    On the road in pedal mode/auto you need to preselect your lowest gear as 4a so the tractor isn’t jumping between 3rd and 4th range at every junction.

    gates open usually means you either forgot to close them, fly tippers found a new dumping ground or some randy couple thought they had the perfect spot one night.

    If I had to choose I would pick the t5. The hitch is easier, no "waking it up" I like the extra eco gear in the t5 so it could be more economical on the road, the damped loader looks as though it does the job of smoothing out bumps rather well and i think it looks more meaty for some reason and the gearbox seems smoother

    • @stubbi
      @stubbi Před 2 lety +9

      The Overdrive is also available for the 5S but with a different (and better imho) transmission. The "waking up" is an economy feature as it disconnects the hydraulic pump for the rear hitch from the rest of the powertrain, as far as I know. It saves maintenance and fuel.

    Ian. I agree with you on the steering wheel. The engine sounded real smooth too. Never loaded down while driving. Not having to rev for the hydraulics is nice too. Not the same class of tractor, but with my John Deere 2025R I’m always revving for either PTO or hydraulics.

    This is IMPORTANT to know Ian, regarding fuel consumption. The Dyna6 does have the same overdrive as the T5. You can do 40k at 1500RPM and 45k at about 1650, roughly.
    The Dyna4 doesnt have that, it was one of the main reason a fellow farmer in my hometown got his 5S with a Dyna6 as he also does a lot of bale hauling with that tractor (runs on feeder, bale hauling and wrapping mostly).
    Also, make sure you select the lowest possible gear for the automatic mode to be highest A range, that way you avoid jumping. Quite handy if you get used to it.

    Maybe when you've squeezed the bale properly go back to the stack and push the next bale you'll want over with the bale your holding a little to get your tine in if that makes sense your only touching it with the bale so less chance of braking wrap. Hope that makes sence lol great vid quite like the look of new massey 👍

  • @JB-xo4uc

    Nice video mate, what helps is if you topple the bale on its side, so when you approach it, it's a circle a ⭕ looking at you..then the 2 bars slide under the bottom part, to pick it up that way, without any damage 😊👌🚜. If you have the ties anyway, that helps, also if you have the end frames that'll keep them in position too 😅
    A different attachment you can use, is a clamp that looks like 2 massive hands, which can grab the bale , then can move it up or down to a 90 degree angle, if that makes sense, and then set it on the trailer flat.

    Richard always seem to catch wrapped bales with his squeezer. Even the purpose of a squeezer is to do less damage to wrapped bales they they seem to do more damage than what a spike would. I'd personally just spike them and take a role of black tape with me. Also I have to say the only thing the I don't like about the Massey is that link and unlinking process seem such a faff, I know it's all for safety but seems a bit extreme. I remember my collage days where all you had to do was press a button and it locks the pickup hitch in to place. Great video Ian and Biscuit 🐶😊🚜

When Case wanted to get into the AG market seriously they chose buying New Holland for the wide array of high quality motorized machines and implements. That's the dyna transmission the 4 and the 6 both suffer with poor speed matching people either love them or hate them I know people who got rid because it threw them into roundabouts and dropped to low nearly bringing the tractor to a virtual stop on a busy roundabout

    • @stubbi
      @stubbi Před 2 lety +1

      Then these people had now idea how to properly adjust the auto-match. If you spend 5 minutes you can make this one drive like a glove.

      I did suffer that a few times, but put it down to factory settings. I would re set the transmission to my own preferences if I bought one 🙂

    Could you put bale squeezer over the top of the bales and push the bar down between them? Also when you put a bale on can you give the previous one a nudge sideways?

    Of course the sunvisor has to go unless Chandlers cough up some sponsorship for it. If they don't you can put "Farmer P & Biskit" up, hark back to the 80s!!

  • @NiftyMCD_Australia
    @NiftyMCD_Australia Před 2 lety

    I hope you removed the 'Chandlers' sticker - it really does obstruct your view quite a lot. I know it's not proper to alter demo machines, but it is a safety / visibility issue and a few minutes work to replace it. Very important issues including the steering wheel - tractors are functional devices, not show ponies or cars. Good valid feedback for the dealer and manufacturer. Have a nice day!! 🤩

    • @FarmerP
      @FarmerP  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you can take the tubes off and use the spikes inside as well.

  • @mikesavage9325
    @mikesavage9325 Před 2 lety

    With them bale grabs especially without a drop nose tractor, its very difficult to see whats happening, there's a good view overall on them, also if you can turn down or turn off at times the front suspension could lesson the bouncing.
    Did you have or getting
    a demo of the massey ferguson 5711M ?

    Is it an option for the seat to rotate some to the right to look at equipment behind and not strain the neck.

    • @FarmerP
      @FarmerP  Před 2 lety

      Most modern seats have some rotation, it saves your neck but puts your hip out if you are clutching 😄
