Playing against DDD feels like playing chess against someone who doesn't need a board, only paper and pencil, they seem to do a lot and it's all very impressive but at the end theyve only moved their pawn forward 1 space.
They can visualize 3 chess boards at once at track all the moves and positions, but boy, they are losing all of those games

While it would be fun to see, I think the biggest problem with d/d/d decks is you can make such different builds. So regardless of which build he runs there will always be like four other ones that float around.

Is it fun? Yes.
Exactly this, when I started playing my first thoughts were "Okay, where's the meta at?" And then built a zoodiac tri-brigade deck.
With that, and every UR I could want for it now aquired, I'm building my D/D/D deck. Because it's fun to setup d'Arc and pump your life points into the stratosphere. My record in duel links was 38000 LP.
Playing ddd isn't about memorizing routes, it's about thinking ahead.
This guy you fought misplayed, he should have made a 2nd gilgamesh using genghis and gilgamesh, triggering gust Alexander to summon nighthowl. Then he can sync for 10 to make bright armageddon and all his monsters become untargetable.
Pretty sure he also just didn't play the good cards and instead had cerberus newton.
It also felt weird how he normal summoned Kepler and Used Slime to summon Nightown instead of doing the oppposite, or trying to get the scales ahead with Gilgamesh and trying to bait the handtrap by trying to make Siegfried soo they could actually summon Kepler and get some other contract
Idky, but I always have trouble playing around with Bright Armageddon. How does he work, because I do wanna use the 3 Super doom kings and he just feels so weird.
@@lennydickson8845 Bright Armaggedon Function is pretty simple, he's only there to protect from targeting effects, the other effect is WAAAAY to specific to be used, unless you have a way to give a pendulum monster to your opponent
@@lennydickson8845 you need to use any tuner other than Lamia to make it because there are no lvl 9 D/D/D monsters. Alternatively you could use Berfomet to turn Lamia into any level, but Berfomet is a one-of *at best*. I recommend summoning ghost from the deck using halqifibrax or running some nighthowls to summon a lvl 7 d/d/d from GY.
I legit only like DDD bc the anime character was neat and the names of the extra deck cards are fucking hilarious.

Bruh i just been playing for 10 hours and i builded PK, purely pack opening and crafting away the URs ans SRs i don't need to make the cards i actually need, it was fun, and after a couple duels i got the handtraps that i lacked, but being honest it's just triple Maxx and Lighting, so yeah, this game it's extremely F2P friendly and i like that

@@zefile agree. with how easy SR material are to get, there's no excuse for needing the pack to be around indefinitely. It even helps with the "find secret packs" quest for more gems.
@@abaki4115 you can craft any SR from the pack that you want and it’ll unlock the pack for 24 hours. So you can essentially have access to any pack whenever you need it

It’s genuinely funny how the second you hit Gold everyone has triple Nib, Ash, Veiler and Maxx C or they’re the occasional Duel Links Blue Eyes gamer. There is no in-between.

I've bumped into some non meta players like myself but yeah, it's been like 80% meta hell, 15% casual/rogue, 5% someone who managed to bumble into gold with the synchro structure deck because they always have the one Ash in hand

Using sigfried to turn off your own summon limit is the best play
its why control D/D is pretty cool, you can turn off not only summon limit but also imperial order on your own turn

I guess the whole point could be summoning Siegfried (and/or Makina once it comes out) and benefit for the constant resource generation provided by Kepler & Gate (A bit like Core+Emergency for Cydra control) but that's how far I can go myself, don't know the combos or how the deck should be built and such. So a bit of a insight would be greatly apreciated ^^.
Fear not, the new DD support now ignores your opponets ash. Actually, it probably hurts more to get Ogre'd.

I've played DDD in the past and it's sad to see people dog on the deck when it's so cool. It's not a hard deck per say to get the same 3 starters in hand, it's hard to memorize all the different steps. Tho it's very easy once you've done it a couple of times since there's one you usually follow and then go from there. It's just that players opt to use subpar support in their decks for some reason and do random combos.
I've fought several good D/D/D players in the past, building terrifying boards through 1/2 handtraps, having so many combos you never know for sure when to interact.
For some reason, all I encounter now are people doing Alexander Genghis pass or scooping after I chose to take Kepler when they activate the level 1 searcher spell.
@@KeertikaAndFallenTree I think the good DDD players took a break.. there was this guy "DDDAVE". You can find his deck profile on teamsamx1's channel. He had like a group/community dedicated to finding the best DDD combo-lines. Idk if he's still around but if he isn't then it's a big chance it's the reason.

To be fair, he might've been really new to the deck and wasn't used to playing it. D/D/Ds aren't a bad deck, they just need a good pilot. Besides, D/D/Ds don't have their support in here just yet that basically would've said "Lol no" with their field spell if I'm not mistaken.

No amount of skill can help you fix the succeptibility to high impact hand traps, lack of capability to beat established boards or bad meta matchups, not to mention a fairly low ceiling for such a high investment combo deck. If it really was good it would have seen at least some success in tournament play in the last 4 years dont you think?

Never played yugioh but jumped in with master duel. I had followed the game for a while however never played the game. The game is amazing and everything makes sense. Super excited to explore the game more.

i thought since the game is still new that there would be a chance to have some fun casual games in the low ranks...
made a bujin deck thinking "how bad could it be? its the beginner rank" but from the first game on everything is drytron or heralds.
having to play around link climb spam and endless omni negates is exactly the reason why i dont play against people.
only had one game against a bricking blue eyes deck which was the only moment i had even remotely fun in this game.
uninstalled today after about 10 hours of playing.
They really need to allow you to get gems from casual games

@@uteriel282 I am pretty much in the same boat. I still have not uninstalled - considering it - but I still have some PvE content to play through, so I guess I will do that throughout the next few days.
But yeah, ranked is hopeless. With my Traptrix deck I had a close game against an Archfiend deck (misplayed and lost - I should have used my Ash Blossom to sync up) and won two more against other casual decks.
However... I did manage to scrape the resources together for a higher tier deck plus handtraps, so even if I have no clue how to play it, I can look things up in the next few days and see what I can do with it.
Still, I prefer older formats and casual games, after all, there is a casual gamemode where I can meme around without being required to run half a dozen handtraps and who knows what else.

semi-casual player here. I built d/d/d as my first master duels deck purely because i think it's kind of neat and it can work with mostly in-archetype cards, so i dont have to whale out for staples yet. it says something that a deck seemingly built on extending forever is 9/10 times better off making gilgamesh and setting dark contract with the eternal darkness and passing.

As a D/D/D player I've beaten all the top decks in master duel, saying it's a bad deck because you played a bad player can be said for anyone who plays a deck they do not understand. For example Yamiblood is pure D/D/D player who has hit plat 1 with it.
Friendship ended with Ash Blossom. _CAR_ is my new bestie.

Gotta agree. I played against the deck and took the maxx c challenge. Set up a 2neg board and pop with pendulum, and I lost not because of the insane amount of extensions, but because their last card was upstart into reborn, which let them go into the rank 8 that wins the game

You can do this same style of arguing to make any deck look bad. Just get a bad enough player and a deck that uses the packfiller commons of an archetype instead of actual good cards.
Is DDD amazing? No but that guy couldve at least made 3+ negates if he had any experience with it, he didn't even attempt to set up interactions.

No seriously there are DDD combos that can play through Nibiru and other handtraps they are just not on this spreadsheets.
It is quite a hard to master deck but it is not that rewarding since you can not really play through more then 1 handtrap.
But yes most DDD players are like: "Oh I have an IQ of 170 what deck do I play? Of course DDD there is no other deck that could challange my genius except for DDD. Now where is my spreadsheets again? You have Ash? Common such a low IQ card. Why are my random DD cards that I put into my deck not on my spreadsheet? Ah well who needs interruptions anyway? Only the truest geniuses play the deck like this."

DDD is not for everyone. I know its very difficult deck. But if you play it right every deck can loose to it. And wait until DDD will get machinex griphon and the other cards.

I'm not good at D/D but I just like playing the deck, its fun for me to play knowing full damn well that it always loses to ash blossom despite it still being able to play through it lol. The only good D/D player was Elijah Green during that one farfa tournament

DDD has good cards but it locks itself to the archetype through most of the plays
that's through gilgamesh when at that point you've already commited to summoning non ddd stuff so it doesn't matter

Heya MBT. I just had an awesome duel on Master Duel using a Hero deck and I destroyed an Invoked player. I went first, kinda bricked, so normal summon Shadow Mist, set Mask Change, pass. Their turn. They activate Meltdown, normal summon Aleister, use Invocation using an Aleister in hand to summon Shaddoll Winda, link both of them off for a Verte, and on Verte's summon, I activate Mask Change and summon Dark Law, stopping them from activating Verte's effect. They set a back row and passed. My Turn. Then activate Dogmatika Punishment targeting my Dark Law. The monster was banished, so it resolved without effect lol. I proceed to OTK them with Dark Law, Brave Neos, Stratos, and all 3 at link points to a Dread Decimater. I also think I activated an Honest Neos for overkill lol.
The crafting system is awesome

I picked up DDD with the structure deck before MR4 and i saw the potential in it but that was way back then. The deck just doesn’t do enough aside from puking out monsters like its the only thing that matters. Its a also a fragile combo. It can still surprise people but id rather play a pure OTK deck for surprise fun

I’m SHOCKED at how one-sided Yugioh has become.. I tried out Master Duel as an old school player. In ranked duels you are forced to play with the latest cards and meta decks. It's no longer a duel between two players but only with yourself. Just a while ago I was defeated in the first turn without even taking a turn. I just get to watch for 10 minutes what absurd cards my opponent summons in one turn.
Everything that came after Synchro was too much for my friends and me. Please Give us the ability to play tournaments and ranked duels in Master Duel where only cards up to certain generations can be used (First Gen, GX, 5Ds,...). That would be awesome! Spread the word Guys!
It’s not really one sided it’s just interaction has changed. Instead of trap cards and quick play cards being the main way to interrupt your opponents it’s hand traps and going second cards. It’s the same basic concept just shifted
Check out duel links if you want a simplified game of yugioh. Only having 3 zones sounds horrible at first; but you might prefer the less options and no MP2. Also it emphasizes that anime decks are meta, so the ladder is just absolutely littered with dark magician and blue eyes players.
You know if you play the "absurd" cards then the game is balanced...

You probably just aren't aware of whats going on. Handtraps exist for a reason and the amount of skill expression in yugioh is at an insanely high point compared to old pre extra deck summoning formats.

I don't play D/D/D but I'm struggling to understand your dislike towards the players? is it because they're not playing competition level decks? Do you think Master duel is a competitive game, equivalent to worlds?
I'm not trying to argue or be funny, I'm genuinely curious. I've always seen this game as more the equivalent of going to play some games at your local card shop and using whatever you made on budget, then anything really competitive.
I mean Christ I made an orichalcos ritual deck to play with friends, I never got the 'this is a competition' vibe from this game, which is why your reaction here intrigues me.
