1946 Buick Super Sedanet was my dads first new car purchase after he was honorably discharged from the US Army . New Buick purchase price at the time was $ 1,700.00 !!!!

Those were SUCH good cars! Love the whine of the gearbox. Those were tough and reliable and much better than anything the competition had to offer at the time. When a Buick was a BUICK!

I'm the same age but not in the condition of this beautiful 1946 Buick.

These are wonderful cars. Glad you kept it STOCK. And if anybody says it would look dressier with white walls, point out to them that whitewall tires had not yet come back from the war.

Beautiful car so aerodynamic, looks like you could go 200mph with out lifting off the ground!

My favored vehicle. These are true works of machinery. I currently own one in the color of black with the addition of red rims. It has a little over 68 thousand miles and has been restored in 2017, best vehicle I have ever owned.

Thank you, what a beauty. My grandfather, since passed, in Grantsburg, Wisconsin had one, and I have many fond memories of visiting him and getting to ride into town (Dairy Queen) with him

Harley Earl was ahead of his time when he designed these cars

Learned to drive in my Dad's '46. The straight 8 ran so smooth, I couldn't tell if it was running.

Very nice My grandfather owned one and I rode in it on my wedding day. Your video brought back lots of great memories. His was black with a black interior I'm surprised they had the brown. Always loved the bomb site hood ornament.

I have one of these, a 1947 year model though, wears a coat of crown black paint. It's really a very work of machinary. I had it fully restored back in 2013 and it runs like a sewing machine, starts johnny on the spot every time.

If I can say, you've got a beautiful driving technique. Almost meets the old saying, becoming one with the car. Flowing or fluid style of driving. You don't hardly see that skill nowadays. The Buick, stunning and what a darned privilage going for a ride. Thanks

Thanks very much, I appreciate that. Most of the comments I receive on my channel pertain to me not closing the hood right, pronouncing a name wrong, driving too slow, driving too fast, etc. You sir, are unique, possibly the first comment of this kind.
It's true, once you get to know a car it becomes an extension of yourself. That's the beauty of these old machines.

So beautiful and so glad it's stock as they are getting hard to find that way, down to the 6 volt and generator (I wouldn't have it any other way)
Not nearly as many 1946's were built as 1947s & 48's. Besides getting the plants back up running there were strikes that year that limited production. Love seeing those original stock gauges working. And few things sound better than the purr of a Buick straight 8 engine.

@@Cascadiaclassic One stock item that would spiffy it more would be a set of wheel trim rings. They are available thru various sources both in 15 and 16 inch whatever the wheel size is.

Wow, how well taken care of that Buick is, I had a 1952 Buick in my country Cuba, a super excellent car. If you are selling that Buick I would like to have it.😉👍
