@@muneyotsuki8164 They have "other people" mentality. Bad things only happen to _other_ people, in other places. But, it'll only take one incident to change up their thinking, just one time for a stranger to walk into _their_ home...THEN the doors will STAY locked.
Same thing goes for anti-gun folks, it only takes one violent encounter, with police arriving _10 minutes after_ innocent blood has been spilled, to change their mind about being a gun owner...IF they survive that is.

He then allows the dude to stay at the door for two hours. Dad doesn't do anything like a restraining order until many more visits occur and then both parents decide not to tell her when he kept it up as not to scare her....yeah let her let her guard down, she SHOULD be afraid, the f. All that aside what for some reason made me more angry is she specified there is no way to see who is at their door without opening it when a peephole is cheap AF and easy to install. Good job parents.

That story about the teens riding their bikes around late at night: the homeless person they encountered was shuffling his feet on the pavement making all sorts of noise doing it and then suddenly has a bike to use to chase them down? Where did that bike come from? Did he pull it out of his backside? Ridiculous.

I never let my sons out of my sight. They did not go to stores alone as kids. Did not walk or ride alone. I’m 60 and did not go out alone as a kid or teen. As an adult I have never put myself in a scary situation. I do not go out at night.

I agree to an extent, but honestly, existing in this world is dangerous these days. Anything could happen at anytime, anywhere. Like you said, make wise choices, but really, there’s no way to be completely safe anymore. You just have to equip yourself the best you can stay safe out there.

Because of the inherent fear-factor associated with white vans. People would be naturally nervous if one approached them, tell themselves they're just being paranoid, let their guard down, then have their worst fear confirmed.
Both are good points, as one is to confuse you into lowering your guard, while the other is to always expect the unexpected.

I’ve listened to 1000’s of these stories I’ve learned 3 things
1. Cops are useless, never call them.
2. People are just straight victims.
3. Stay strapped, and don’t be afraid to use it.
That sounds a lot like the thought process most of the perps in these stories would have. Although I cannot deny it makes my day whenever a story ends with the good guy/gal pulling a gun on their assailant, stalker, etc. I just think one needs to be very careful when deciding to take matters into one's own hands, as it might come back and bite you in the behind.

I like how in story 11, the dog is probably underestimated by OP. No matter how sweet she is, if there would have been trouble, she might latch on and cause tremendous damage to one of the perpetrators - and justly so. I have seen my own dog change from a friendly, people-loving, food-obsessed, tail-wagging bundle of peace & love to a growling, teeth-baring psycho ready to pounce someone. And that was someone she just happened to hate for no apparent reason and who never caused any trouble, let alone if there was someone with truly malicious intent...

As I was watching Shrek 4, the trees waving violently back and forth, a loud knock across the shining red wood floor Illuminated all over the downstairs. I crackled my head slowly to a 90 degree angle, but to my disbelief nothing was there. I shook my head silly, thinking it's just a movie. A whisper then quietly said near my ear, "It's all Ogre now". I then stood up to then realize that my insanity of Shrek has bathed over my brain and that I had to quickly shut down Shrek 4. Finally after everything was black, my heart overwhelmed with peace, learned to never watch Shrek 4 at night.

48:00 I have two pits who made me feel so assured to walk alone even when it’s night time…I also have mace and taser to protect them if I have to. As a 5’2 Asian female I could look an easy target if not for my big dogs who are always with me, the thing is - I will protect them with my life, too. My dogs aren’t aggressive, their owner is, and I hope no one would dare to find that out.
