Long time watcher here, and Josie has done this even before they moved to the Cotswolds and I love it. Josie Darling. Just letting you know Zaatar has been around in the Middle East for centuries. It's a Middle eastern spice. If you like that spice palette then you should try Palestinian, Turkish, Egyptian, Lebanese, Moroccan etc food.

Zatar is actually Palestinian. Otelangie uses many middle eastern inspired ingredients like burgul (turkish), tahini (egyptian)

I would like to correct you on something regarding za’taar it’s an herb which is found in every Middle Eastern home predominately Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. It’s (the za’taar plant) harvested from the mountains and laid to dry than grounded with spices like simak and sesame seeds. Traditionally it’s eaten for breakfast with olive oil (dipping the bread into olive oil then in za’taar). Would love to send you some.

Yes thank you for clarifying. Palestinians were using zataar since the 12th century. Also falafel, hummus, kunaffa, shawarma are not Israeli they’re been in the Middle East looooong before the establishment of israel in 1948.
Exactly on that note, i will be sharing a middling eastern fusion recipe using Zataar (Zaatar omelet). You add three spoons of olive oil with Zataar until it’s a liquid texture , then add three eggs and u fry them. Then add mozzarella or any type of cheese u like and flip it and leave it a bit on the pan for the cheese to melt … u will be hooked . I will not repeat what the rest have said about the origins of Zataar as you get the idea but you will never ever go to an Arab home and not find it , it’s in our DNA!
I can’t believe those cakes and pastries in Ottolenghi had no protective covering over them, one sneeze or tiny fingers would be all over them!

@@user-jm9nu2gl5h that's not how it works - there are food hygiene laws that must be adhered to by anyone selling food to the public, and there's no 'grace' period allowed. Someone as famous as Ottolengi wil be very aware of this. I wouldn't buy cakes and salads which have been sitting uncovered like that.

Ha you always find the best Dior coats there!! I was thrifting of all places the other day and they had a pale butter yellow Gucci leather trench with florals on it! I died!!! The piece was ridiculously cheap and then i looked at the size and sadly it was like a 2 lol 😂 there went my dreams! Lala looked fab in the max mara! I’m still on the hunt here thrifting ,for the coat by MM you showed last winter! Dream Coat!🧥 we have amazing rich fancy darlin people…. thrift store$

Just wanted to echo what a few others were saying about za’atar - it’s a Palestinian spice that was used long before the establishment of Israel and is now a staple in most Middle Eastern kitchens. It’s really important to clarify this as Israel is trying to steal Palestinian cuisine and culture as well as its land. Love watching your videos! ❤
