- The section from Linthal to Urnerboden on the Via Alpina (Green Trail) is one of the most picturesque stages, offering a journey through the stunning Swiss mountain landscape. This route, part of the longer Via Alpina trail, showcases breathtaking scenery, traditional villages, and a variety of natural wonders.
The hike begins in Linthal, a charming village in the canton of Glarus. From here, the trail leads through lush green meadows and dense forests, soon reaching the first highlight of the hike: the idyllic Braunwald. Braunwald is a car-free mountain village accessible only by funicular railway. It is renowned for its fresh mountain air, expansive panoramic views, and friendly locals. From Braunwald, you have a stunning view of the surrounding peaks, including the mighty Tödi.
The trail continues over Nussbüel, another beautiful spot offering breathtaking views of the mountains. Here, you can often spot marmots living in the rocky meadows. The route then takes you through alpine landscapes, past crystal-clear streams, and through lush pastures until you finally reach Urnerboden, the largest alp area in Switzerland.
Urnerboden, situated at an altitude of about 1370 meters, is a true natural gem. This vast high valley is surrounded by towering mountains, offering spectacular views. Here, you encounter traditional alpine huts and can experience local cheese production up close. Urnerboden is famous for its alpine cheese, made using traditional methods and a culinary highlight of the region.
Throughout this hike, you will experience the changing alpine flora and fauna that varies with altitude. Especially in spring and summer, the meadows burst into a sea of wildflowers, and it's not uncommon to encounter rare alpine flowers and butterflies.
The weather in this region can change quickly, especially at higher elevations, so it's advisable to be well-prepared. While the hike is not technically very difficult, it requires good basic fitness and endurance due to some steep ascents and descents.
In summary, the section from Linthal to Urnerboden on the Via Alpina (Green Trail) offers a wonderful mix of nature, culture, and adventure. It is a hike that will delight both experienced hikers and nature lovers, providing a deep insight into the beauty and diversity of the Swiss Alps.

How do you determine to say "GO" as you check the weather? The weather in the mountains is unpredictable sometimes. I guess it is not a big deal in the summer???

Hoi Pascal, aha, es hat doch noch geklappt. Du hast die Schlechtwetterlücke benützt und bist eine weitere Etappe gewandert. Dazu gratuliere ich dir. Die Aufnahmen wie immer sehr schön. Auf meiner Warteliste ist diese Etappe auch noch, allerdings etwas gekürzt. Ich beginne die Wanderung oben in Braunwald. Ich war mal auf der anderen Seite des Urnerbodens unterwegs, über den Fisetengrat. LG Hanspeter
Ja da kannst du mit gutem Gewissen ab Braunwald Wandern! Ab 80 Jahren darf man die Gondeln und Zahnradbahnen benützen😉 danke!
Schönes Video Pascal. Der Urner Boden war einer meiner Lieblingsstellen der ganzen Via Alpina. Und der Aufstieg nach Braunwald habe ich mit der Bahn gemacht, da mir alle dazu empfohlen haben (es würde sich nicht lohnen). Jetzt hast du also neben Liechtenstein noch ein 2. Stück, dass ich nicht gewandert bin. Grüsse aus Sardinien, Benjamin

@@swisshikerontour Danke Pascal. Ja, die Gondel in Elm habe ich auch genommen. Einmal runter und ein paar Tage später wieder rauf. Ich fühlte mich am ersten Tag nicht so gut und habe darum angebrochen und den Rest auf später verlegt.

Wie findest du die Aufnahmequalität?
Ich habe mich nach längerer Recherche, für die Lumix gh5 ii entschieden. Hi und da filme ich auch noch mit der gopro9.
@@swisshikerontour danke Pascal, ich finde die Qualität sehr gut und für youtube vollkommen ausreichend.
Ich habe als Kamera auch eine Lumix, bin aber nicht zufrieden, werde nach dem Uralub wieder auf Sony zurückgehen. Gopro Hero 12 habe ich mal ausprobiert, mich stört, dass man zum laden der Filme ein Abo abschließen muss, wenn man nicht aufwändige Umwege gehen will.
Meine nächsten Etappen auf der Via Alpina werden erst im August nach meiner Norwegen Wanderung erfolgen.

@@mo6451 ok. Vielleicht gibt es ja Ubterschiede bei den Lumix Kameras. Genial finde ich, dass die Kamera nicht überhitzt. Aber jeder hat da seine Präferenzen😊 wünsche dir eine sehr gute Zeit!
