went back for the soundtrack and brought in other rockers to duet the music

    • @sadiekincaid5310
      @sadiekincaid5310 Před rokem

      Jonathan Davis was going to do the soundtrack as well but because of his record label they said no he couldn't do the soundtrack so he brought his friends into do it for him. They said his voice can be in the movie with the songs but he cannot be on the soundtrack singing the songs. People creating the movie kind of gave him a few guidelines to go by but he pretty much had free rein other than that.

    • @brymmx
      @brymmx Před rokem

      Really? I didn’t know that.
      I thought it was the band Korn that he wasn’t allowed to use on the soundtrack. So he brought in the guy who produced 2 or 3 of Korn albums at the time, so they together could get the music as close to Korn without it being Korn.
      I say that because the DVD of Queen of the Damned, at least the copy I have, has an ‘Extra’ about creating the music for the movie and Davis goes through how he went through the process. Usually a band creates music for a finished film not music that the film will be built around.
      I thought in that Extra he said he brought in the other artists to do the music the way he originally wanted it done if he had more time. He was given a weirdly tight time frame for the songs needing to be done because they were starting filming. If you listen to the 4 tracks from the movie soundtrack, you still can clearly hear him.
      The song he does with Chester Bennington is haunting

      "Jonathan Davis did the whole music score for this movie" Incorrect. Richard Gibbs is who did the musical score. Him and JD is who wrote the songs the band in the movie played. JD also sang them in the movie. Also JD makes a cameo in the movie as a ticket scalper just before the big concert.

    The amazing thing about Lestats voice and music in the movie, is that they brought in multiple vocalists and musicians to write and produce the songs. And they combined their vocals to create Lestats voice. Like Korn and the lead singer of Lincoln Park. Even as a kid I was blown away by the sheer effort and artistry in it, the magnitude of it. The music is legitimately the only good and decent thing to come out of that movie. The movie itself was an ungodly dumpster fire of a mess, and was an unnecessary giant middle finger to the source material and the fans, and Anne Rice herself. It's just trash, plain and simple. But the score/soundtrack that came from it. Magnificent. Hopefully you will or have listened to more of the tracks from it.
