S.H.Figuarts Dragon ball Z SSJ2 Son Goku was released on July 21st as one the 2022 SDCC exclusives and retails for 70 USD.
As all of you are aware, SSJ2 Goku along with the other event exclusives were made available only to those who attended SDCC and later on through pre order on the Premium Bandai US website.
Preorders for all 4 Dragon Ball releases have now closed and will ship out March 2023.

You're so lucky for getting this figure early! Definitely agree with you when you say this should've been a regular release, considering it's a different transformation for Goku that's iconic. I think there will be a regular release for ssj2 goku in the future without battle damage and aura.
I just pre ordered mine via BBTS. Looks like a great figure! The price isn't looking so great though, especially with how great Gohan is for so much less
BBTS will have to upcharge for it being an import, original price was $70 plus coming with the effect piece.
That price hike is due to this being a con exclusive figure. Gohan was a general release.

@@DammitEthan yes and no. They are, as the name implies, exclusive. Less are made of them and they won't be rereleased in the future. That exclusivity is the justification for the higher price.

I luckily had a friend that attended SDCC, and was able to get me Goku. I'm so glad it worked out cuz I really so enjoy the figure as well, it could have been better in places, but overall is very solid and very worth getting in my opinion.
This was inspired by both Yamamuro and Masunagas renditions of ssj2 goku.
Yep, the shape of the hair is very Studio Cockpit-like, the same goes for the smirking face sculpt
Super excited to get this one! Like you said I wish the effect pieces would’ve attached to the fig and not the aurora, that kinda sucks. I would like to say the qc was better. But mine broke from barely falling, easy enough fix but man it was tragic

Great figure as always my man! About the ab mod, maybe a video guide would be better? I’d definitely want to try it, but I wouldn’t want to end up snipping off the wrong thing, haha! 😅

When a figure, or spot on a figure(like the face)looks so good, and so show accurate, that it looks like it stepped right out of the show.

Looks pretty good especially with the amazing faces but being SDCC exclusive any import would really expensive shipping wise and I'm personally done with orange gi adult Gokus in my collection so he's a skip.

the final product is actually closer to the pale yellow than the promo images imo. The promo images looked more the regular yellow

Bit of a monkeys paw for me, I finally get the pale yellow I wanted.. but it's a metallic and convention exclusive (for now). The sculpt is awesome though..

If the only difference is the bangs piece and chest i really feel like full power super saiyan goku couldve included a few more faces and the alternate bangs. Maybe even 2 hair/head pieces like scouter vegeta did.
I really want this figure but this feels like parcelling out accessories to make me buy more needlessly. I really wish he had a new kamehameha wave effect over an aura backdrop. Hopefully the halo port hole is well hidden when not in use, im still annoyed the namek final form frieza has a hole in his head that has no swappable parts to hide it.
Just ordered this one off of BBTS, price is not amazing BUT he looks really awesome!

With that Super Saiyan Goku head that was thirty dollars I didn’t look right on any of the other gokus bodies But the exclusive head just looks right

It's not a figure that hasn't been made, but I really want a new teen Gohan with anime colors and a ssj2 effect piece. Maybe even a Kamehameha.

I love the figure my only criticism is the long neck. I just swapped it with a spare broly blue Goku figure I had. Other wise it’s spectacular and the aura is perfect for a father son kamehameha pose
That is very true, and I thought it was only mine but I guess it’s wide spread. I tried pushing it down thinking the neck just didn’t sit properly on the torso but thanks for pointing that out!

This guy as a figure really does feel like a consequence of how bad premium bandai is. He looks great, comes with great accessories and face changes but with premium bandai’s higher than normal prices and the costs for shipping and handling it’s just hard to spend that much for another goku
Especially it being a 2.0 and how we see that the line is starting to move on to the 3.0 bodies
