    Hi Phil I am Mozungu Robert from KIsaasi, although I'm. Back in the UK at the moment, so many memory's of Acacia Mall. Ryan my son who is in KIsaasi back at school loves it there. The 3D visual ride on the rollercoaster shooting all the dragons, Sharwarma at Meza. We know the owner with the ponytail. They are all. Missed while I am here in the UK. Thanks!!

    Here is my version about the origin of the name kampala, (I learnt it from school)
    Back in the day the Kabaka(king) would move from the palace in mengo to the forest hill (kampala) to hunt Impala's . The locals would say the Kabaka has gone to the "akasozi ke'impala" meaning "a hill of impalas" with time the locals phased out the word" akasozi" giving us " ke'mpala" which eventually became kampala.

    • @evelinebuzige2229
      @evelinebuzige2229 Před 2 lety +7

      I think it's a fusion of the two stories. "Akasozi ke'impala" sounds just about right but we shouldn't forget that it's the British who introduced the name Impala to Buganda. The locals certainly must have had a different name for them before that.

    For some reason the British colonialists like putting up institutions on top of hills. The original 7 hills of kampala are Mengo, namirembe, rubaga, old kampala, makerere, nakasero, and kololo.
    All these hills are occupied by either schools, hospital or some sort administrative institute with a colonial link

      Rubaga had nothing to do with the Brits. Everything Roman catholic was attributed to other countries like France, Italy and/or the Indo-Aryan Goans of India (Christ the King church).
