- Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus as well as the regular 6.1-inch smartphone, with a side-by-side vs of the camera tech, gaming performance test, battery size and other specs. I'll be reviewing the Samsung Galaxy S23 next but here's a closer look at that and the Plus, to see which phone is best for you!

The big difference between these two OneUI 5.1 mobiles is the battery (besides the obvious size shenanigans). I'm hoping for improved life on the Samsung S23 compared with the S22, but stay tuned for my final verdict to be sure.
Both Galaxy S23 smartphones are powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, but the Samsung S23 Plus seems to churn out better benchmark scores. There's only a small margin however and the regular blower can cope with gaming on Genshin Impact on higher graphics settings.
The camera hardware is also the same on the Galaxy S23 Plus and regular Samsung flagship. And while these aren't as good in low light vs the Ultra, they're still decent for everyday photography. Again, check back for the full Samsung Galaxy S23 review for more on that!

Just bought the regular s23 few days ago and I love it so far. Especially the size of it. I'm so tired of massive phones and TBF I wouldn't mind something even half an inch smaller. It's so comfortable to use
I also use it quite a lot including listening to podcasts and audiobooka for 7 hours a day. I've been up since 5am it's half 8 pm now and I have 41% battery left
Got regular S23 upgraded from S20 I'm a happy camper
Awesome! I ordered this as well coming from s22 ultra. Was so sick of giant phones and wearing out my pants pocket haha.
@@RedKryptonitelEl_ there really is no need for a giant phone. This size is perfect to use on the go and at home you can just use a tablet if you need something larger.
Had it for just over a week now and it's awesome
@Kris Fire don't say there's "no need" to each their own
Watching this on my new S23 which I got today...feels good man
Hey how is the battery holding up
@@joshdunham7167 Someone with a s23 said it last like 6 hours for normal use.
I'm loving my S23+, fits in the hand nicely, excellent battery life, camera is good enough if you don't need zoom, and gaming is sooooo goooooood. God I hated Exynos on my S21!
Exynos have ruined the galaxy phones for far too long. But tbh the previous snapdragon chips were made on samsung shitty node too. Moving to TSMCs superior node was a big improvement in performance and energy efficiency.
What is your screen on time?
I'm currently using S20 Exynos and I feel you man. But I'm confused between S23 and S23+. Is 23+ too big in hands ? And is the battery good enough to last a day ?
@@nephilimssj It lasts whole day on 5G 🙂, with 5hrs SOT. Over Wi-Fi, SOT extends up to 8 hrs. 😄
@@enesturhan3435 so far I got 8 hours and 40 minutes with 12% left
Thanks for this video! I agree so many 23 ultra videos out there, been looking for a video on the 23 & 23+. Thanks again from Kentucky 🇺🇸
Where do you get your mobile wallpapers from? They're always lovely
I have the S23 and love it. I just wish Samsung would include charger, case, headphones, etc. Just watched a video on the Redmagic 8 pro.....6.8 screen, 120hz, 12gb/256gb, 6000 mAh battery, gen2 processor, headphone Jack, case, and 45 watt charger included......$650!! Come on Samsung, gives us our money's worth!
The redmagic 8 pro looks great, especially for gaming, but, i don't trust anything that comes from china.
Great review uncle spurt! I'm thinking of upgrading my exynos S21 to this S23 but it's kinda pricey so I might hold on to it till it drops a little 😅
Great review! Just bought S23 standard and waiting for it to get shipped. I always find it funny people mention how small 6.1" phone is but compared to my 5.8" S9 I think it'll be perfect.

Everything is perfect for Samsung this time except the prices....

Ok boomer, this isn't 2010 anymore.
@Jisoooya THANK YOU
In a sense I agree but again it’s what it is
Here in India galaxy S23+ is cost 94,999 INR and you pay this amount for a 1080p screen and just 393 ppi....yes you are right that's not 2010 anymore....
I've so glad your new phone and secure to samsung galaxy s23 series your devices right now!!
Didn't know I needed this comparison. Apart from the S-Pen, I really don't see any other reason to get the Ultra.
Hey uncle Spurt, I'm torn between the regular S23 and the Zenfone 9. Is the battery life good enough from the S22 to compare it to the Zenfone 9?
Where do you find you wallpapers, is it a App or some particular site?
Sir, may i ask where you get those anime wallpapers? Like a specific app providing them? I think it's really cool, cute and fancy looking 🐱
Can't believe that with all the improvements Samsung still can't take sharp action shots. For the price this shouldn't be an issue. Looking forward to the full reviews.

Excellent comparison video.
My current phone is 6.4 inches and although I really want the S23 standard, after having a 6.4in screen for over 2 years I feel the standard would feel too small, so I've decided to opt out for + version, even though I'm a little worried it might feel too big! Overall everything I'm hearing about this series is amazing.
I've got a 6.4 also. What's the plus version feel like? Much of a jump in size or she'll be right?
@@RA-yc9fb so I got myself the S23+ and honestly I love it. It doesn't feel too much larger than my 6.4! Sometimes when I'm one handing I can feel a little stretch in my fingers but it's not uncomfortable. I don't think I'll ever go larger than this, but it does great. It fits in my cup holder, pants pocket, and purse comfortably.
I think the camera housing makes it look more like a mid-ranger than a flagship.
The S23 with 128GB has slower storage.
Did buy the Samsung Galaxy phones before, but miss the extras of the Samsung mid range features: 3.5mm audio jack, & FM radio, micro SD card. Then discovered the Infra Red controller offered by other brands, so Samsung no longer.
This guy is by far the best reviewer because he don't talk about a bunch of bullshit he gets straight to the point and that's what I like that's why this is my go-to reviewer
Sir...
Which wallpaper is applied on G23...
Its looks good
I'm about to get the S23 tomorrow. My A71 is messed up after just over 2 years. It's stuck in Airplane mode and now after taking it into the Verizone store to swap sims, the sim no longer connects to the phone. So instead of getting it fixed and doing without a phone for however long, I'm just gonna get a new one. I'm choosing the S23 based purely on size. It's the smallest S model in several years.
I'm totally over the large phone era, after having this A71 for 2 years to really test the waters. They just feel bad in my hands. I'm glad to see that the regular S23 is damn near the same size as the S7, my previous phone before the A71.
Nice review Mr. Ten Hag
Base s23 here. Samsung absolutely nailed it this year. Just got 9 hours sot using 120hz n light mode. Zero complaints...

Nice!. I now wonder whether S23 vs Zenfone 9 is a fair comparison or not.
thank you I'm not sure if I should do the s24+ I was just about to buy then I came up on your reviews I could save quite a bit now with new s23 that are still available
Great video. One question, is this s23 plus ideal for Uber eat delivery? I mean will this work really well on map, etc?
I thought you would show us battery usage in setting for both phone
Ohh damn that suzuno wallpaper😍😍😍😍
I traded my z flip 4 for the s23 and it crushes it in every way, battery life is great 👍, have gotten over 7 hours of sot , very snappy, display is beautiful and cameras are much improved, got used to the size difference quicker than I anticipated, definitely recommend the S23 if you want something compact and powerful!
Dumb move
@@icomefromoogaboogaland dumb comment, thanks 👍
Good choice
What was wrong with the z flip?
I did the same. Agree.
Real good video i love the design of these 2 ✌️ 🤟 🙂 👍.
I've just up(down?)graded from the S22 Ultra to the 256gb S23. My god this is the perfect phone. Battery life is excellent. Manageable size. No rubbish curved screen. Cameras are great. I've finally found the absolutely perfect phone. That Ultra is just so ridiculously huge. Never again.
I purchased the base s23 256gb also, and yes, the s23 is a perfect size for those of us who want a phone - not something that resembles a tablet lol. I would have maybe even shelled out the extra coin if they provided a smaller ultra model similar to apple's 14 pro at the 6.1 inch display size. That's one thing apple has going for them - the pro features on both the larger and smaller models.
I moved from S21 U to Base s23 256 too, Finally a small-ish phone with no compromise
@@MegaDringus what is your screen on time?

I fell in love with the Samsung S 23 + 💕💕💕
Considering an upgrade from my s21
It's 2 years old and performs just fine. But I will get a 350$ trade in towards the 23+
Just wanting a newer model
Worth it?
So the s23 & s23+ exactly the same apart from the screen size and battery. I have got the 14 pro max so should I go for the 23 or 23+
As mich as I love Samsung dropping the quality of that beloved oled screen had me feeling a type of way. Its been over 6months since I switched from my s20 to the s22+, and the difference is still irreconcilable for me. I used to be in awe of the quality of the display everytime I used it. After over 10yrs, my next phone might not be Samsung.😔
I've already made my choice - green S23😀 After more than 2 weeks I must say that it's a great phone!
does it feel too small?
I only get the ultra for the status but i too miss smaller/slimmer devices.
Your hands will get tired from the ultra
Standard S23 for me, with 256gb and black / green.
I had expected the camera performance to be much better than that, what happened!😳 Nice review by the way, thanx 👍!

Amazing unboxing and video comprising as always bro
I had bought a S22+ just 3 months ago, but I wasn't too happy with the battery life. Due to the offer Samsung had for the new S23+ and using their return campaign, I basically bought the new S23+ and just had to pay 30€ more than what I had paid for the S22+. Battery life is great in the S23+. With my usage, the first full charge lastet almost 4 days. With the S22+, battery would go from 100% to 75%-80% just overnight. Really happy with the S23+ so far.
30£ for upgrade? and at no further cost?
@@NicolasKeven I'm 99.9% sure he's financing to own the device. Samsung has a "Galaxy Forever plan" similar to Apple where if you're making payments on the phone you can upgrade to the latest device out for a charge of $25-30 USD.
@@Young_Dab hm, considering 1 year of use, 30€ is not something that should weigh a lot
@@NicolasKeven No, I'm not financing. I have an additional discount on Samsung's website (bcs I'm part of an association in the country I live in) and since they paid me 520€ for my S22+, overall, the upgrade just cost me about 30€. There was also an additional discount during the pre-sale, where they paid an extra 100€ if you'd use their return campaign.
U had to disable all bloatware via usb debugging on pc ,i did same on s21 plus and my battery drainage per night only -2%
From where you get these wallpapers 🥺
Went with the 23+. Very happy with it. Asked the Samsung rep at the store the difference between them all. He said if you want the size but don't care about the pen or just need the size. Go with the 23+.
If he wasn't a clueless moron he would have mentioned that the 128GB S23 uses slow UFS memoru compared to the rest. You dodged a bullet.
Thank you for this. While the S23 Ultra is no doubt a fine device, most of us have neither the photography skills of Ansel Adams nor the bank account of Jeff Bezos to justify the cost. The S23 Plus definitely has my attention when it comes time to upgrade from my S20 FE. These old eyes need the larger screen, so the regular S23 is out of the running.
BTW, just bought and started reading one of your books, Twin Towers Estate, The Riot Trilogy, Books 1-3. Really enjoying it! Would make a great TV series in the right hands.
Wait a minute tech spurt has written books?
I agree. I'm going for the S23 because I am tired of big phones.
I love my ultra but its not the most convenient device for my commute. I had to buy a new parka jacket just so It wouldn't have to go in my satchel & miss Imporant calls
And the worst thing is when you drop it on your nose 😳
@@koreyb I also agree.... I'd go for the s23 if i had money😂
@@CDPA7 Yes, that's the biggest problem I have with the Ultra. It is just too big, especially when the weather warms up and I want to be able to just fit it into my pocket, when I'm not wearing a jacket.

Thank you so so much for the video! Could you please let me know if the galaxy S23 has dual sim slot for sure in the UK? If it has a slot for two physical nano sims, can I use a nano sd card in the slot to expand the storage? Thanks so much in advance! 😊

Man if they can get that S23 anywhere close in battery life to the iphone 13 (same size, smaller battery) that would be a real game changer. Hope the 8 gen2 delivers as promised and samsung doesnt mess up the software
Some battery tests shown that the s23 is pretty much on par with the iphone 13 and 14 (iphone 14 might be better sometimes but thats by 10-20 minutes)
Personally I picked the regular 23 way more comfortable
I've been an Android guy from day 1 but not specifically into Samsung. Now I am sold and I have bought the S23+ with 512GB. (promotion gave me double the storage for the same price). Loving it! Samsung made an iPhone with Android - if there is such a thing. RAM could have been a little bit more than 8GB in my opinion escpecially if you're planning on having the phone for 2-3-4 years.
Same thoughts. I also bought as well. The only mistake was buying s23. I thought I'll be more comfortable with s23 regular, but was wrong. S23 plus is the best for my hand feel. I'll just wait for the next phone and trade in for the plus model.

The problem is choosing the model. S23 seems to small and the s23+ to big. Would love to see an 6.3 inches
💯 Exactly
Heard samsung wont have any + model. There will be S24 and S24U. So i assume they will make the S24 6.1 or 6.2. They are working to cram a 4800 mah battery in the S24.
You just point at the best part .yes wish it would be around 6.3 or 6.4
This comment is on point.
I'd Samsung A50s before the S23, it was 6.4, this is 6.1, if this would've been the same, so battery could've been even better.

Hi Chris, finally the review I've been waiting for.
Please help. I am at the end of my 6-years long journey with my beloved Oneplus 5 and urgently pick one of those: OnePlus11 or S23+ (regardless of their prices)
Please advice. Thanks a million.
S23 + is way better than the OnePlus 11. U can watch some comparison videos here on CZcams in order to understand the differences.
I was in a similar position as you last week. I was also a loyal oneplus customer looking to upgrade, and I picked the S23+.
In terms of Hardware and price the Oneplus slightly edges out the Samsung phone (except for wireless charging), but the reason I chose Samsung is because oneplus has become really unreliable over the last few years for their software and support, and there's no way to know how it's going be going forward.
Both perfectly good options and imo much of a muchness. Pick the one that's best value for money with the amount of storage you need.
@@DarthSidious7 that’s totally been my thinking that I don’t know how reliable Oneplus is going to be in the future I’ve had the 1+6,9+7 pro but I ended up getting a Samsung S 23 because you know Samsung is going to have to do software updates and security patches in the coming years but one plus they’ve been all over the board even though they made a great phone with a 1+11. I wonder about future updates.
@@DarthSidious7 Thanks for your comment. How is full hd res on S23+'s big screen? I worry it wouldn't be crisp enough. Are you able to tell it is less crisp or is it not detectable at all?

Yup, the 256gb on the s23 would benchmark the same as the plus
I absolutely love my S23+ it looks so good, nice and sleek.

Uncle Spurt, would you rather buy the regular s23 or the pixel 6 pro or pixel 7 pro? The 6 pro can do 85% of what the 7 pro can. I can buy a refurbished 6 pro for about $400 in America. Is the s23 worth it do you think?
I have used pixel 7 pro and currently using Samsung s23 hands down Samsung s23 is better , snapdragon 8 gen 2 is really good. The screen is fantastic,One UI is extremely customisable and has dex as well plus rn they are giving 256gb model for the price of 128gb along with some bank offers it's really good deal, pixel 7 pro doesn't hold a candle against this, it might be worth to you if you absolutely want stock Android and some AI features but IMO they are really not that important.
I have the Pixel 7 Pro. It's been ok. A little buggy at times. Screen even went black twice. Should I get the S23 or the plus?

Honestly the S23 seems like a bad deal when it costs more than Pixel 7 Pro, and that Samsung is trying to save even more on the base 128GB model with previous gen 3.1 storage... Imo this gen should have gotten a Telephoto camera upgrade and the 4.0 storage in ALL models. If that would be the case, I'd be interested in buying. They're clearly starting the Apple approach..
