- Which gel will win?!?! In this video these two Eco Styler Gel's go head to head. On one side I used the Olive Oil gel and on the other I used the new Eco Style Black Castor + Flaxseed Oil Gel. I did this because I never had used them on a wash and go and wanted to see how they compare! Is there a difference?
The Battle:

I just got the castor oil for less crunch but I couldn't slick down my hair with my pony tail think I'm going to give it another chance and try a wash in go but it's true I love the Olive oil eco so we'll see

This is proof that everyone's hair is different bc I had the opposite results. For me the olive oil weighed my hair down and the flaxseed and black castor I had to use a lot more of it

It also looks like you had less shrinkage with the olive oil one. That is my favorite gel! I tried the Argon oil one and I wish I hadn't. That one definitely leaves flakes and dried gel pieces in my hair :(.
it feels nothing like the other gels i've tried...it has a crazy slip I love it
The castor/flaxseed one doesn't work well alone...but I understand for comparison reasons why you did it that way. A good curl cream underneath and it's amazing. Definition/hold/without the crunch.
I have wavy hair and have only used the flaxseed eco gel after leave in and curl cream and I love it, I get more definition and volume than the products without the gel
Hi, since my earlier comment...I’ve changed my mind. The black castor is now my new favourite! Alone...it’s still ok, but when team with other products it’s so much better!😁👍🏾I no longer use my Olive Oil echo styler .
I usually use the olive oil but last time I bought the castor oil just to try out and I’m definitely going back to my olive oil! That’s the real MVP 🙌🏽
My curl pattern is more curly than yours (I don't hair type lol) and my results differed a bit. Olive oil one is heavy and crunchier on my hair. I have to scrunch with it. The black castor one gave me light fluffy curls with great definition
+HazeLeanne I don't either lol but yes, a few of my friends results differed as well! And I think that's great so people understand everyone's hair is DIFFERENT! I will definitely be giving the Flaxseed Gel another try and use more, and see if it works better or weighs down my hair too much. ❤❤❤

You are right about t how the eco styler olive oil has more hold for less product. I like the castor oil one a little more because it is more moisturizing. I also get frizz on the same day but I have noticed that on one portion of my hair I didn't get any frizz because I put on more product for that side of my hair. I think the castor one feels more like an 8-9 hold tho.
JBCO/Flaxseed hands down for me. The olive oil flakes horribly in my hair and leaves it rock hard. it's amazing how one product is a miracle for some and trash for others! 😂😂 I'M 4A / 4B BTW.

Loved the comparison, I have only done twist coils with the castor n flaxseed which worked but yesss the eco OLIVE is great for wash n go. I also feel it depends on texture and that the castor n flaxseed is great for an updo to sleek back. 😉. Thanks for the video 😘

I use the argan oil one, it moisturizes well but I need more hold. My hair likes olive oil on its own so the olive oil gel may be better for me. I think I'll try this test too. I never thought to use the gel alone.

Tried both. And The flax seed doesn't hold my hair as much compared to the Olive Oil.
I tried the JBCO gel, and was so hopeful. Day 2 looked a lot like yours but with more frizz. It was like the gel lost all holding power after a day.

I loke the bco/fso one for puffs but not for my wng. I have to refresh everyday when I use it for a wng so I feel you in that. I prefer wetline extreme on my wng if I really want it to last.

Hey Ashly, great review. What are your thoughts on the Ecostyler Argan oil (red top) gel? This is the one I have at the moment. Going to try your wash and go as I've never done that before. Do you use anything else with the gel? I worry about just using gel on my hair as I fret that I should have something moisturising on my hair such as coconut oil... x
4 me its the castor oil flaxseed hands down...it always do a good job in my hair. it does a better job with forming my curls better than the creams and creams weigh my hair down. the gel works best in my hair n i do a leave in when i use it just 2 keep my hair n ends super soft.

Hey interesting results. The Olive Oil is my fav of all Echo Stylers. However, I bought into the hype and purchased the black castor oil & flaxseed. Love the smell and the you do get a nice shine. The hold however, not as good def not a 10....and doesn't last throughout the day like the Olive oil! 😀

I use olivera natural gel from the plant directly..mix with olive oil..its curls ..grows..n thickens the hair..
I think I do like the olive oil gel better tbh. But they're both good. I don't get too much frizz with either product
I actually like the Argan Oil by Eco Gel. It's not as crunchy as the Olive Oil but it holds better than the Black Castor Oil. Maybe try mixing the two with 2/3 Olive and 1/3 Black Castor..
Girl with curly fine hair here that products love to sit on curious about the olive gel. Should this be used before plopping my hair or after since I have needed to rewet to get my curls to pop or should I just stick to a cream that promises some light hold instead?
