In my esti scandi run the Germans got involved in a civil war that lasted well into 1940. Both sides had appeared to be on the verge of victory at some point, but in the end Poland declared war on the reich and the military junta got all the land

It makes sense that Spain became faction leader. The faction is just Spain without the S after all.
I got the "No fun at Stalingrad" achievement in a non-historical game by accident. Because the Soviets had a civil war and Trotzky won and renamed the city to Trotzkygrad. I conquered it before capitulating the Soviet Onion, but because it was no longer named Stalingrad i got the achievement. :D

For Stalingrad,if soviet goes into civil-war and renames Stalingrad to something other than Stalingrad,then even if you take what was formerly Stalingrad you still get the achievement(i found this out accidentally when playing monarchist germany)

reminding ISP that if you manage to get austria on your faction you will(in around 30 days or so) get a event to eat them(and also get their cores)
Is that just for Germany or does it work if you are another country? It would be funny if Poland could do an anschluss.

If the Soviet Union goes down any of its alt-history paths and renames Stalingrad, then you can still get "Not Much Fun In Stalingrad" even when you control Stalingrad as it is technically no longer "Stalingrad".

day 5 of asking ISP to play as austria because theres a new strat for austria since blood alone where you can survive the anschluss because of the unpassable alps, you also would have to do a agency and boost ideology in hungary for non aligned so they dont join the axis. i would really like to see you try that

I find ISP is one of those CZcamsrs I always come back to, I’ve been subbed since about 150k a good 4 years or so back and I still watch his videos the day he uploads every single time
In my last playthrough I got the "No fun in Stalingrad" even though I took the city because they changed Stalingrad's name after the Russian Civil War
Imagine being Mussolini, failing to invade Switzerland, and you decide that you can take on a country that invaded every other major power and controls about 3.5 continents

You can get not much fun in Stalingrad even if you have taken the city. As long as you have no troops in the state when the soviets capitulate. This is information that I found a long time ago so it may have changed.

You can actually hold off on invading Austria until after the civil war ends, because chances are they'll get a "Austria is feeling threatened by us +100" modifier to them accepting to create a faction. You can then anschluss them through the event for some free cores. There's probably a meme-y way to get them to reform Austria Hungary and then invite them to a faction and annex (but not gain cores on) Czechoslovakia and Hungary too.

I remember I got the Not Much Fun in Stalingrad acievement by a bug. I took Stalingrad, then left the game to do something, then capitiulated the Soviet Union in a separate session and somehow got the achievement from that. Saved me a lot of pain I guess...
If you do it right you can take it pull your troops out of the province and capitulate the Soviets and that will trigger it

Fun fact about how i got "Not much fun in Stalingrad": apparently if the Soviets got a civil war and Stalingrad is renamed, this achievement is quite easy

The why die for danzig one you can easily do by doing ww2 as normal but getting a max collab on france, once you capitulate france you have an option to create a collaboration government which counts as turning france fascist and you still own danzig

Idea: play as UK but don't get involved in fighting Germany at all, and instead constantly donate all of your equipment to France before the war and see if they survive

So, how are you going to do the 2 Crusader Kings achievements for South Africa, one of which requires going communist, and one of which requires going fascist, the focuses for which are mutually exclusive? The rest of the South Africa achievements can be done in 1 game, but those 2 require at least 2 games
I ended up getting operation sea lion by accident on like my second actual run as Germany on Ironman after that it’s been an uphill battle for me to even step foot on British soil before the us stick their nose where it don’t belong Lmao
