- A new bill just passed in the Tennessee Senate would allow teachers in K-12 schools to carry handguns in the classrooms. It now goes to the TN House and throws fuel on a growing national debate over armed educators.
The Tennessee State Senate passed a bill that would allow teachers to carry concealed guns in schools, but it would not allow parents to know if their child's teacher is carrying a gun. Marissa Sulek has more. (Credit: WSMV via NBC)

If a fire breaks out in the school faculty have fire extinguishers and other fire mitigating systems already present to control the fire until the fire department can arrive minutes later. Why is the thought of arming somebody at the school UNACCEPTABLE? The duration of any mass shooting is solely dependent on how fast an armed counter response can get bullets into the shooter. It does not matter if that armed response comes from the police, security, a teacher, the janitor, or the freaking lunch lady. Cops on the way will not save the day!
Then we shoud be allowed to arm ourselves in courthouses only makes sense as well as any state office good guys should be armed anywhere we go
Will the teacher that accidently shoots and kill a student during a friendly fire incident be charged with homicide?
That's not very likely and far less likely than a teacher taking a defensive position in he classroom and stopping the threat. Would you rather the teacher have a better chance than the shooter or have a 0% chance. It's not that hard to decide what the more logical choice would be.
