Almost all the pani puri and Muri vendors actually originates from north Indian states. Kolkata biryani is an acquired taste not everyone will have same views. But we as citizens of kolkata will always love it more than any other variety.
Kolkata ki biriyani Bohut tasty hoti hai making process is different than other states we used ghee and rose water , mitta attor, kaura water and with slight dum that's why other states people can't eat our States biriyani but we can eat both types of biriyani 😁 of other states too

U can try biryani from Shiraz, Rang de Basanti or Punjabi Rasoi. Punjabi Rasoi and Shiraz are my personal favourite. Rang de basanti is good but the quantity of rice is bit less. But if u try Champaran meat with bread that's a complete hit from Rang de Basanti. And Arslan other than that in Park Circus is not good for Biryani but every other thing in the list specially the tangri kebab is must try. If u want to try platters u can visit Hanglatherium. And other outlets for Biryani r Shimla biryani, Azad Hind Dhaba and there is one restaurant that's been in highlights for Biryani is of Dada- Boudi though I haven't tried it but it's also famous. The next time u visit West Bengal once visit Krishnanagar there is a sweet named Shorpuria it's a regional sweet which you can only find there try that atleast once

You should've gone to Dada Boudi restaurant instead of Arsalan. I know all the hype about Arsalan but it's not how it used to be before. But trust me being a Bengali I can assure you that Dada Boudi restaurant's biryani is THE BEST in Kolkata. Although it has a few branches but I would recommend that you go to the Sodepore outlet☺️
