- Akira Kurosawa is one of the most important figures in the history of cinema. And I believe his influence will continue to occupy the industry for as long as it exists. There are few - if any - filmmakers to have created more than one film that could be called the greatest. And he's got at least half a dozen.
Here's 20 scenes from his filmography that i believe are perfect.

I don't quite agree about the fight scene in Redbeard. People were assuming he might be a pushover because of his profession, but he demonstrates that he's not, which inspires the confidence the other characters and the audience have in the character moving forward.
Truly one of the greatest cinima directors.
Phenomenal list of the prefect movie scenes from Akira Kurosawa movies I found it very intriguing.
Throne of Blood.
The scene where the bog witch disappears and they walk forward through the little stick box house... I recorded and saved that scene to my computer just to show people.
Also the end with the arrows is amazing.

It's amazing how scenes were done like that, back when special effects were just camera tricks.
I think it's very relatable what you said about Kurosawa and leaving behind a legacy. Just as Samurai believed we all must die, make the most of every day. We only have one life. If we can look back during our final moments and not have regrets it's all anyone could ever ask for.
That's what it's all about!
The most beautiful video I've seen this year, so far. Great analysis and insight into both Kurasawa and Blues.
I appreciate that!! Thank you!!
what a blessed day this has been that i have discovered such a great channel!
Thank you! I appreciate that!!
Even though it was one of his weaker films, I love dodeskaden, especially Takemitsu Toru’s score!
I personally approve of this video.
The man himself!
Aren't you Dead?
Seven Samurai is the best film I've ever seen.
Sanjurō in Yojimbō & Sanjurō is my absolute favorite fictional character on top of Zatōichi Meets Yojimbō
Throne of blood, when both generals march with the flags on their back between the torches.
On a good oled tv, the scene is so visually perfect
Great scene!
gorgeous work!
The thing that I think is a testament to Kurosawa is that you left so many impactful scenes out! ! Even though you nailed the big ones, there are so much more that you could’ve put on because of how versatile he is as a director. Couldn’t watch half of them because I’m currently at High and Low in my watch, but I’m excited knowing that his post-Mifune work is as goated as his Mifune work.
Oh I could easily mention 100!
This was awesome thanks for this
Thanks for watching it!
I suppose every director has a Dodeskaden or two lurking in his career. One of the greatest challenges of an esteemed director is to resist the temptation to make fluff that can be identified as such.
Well done.
Thanks!
I know I must of said this before but thank you and for your videos I’m on a mission to collect every single one of his movies and every time you talk about him I appreciate him even more I even named my dog Akira because of him and the anime 😅 now I feel like watching Ran now
Thanks for watching my kids and for being a fellow Kurosawa fan! Great name for a dog BTW haha!
Kurosawa was great film 📽️ director
Fantastic video. I agree with number one since I watched all of Kurosawa's films in a 3 month time frame and fell in love. I ended the watch with the film you chose for number one.
Also am I the only one that likes Dodes-ka-den? Sure it's not my favorite of his, but I think it's a good film.
I mean, it's definitely a unique film, I can see why someone would like it. What did you like about it?
@@bushidoblues9302 I liked that it was a character piece, and it just focused on these characters living their lives and facing obstacles. I think it feels like an improved version of The Lower Depths, but I feel The Lower Depths might have more re-watch value behind it because the ending to that film is brilliant.
