I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, modelers today don’t know how good they have it with kits like this. Detail that on old 1/35th kits would be amorphous blobs or just absent are now recognizably accurate, things that we used to have to cut away and scratchbuild replacements for are now either on the sprues or available as accessory kits, and let’s not even talk about the incredible range of paints available, incredible to those of us who grew up with nothing but Testor’s enamels.
And photoetch. The things photoetch can do. 3D printed instrument panels for fighter planes. Heck, 3D printers that can make parts from blueprints exactly to scale.
Great build Andy. Even with all the modern advantages it takes sharp eyes, steady hands and near infinite patience. You’re a great ambassador for the modeling hobby.
What an amazing kit. I’m not an armor builder, but the detail on this kit is calling on me.👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for fixing this problem your work on this kit is too good to miss any of it.
Just got mine a few days ago. Opened it up and realized the long delayed expansion of my workspace couldn't be delayed any more! So I'll get my workspace in order and get started on this great kit. First time ordering from you and it was an awesome experience. Thanks Andy.
That is one very detailed model kit. You did a great job on that kit
Great kit! Detailed great, but i ve rebuild front suspension moveable parts by drilling small holes and put there small cooper wire pins, did same on the back starting with second tor bar from both sides stab. Just Guys use some drill and cut little cooper or other wires, will be full solid construction !
Beautiful detail work on an amazing kit, Andy. Looking forward to Pt. II.
Eagerly looking forward to Part 2! This build guide was handy
Thank you, Andy. I can't wait to get started. A kit with this much detail just begs to have more detail added.
Thank you for the video! Its a beautiful kit!
Building this right now, and it's an amazing kit. Can't wait for part 2, this was very handy.
Very cool to see the process!
Great job Andy! What a fantastic kit.Never built A 1/16 kit before, that's about to change.
Cheers Andy.
Absolutely LOVE the interior and linkages at 1/16 scale. Will have to pick this one up when I'm done with the Tiger! Thanks Andy! Keep them coming!
Great job Andy. It looks fantastic.
Looks like a GREAT kit!!!!!!!!!! 👍👍
Thanks for the re-upload. This kit looks amazing!
Stunning kit and nice job Andy👌
Amazing looking kit can’t wait to get mine
Great looking kit. I really enjoy it when you find the time to do a build video. Really looking forward to seeing it completed .
Great build, Andy, and thanks for the assembly tips! My thoughts run wild with diorama possibilities with all that detail inside.
Take two, was a pleasure to watch, especially since you found the last 6-7 minutes, Andy you are one of the true masters of this hoddy andva true inspiration to us all, if only I could purchase from your web site, best regards from Australia 👍👍👍👍👍
Happy Birthday Andy! Fantastic work on a great looking kit!
I have several 1/35 full interior tank and half tracks to build...nice to Ser all the detail in 1/16 ..many painting ideas .😀😀😎😎😁😁
Absolutely exquisite sir! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY!🎉
Appreciate all the work you out into these build videos, from a fan on the other side of the pond...... I certainly know what Santa will be delivering this Christmas.
Great work!!
Great video Andy, keep em coming, I'll keep watching
Outstanding video and presentation.
Great kit!
Muy bonito kit y muy completo, felicitacion gran trabajo
Great job Andy
Excellent choice 😊
Looks to be a great kit and an excellent job on building and painting. I am building the 1/16 Trumpeter kit of the Ausf D and they both have same problem. The D version never had the rear shock absorber, this had been dropped already in 1942.
That is super cool.
Thanks for the build video's - found this very useful. After seeing this I went out and purchased this model. Started on the engine and found the radiator join lines needed some attention but looks like a very good kit. Figures - I see from your channel that SOL have brought some stuff out, including figures. I think what we need in terms of figures are some more 'casual ' figures that allow some of the detail to be shown e.g. someone working on the engine/doing repairs , soldiers 'hanging around' , smoking, eating food etc. Thanks
Would be a great reference to do a 1/35th scale half track what a beautiful kit!
Thank you.
Thought the other one ended a bit abruptly!! Looking very nice 👍
Did think last one was strange ending ,good work sir 👍.
Wow, definatally displayig mine opened up as much as possible.
Happy Birthday 🎉
Wow 😮
Шикарный обзор и сборка. Постоянно смотрю Вас. Жаль что в Россию доставки нет.
A couple easy things to add are the fuel line, and the battery cables.
Pretty cool kit, nice and big for an 'ol shaky hand. I checked the price and even on a fixed income it looks affordable.
Andy, is there a chance that you've heard that there ls a 1/16 Hetzer being thought of by takom/das werk?
So detailed! They should also produce wwi biplanes now Wingnuts has gone.
I’m surprised they didn’t make working pistons. Excellent detail.
😂
Yuppee.. 😊🎉❤
Good old S&J!
Хороший проект с чертежами. Осталось увеличить масштаб.Взять листы металла сварку и резку и сделать масштабную реплику.
Szuper
You have more talent in your little finger than I do in my entire body....
Great work! Seems like a great and challenging build. How do you glue parts that you painted?
i would like to know this as well.
Part 2 soon?
I am a huge fan of the 1/16 scale kits , that being said will there be a 1/16 GMC CCKW Deuce and 1/2 ? With the M-10 will there be early M-4 Sherman or Pacific Theater Shermans , or possibly M-7 Priest , Schwimwagen, Sdkfz 7 , Famo , how about a Vomag 😁😁 I love them keep them coming !!!!
Looks amazing and still going to get it but hearing so much about the idlers, tracks and the mg42s ment to be real bad? I've been asked to 3D print a good few for people already
I can do all these steps and substitute the yellow/sand for Panzer Grey, correct?
Just a query for Andy and others who may be in mid-build. Did you wind up fixing the swing arms in place? I'm finding the kit is too heavy to allow for a fully working suspension
I've been staying tuned.......where are the more videos coming? I'm all strung out....need a build 'fix' for God sake. Gimme an 8-ball amount of video at least...some painting or weathering would be nice. Just a hit!
When can we expect part two? It's been two weeks since part one was posted. 😊 Not that we're rushing you or anything. 😅
Where can buy this kit?
I was wondering if you could do another warhammer 40k vehicle. Maybe a Rogal Dorn tank or a baneblade
How soon are 251/21 etc. versions coming?
When are we going to see part 2.
Colors are wrong in instruction book for the differential and transmission.
Sonder Kampf Zeug = Special fighting vehicle. Great kit. Now, how can I make one of these Ausf. C? Ausfurung, Ausf. = version
@bslturtle. Sd.-Kfz means Sonderkraftfahrzeug , and not Sonderkampfzeug they name the Tanks even today SD.-Kfz. Nr. XXX Leopard 2
It's been three weeks, are you going to put out another video?
Will there be a Sd.Kfz.250 Neu in 1/16, in the future?
Shock absorber on the rear torsion bar is NOT correct for a D model. This was omitted in the late C model. Also, the bump stops were mostly eliminated in 1943. They dropped these to only 3 in total. Das Werk did a mish-mash of of C model and D model parts to make this, which is not correct for the kit.
😂😂😂😂😂…..you’re obviously a very dull little man….
Fixed the glitch, huh.
One? I got two! One for Eastern Front and one for Africa
This model builds the Ausf.D ( "version D" ). It's very different in shape to the earlier versions. I think it was introduced too late for Africa.
@@daveybyrden3936 Absolutely correct.. Afrika Korps surrendered in 1943, the same year the Ausf D was starting manufacturing... Now that I feel like a fool, it's time to make one of them maybe Western front... Hopefully, we get to see an Ausf A eventually in 1/16. A 250/1 would be nice, maybe one of the myriad modifications. However, I may have to try to retrograde modify this one to satisfy my longing to have a support vehicle for my AK Tiger 1, Panzer 1s and panzer 2s.
What you call a "filter canister" looks more like a part of the exhaust pipe for me, so it could be a bit rusty or burned
No, that's definitely intake pipe.

Building the trumpeter version while I wait for mine to arrive (UK so later than you US guys) Watching this makes me realise how poor the Trumpeter version is. Cant wait for the DW kit to hit my bench. Awesome work showing us how it goes too Andy.
Andy, what brand and model is your airbrush?
Iwata Hpcs
@@AndysHobbyHeadquarters thanks.
4:29, where is the Mozart music ;-)
Is this the only scale you are interested in modelling know?
😂😂😂 I did wonder....😂😂😂
does anyone make this in RC version?
How much of the detail will become permanently hidden?
Depends how much you choose to hide :)
A 251 in 1/16 is just about as rare as the 1-1. Now if that 1/16 was also an RC...we are talking hens teeth levels of rarity
Treat it with more respect! And use real colors!!
Charge on Andy , thank you !!!
