They are both afraid. Gibbs believed everyone he ever loved dies; Shannon and Kelly, Diane, Mike Franks. It was why he broke up with Hollis. He thought it happened again with Ziva, but Ziva wasn't dead. That changes the whole dynamic for Gibbs. Shannon and Diane's ghosts have both told him he needs to move on. His shrink, who would be a likely candidate if she wasn't his doctor, has told Gibbs the same thing. Now Gibbs has to accept the fact. He is very close to Jack. He's shared more about his life with her than anyone, even the doctor. There is a verbal closeness and intimacy there that neither shows to the other team members. The Christmas kiss and hug were so natural, even more than his affection for Ziva and Abby. Jack is afraid that he won't warm to her. (The very worst thing the writers could do is kill Jack. Give Gibbs some happiness in his life.) I agree with what someone said previously; I think they will come together before the end of the season, maybe even by the Christmas episode when Ziva comes back again. One other thing: The mandatory retirement age for federal law enforcement officers is 57, or 60 under "special circumstances." Mark Harmon is 68. Could this be the way Mark (and Maria) leave the series?
Well in this past Tuesday's episode,there are new characters...Gibbs has a new neighbor,and She the Mom and son are new to Gibbs...He has children in his past...Also they had a new guest start join for one segment...shes on The Bold and Beautiful...I think..she was great...I still feel that Jack is over done....she may be a great actress, she not consistent in this part the chemistry will not hold any beating for Gibbs...he can do better....sorry....

Who knows, that would be a great way for Mark Harmon to leave the series. Who knows, maybe Dinnozzo comes back to lead the team as he did when Gibbs "retired". And that he eventually persuades Ziva to come back too. But I think it is more likely that Jack Sloane gets killed and that because of this Gibbs also gets eventually killed to save his team, which causes the old members of the team to come back and take revenge for Gibbs and them forming a new team... or something haha

Mark and Maria have great chemistry. Gibbs and Jack look at each other like Tony and Ziva did. It will happen this season for sure. I have this thought that in Episode 1 of Season 17, if Ziva says Gibbs is in danger and says they neex to leave, he tells her they have to go and get Sloane because he can't leave her or when it is all over, Sloane runs into Gibbs' arms and he kisses her and says he loves her.
You should get in on the writers team, I would like to see that for sure :D
But I actually feel like we're getting closer now too, Maria said something in an interview as well, makes me hope :)

I never miss an episode of NCIS and yet I cant remember 80% of these scenes. I think I probably tune out Maria Bello when I watch NCIS. Not happy nor convinced about a relationship between these two. It's nuts!!!
Opinions vary, I stopped watching Ncis at some point actually and started again when I heard Maria would join because I like her that much :)

Maybe, at first, neither dared to say they loved each other, because the knew the results would be catastrophic for both of them. Maybe they both need to get to a place where they can openly express their love.

Jack was beating the snot out of the bad guy. Bad guy was responsible for Jack's friend dying.Gibbs had trouble restraining her. I thought Gibbs should have turned her loose on him...

I have watch "Jack" really work very hard to win the affections of Gobbs, its not going to work... Gibbs needs some time.....Its going to take a very special Lady to not replace his wife and daughter..... have to see
Admittedly Jellie is my main OTP but if Jack ends up happy I'm happy, I ship Slibbs anyways because I highly doubt Jellie will ever happen.

Yep, I started shipping them after Date With Destiny because Ellie is really overprotective and it's adorable, also Izzy is a factor in Jack's life now and I'm one of those people that refuse to believe that was just a friendship.

That's actually such an interesting thought! I'm hella gay and I have a problem with shipping gay couples who will never become a thing so I actually kinda like the idea of Jack and Ellie if Jack and Gibbs didn't work out. Never thought I'd say this but I prefer my Slibbs babies. Never thought my favorite couple would be a straight one haha.

I do not think they fit together at all. I think he had a deeper relationship with Colonel Mann.
However, I think the writers will set it up, that somehow Jack and Gibbs hooked up in the past, which created Jack’s daughter who she gave up for adoption.
I think a renewed relationship seems forced. As I also think a relationship between Bishop and Torres seems to be forced.
Ken Martin they’ve already showed them meeting for the first time, at Gibbs place. Gibbs had chemistry with Hollis, Jenny, & Diane but nothing with Jack. They are better as friends. Tony & Ziva were the only other pairing that worked. Abby & McGee had zero chemistry. More like siblings. Torres & Bishop don’t work either.

This show needs to go away. Stories are weak and predictable, acting by some cast members is questionable, scripts are silly for the most part. Sad, it was always a favorite. Time to move on.
