Potato Reveal: Jazzy: Container Garden

- 🌿 Today, we're diving into an exciting POV potato harvest, harvesting the delightful Jazzy variety. Join me as we uncover the bounty from two containers: a 5-gallon fabric pot and a 50 litre pot that's only half full.
🔸 Container 1: 5-gallon fabric pot with 3 seed potatoes
🔸 Container 2: 50 litre pot (half full) with 6 seed potatoes
The yield may be small, but there's plenty to enjoy! I counted approximately 144 tubers, averaging 16 potatoes per seed. I didn't include the tiny, pea-sized ones, so this variety is definitely productive. I think I overcrowded and underwatered the plants; with better care, they could have lasted a few more weeks as planned, potentially doubling the final weight. Despite this, the Jazzy variety was delicious.

There are so many american varieties that we can't get over here. Next year I'm planning on trying the ones I can get hold- Russet Burbank and Yukon Gold 👍

Fingers crossed! All my potatoes no matter the variety seem to be falling over and wilting on the lower leaves way sooner than the plant should be, any suggestions?
@@themondaycorner When you say all varieties, do you mean maincrops as well? I'd expect 1E and 2E to be going over soon (mine are). 1E are typically ready in 10-12 weeks from planting and 2E in 12-14 weeks.
@@DigwellGreenfingers Yes. I don't mind my 1E & 2E looking sad but my Sarpos, maris pipers are looking off too and they have 50 ish days to go. My SSPC look mostly ok.
@@themondaycorner They could just be "aging gracefully". Take the old leaves off before they attract pests and disease.

I harvested Jazzy around the same time but didnt get nearly as many. May I ask how many seed potatoes you put in each container? They were yummy though 😂
There were 3 seed in the first small container and 5 or 6 in the bigger tub. I think I put too many in the pots, that's why they're soo small. Were yours any bigger?
@themondaycorner They may have been a tiny bit bigger but I couldn't swear to it. I couldn't remember when I planted them, so I just left them till the stalks were yellow. They never got a chance to dry out with all the rain we've had
I just had 4 seed in a 40 ltr bucket so that probably why my numbers were a bit low too. We live and learn so they say, here's to better luck next year x
