They're probably just fucking around, but this sounds AMAZING
Dude has some f'n SNAP man! The sounds he gets out of every part of the kit are so damn tight and punchy. Love how controlled everything is, efficient, low heights, but all kinds of snap in the wrists. He feels like the reincarnation of other incredible drum stylists of eras past - Sonny Greer, Papa Jo...Purdie...through to Yogi Horton. (Yes Purdie is still with us and doing fine). So much style and flair, and groove for days. And he's got all of the modern stuff - individual voices behind or ahead of the beat, backbeat placement, fx. Add all this to his songwriting, production, multiinstrumentalism, singing, rapping, showmanship - you've got a once in a generation talent with a chance at once in a lifetime legend status. Big ups, .Paak is the real thing, blessings for a long productive career.
