My sister in law is moving into a new home and she had this hutch that she just never got around to redoing herself and did not want to take it to her new home. So now we have it and are taking on the task of making it over with all it's hidden needs.

you are so blessed to have such a wonderful husband who works with you. the two of you turn out such beautiful items. i am watching this video of the gray hutch. my father was a carpenter and a "perfectionist". one thing he taught me is in order to get that smooth as glass, even, hard coat finish (like from a factory), it had to be striped, instead of sanded down to the wood, he said it gummed the sand paper! & It does, then it had to be painted with 1st coat, sanded, painted again, sanded, painted and sanded, then it had to be "varnished" and sanded with steel wool. and the paint had to be oil based. i wonder if oil base paint is still available? he'd have "absquandered" to see how wood and pieces of furniture were treated these days. he passed away in 1983. techniques have changed drastically over the years. i agree with a comment, your staging i genius! everything is beautiful. love it. that gray hutch is soooo much prettier when you finished. one other comment, sometimes, i just love your special guests you have POP up in a video now and then. your kitty-cats! i love cats, too.

I always love watching you rehab a piece that many would see as a throw away because of just a little damage. I have to say that I kinda snickered when you and Chris were flipping the pieces over. He is making it look easy. Just a quick flip. I am always looking at my guy just irritated that he can do the same thing while I am over here holding up a leg to support the piece so I can get a better grip. I am a shorty at 5'2". He is 6' and just drives me crazy. I am always grateful for the help though. You and Chris make a great team. I love watching your videos.

After watching you and Chris over the past year and a half ( or longer ? ) I know I can NOT paint my own huge hutch! It has 3 of those glass doors, 3 large glass shelves ( talk about heavy !! ) and the back of the top where the glass shelves are, it has a mirror back. And it has 2 lights in it! I use it for my Library ….I pray the GLASS holds my books, but I only put paperback books on those! I have dream and dream of painting it. Unfortunately after purchasing it at an Auction is when the body gave out 😢. My whole intention of getting it was to paint it!

love it! I did one similar that I used for my focal point in my booth the whole time I was in an antique mall. Loved it. Wound up selling to a state office. But oh my…Yvonne, I am considering painting my china cabinet. eek! It is big with glass shelves and clean lines. I found a Benji Moore gray green I love! And getting ready to have my LR, DR and hall painted…hmm one gray green wall with my cabinet in a darker shade? Oh my!
