Love to know what you think of the taste of Sarpo Mira, Lorna. It seems to have a mixed fan base.

Like you I love a good potato reveal. Using a table to do it on is such a good idea to, it’s the way I do it and it’s so much easier than being over a wheelbarrow, or on the floor. Any harvest is a good harvest Lorna. You'll get some great Organic Homegrown goodness out of them and they'll taste better than anything out of a supermarket. Speaking of supermarkets, Why don't Dwarves buy potatoes at Aldi????? Because they're 'Lidl' people 😄 And if you want to feel better about your Spud harvest not being as big as you would've liked, check out my Carrot harvest today, it's a good job I'm not a market gardener or I'd be out on the street begging!

Open a male flower up by removing the petals just before it opens. Touch the stamen very lightly on your finger tip. If it stains yellow then rub it all over the reproductive parts of the inside of the female flower with the fruit behind it. Smother all around the inside and outside of the central parts of the inside of the flower and its very centrr too, and cover it all with the pollen. This will help to set your fruit.

Looking good Lorna, those Blueberries were a good size and the bush will grow a lot coming into next season. I'll be potting up my last container Blueberry into a larger pot for next year, the 30 litre potato pots will do. Maybe we'll get a late summer so those tomatoes will do well 👍

It hasn't died back. The leaves are still green and haven't fallen over. Try using dome ashes when you plant to kill disease...after watering it's like potato soap (lye).

You did great, 4 is the right amount of seed potatoes for first and second earlies, two in the bottom, two halfway up, they are new potatoes/salad potatoes after all, bigguns are for the Maincrop which then you put too per pot. Loving the song good fun, well done to your hubby 🙂

The compost will be okay, I reuse mine year after year, scab or no scab. The main cause of scab is lack of water during the first critical weeks of tuber formation - so water well. Beware of using supermarket spuds. Many are treated with a (organic) growth inhibitor. So yes, they will produce spuds but the yield will be down on a proper seeds spud.

It seems that adding sulphur to the soil stops scab from forming if the ph is too high. Search scab and sulphur to see if this will help. After Many tries my potatoes are growing after I added sulphur. I added sulphur in the trench where the seed potatoes went in.

It's just a bit of scab Lorna, the big Maris Piper didn't look too healthy to start so don't worry. Peel the scabby bits off and the spud underneath is still perfectly edible. Getting over 20 spuds from that one beast is still a good return, well done 👍

Looked pretty good to me, if you leave 1 or two chits on the potato and rub the rest off you will get bigger potatoes than if there's lots of chits. 👌🙏🥔😁

It would be so much simpler one you get it out of bag flip the whole thing over grab stems and shake because your probably leaving potatoes in that clump of soil potatoes and dirt fall out doing that

3-4 seed potatoes seems to be the sweet spot for me. I keep on top of the watering so maybe that helps. Even with blight I've had great harvests this year. Keep on trucking! 🦾

Looking good Lorna, the herbs may simply be too shaded so give them a week or two in a sunnier spot and see if they perk up a bit. As always, it's trial and error in a garden as you know. If it works it's food, if it doesn't it's compost, win win. I woke up to a load of Poppies lying flat on the Lawn, the wind here in Liverpool gets ridiculous coming in off the river, so a few of my plants end up in Casualty. All the best.

I harvested Jazzy around the same time but didnt get nearly as many. May I ask how many seed potatoes you put in each container? They were yummy though 😂

Looking good there. I'm lucky that there are always a lot of Ladybirds in my garden so aphids aren't an issue (mostly). Nice to see another yellow pair, I thought they were very rare but it turns out the UK has a lot of them. I spotted a yellow one on my Clematis and it's the first time I've ever seen one, lovely things. Keep up the good work 👍🍀
