As a man in the vinyl wrapping industry - for a first timer - you did awesome. Tips from a pro? Order cheap Chinese plastics and paint them haha.
Really though, gas tanks are extremely difficult, as you mentioned. And the most common practice I see with tanks is 3 pieces. Without going into tons of detail, lots of places use knifeless tape along the top edge, wrap the sides first and get everything tucked and trimmed, cut with the tape and then do the top.
If you really, really, really want 1 piece, start with one of the harder places of the tank (near where your crotch sits) and stretch it out from there. I know 3M works well with heat but like you said you can overdo it - but heat and pull and place, let it cool and then do it again until it looks relatively smooth then flatten it to the tank with your squeegee or fingers.
Also, good choice in colour. But all your bikes look the same! They're all white!

Really appreciate this comment, Andrew! Thanks!
When I was doing my CZcams wrap lessons before starting lol, I saw that tanks are often done in multiple pieces, but CAN be done in one, so I just decided to try. Surprisingly was able to do it. The tank/airbox cover was a different story though. That was a major pain. Thanks for the tip on the best strategy to do it, though. I'm sure it all comes with experience!

Motonosity I dont know if Andrew feels the same way but I stretch and heat around the plastics first before using the squeegee to set everything. If that's a 3M vinyl I would use a blowtorch over the plastics for a final step, it will clear out most if not all of the squeegee scratches/marks, just a quick pass over everything keep the torch moving constantly tho. Also, coming down to wrapping vehicles I remove everything removable possible, trunk spoiler, license plates, front/rear bumpers, fenders, quarter panels if possible helps tuck easier and make it look better. When using the squeegee use a soap and water solution. Just some tips, I'm not a pro by any means but just what I do. Cheers!

I've done several motorcycles and you really don't need expensive vinyl. I've done a couple of motorcycles with Ali Express vinyl with excellent results. As long as it's matte or satin finish it is as easy to apply as more expensive vinyl and looks very nice. I haven't tried gloss, so I can't say what that would be like. I also really like the textured carbon from Ali.

You did an awesome job. Im in the middle of a bike wrap with avery sw900 diamond blue and this stuff isn't for the weak of heart. I got quoted 1k and decided to do it myself. I've got imperfections and some wrinkles but the whole bike is only taking 5x4 to wrap so i can always rewrap and gain experience. This is really not as easy as it looks on tight corners.

I tried wrapping my ninja 400 as hell as plastidipped a couple parts and I tried hydro dip. Long story short I'm redoing it about 2 months later and I am spray painting the parts. It is definitely a pain to wrap motorcycles but if you have the patience and time (I have a small amount of both) take your time with it, have fun and enjoy the process.

Great Looking R6 you got there, it doesn't look like the factory white whit that pearl finish on the vinyl, i liked the video for the awesome looking R6 and the tips.
Using too much heat will over stretch the material, i recommend do most of the wrap using cold stretch, too much heat and the vinyl would make this fingering effect if it's regaining the memories of them, i recommend watching the FESPA videos on Cold Stretch and Triangles.

Tremendous work! What shade or specific color of white is that? It looks amazing and I’m going to wrap my bike soon

So obviously I know a neo chromatic wrap is going to be slot more difficult to.do but how much practice would anyone say is needed to do a neo chromatic wrap and.not destroy the color flip? I've been told you can't stretch the materials much if any at all is this true? I plan on just doing my tank my front wheel fender and the Honda stripes on my matte black fairings so its a matte black and purple neo chromatic pen style design
