I find it super interesting to see the first season from Ward's point of view. In every episode, his aim is not to complete the mission, but rather to win the trust of the others. a very well written character and story arc.

0:40 "Grant you telling me this makes me feel like I can trust you" After rewatching this scene while I was rewatching the show always gets me because of how Coulson trusted Ward to the point where he told him about Audrey only to find out later Ward would be his greatest enemy and kill the person who Coulson loves the most

One of the most tragic things is that the Framework proved there was someone out there who could have found Ward instead of Garret and shaped him into a good man. But in the real world, Garret found him. And the woman who could have made him a good man? Ward shot her in the head.

2:25 just realised did ward suddenly realise he was himself again and still try and shoot may and try to claim he was still being controlled despite the fact that with hindsight the colar was already on the witch (first time watching it I did notice the odd timings but didn't realise what it meant until now)

Yes. May was always a threat to him so he tried to get rid of her. This was his only chance that would not raise suspicion

@@ShieldVids imagine how different aos would have been if there had already been a bullet in the chamber when ward hard fired the gun
For one thing it would have changed the situation enough the fitzsimmons may have not gone to the air field which probably mean garatte would have never being injected with gh gone crazy which lead to his death and ward would have Skye his prisoner kinda the opposite of things that actually happened in time for season 2
All bc of one bullet being loaded or not (not crazy addicted to the show just good at guessing the most probable futures with what Ik)

yes this is my favourite one. because the scene by its self on first watch is kinda a cliche almost. guy underpsell wakes up last second before bad thing happons etc whatever, but then second runthrough new meaning, depth to it.

If memory serves me right, in this episode there was a villain who brainwashed main heroes to do his bidding. In the scene Ward pulls the trigger seemingly because he is not himself. But knowing the Hydra reveal, he WAS himself and just wanted to kill strong agent May. When gun fails him he plays it off like he was under spell (or whatever it was)

Fuuuuuuuuk I never noticed that. Goddamn. If we're not including super soldiers, literally the only other two SHIELD agents who can match or beat Ward in hand to hand are May and Black Widow. And given how close Fury kept Black Widow Ward had pretty good assurance he wasn't going to have to deal with her on short notice. So removing May basically guarantees Ward can wipe out Coulson's entire team, or capture Coulson (for Garret to dissect and discover how he returned from the dead) with no opposition. Don't get me wrong Coulson's an avengers level threat when he wants to be, but only so long as he's controlling the situation. No chance of that when he didn't know Ward was Hydra.

You don't need to make a 3rd video but there is a hint/foreshadowing not in the video: "A defining moment."
In Ep3, Ward tells Skye "Every field agent has a defining moment. Ask Coulson."
In Ep11, Po says to Coulson "Seeing a boy lose his father at such a young age, as you did. A defining moment."
In Ep16, When Skye and Coulson was realizing that the Clairvoyant was an Agent of SHIELD: She mentions that in his psych evaluation it said his father's death was "a defining moment" for him.

He acted more himself then I recently watched the episode researching with my father. I think i remember him almost slipping and that's how he was able to had not to go to Coulson he told Coulson the truth in that office he couldn't trust himself he was afraid of slipping. Sorry if I rambled a little ADHD is a pain when I'm bored.

Honestly ward being a mole the whole time make it a bit unrealistic that he didn't shoot may in first place when he was pointing at her (when lorelai was with them, before she went to the cage to fight lady sif). He shots her only when they're on the ground, after the effect of the speel went down.. but if the spell on it let me thinks that may was a threat to normal ward more than to actually in spell ward lol
