In this video, I attempt to beat Plants vs. Zombies 2 with only ONE seed slot. This is the first video of a two part series where I will explore the whole game with only one seed slot. Can I beat the game or, if not, how much of the game is possible? In this series, you will find out.

Just to clear up a little bit of confusion-
In this video I tried to beat the game with one seed slot.
I will be making a sequel video in the future where I play every level in the game that I skipped in this one (so, for Pirate Seas, in the next video I will pick up from where I left off after day 8 and play the rest of the levels to see which ones are possible).
I feel like if I skip the levels that are impossible, there will be many more levels that are possible that I didn't get to play in this 'run'.
Also, I have made a playlist on the channel that will feature unedited footage of some of the more notable/difficult levels of the challenge.
UPDATE - I beat Pirate Seas Day 8 and A LOT of levels after. I'm excited to show you the next video :D

For the Pirate Seas level couldn't you out 3 snapdragons in the back middle 3 lanes, and then have the other 3 in front of it?
That would still cover the outermost layers and do more damage in the middle?
Could you not have gone back to earlier worlds with plants you unlocked in later worlds to try and get more plants and/or maybe beat the world? I know sometimes you were stopped by a conveyer belt level but still you could maybe have gotten a few more plants to make it a few levels further
I think that might hurt the integrity of the challenge slightly if not a little more but it does sound like a possible idea to push the challenge a little further.

I always thought that using only one seed slot in conveyor belt level means you can only use whatever plant you've got on the very top.
Maybe that'll make the challenge easier?
That would make the challenge barely different from the base game.

@@justafurrywithinternet317 honestly it wouldnt be too out there to skip conveyor belt levels entirely as they kind of go against the idea of the challenge
That’s literally already the meta for the PvZ 2 conveyor levels. The conveyor belt levels in pvz2 slow down the conveyor dramatically if even a single seed is not already planted, so beating them relies on planting things immediately

If the challenge ends up being impossible (which it most likely will tbh) i would be interested in seeing how much farther you can go if you dont do the challenge for levels that force you into using specific plants. Probably not that much farther, but you never know.
100% yes it is impossible especially when i believe cactus chomps and grapeshot gem plants/pay plants which makes those convayer levels impossible since i believe one didnt give another offensive plant.

Pvz youtubers complaining that playing a game in a way that it was never designed to be played in is impossible:
and thats why shyguymask's 2 seed slot pvz challenge video was good. it didnt have to put goofy restrictions or nerfs because scenarios like produce x amount of sun to complete. you skip all of them it ruins the challenge. and a challenge is deemed impossible or possible. not being a coward and skipping them
You can theoretically beat the pirate level. You need to put snap dragons in a closed square bracket ]. With that, you will have much more damage in every lane
But that requires 7

Unfortunately, the Almanac glitch no longer works. They replaced the "show on map" button with "find more," which just tells you where you unlock it.

You could argue convertor belt levels don't count because its not seed SLOTS, it's just seeds on a conveyor.

also, dynamic difficulty would make this a lot easier considering you can abuse it to spawn significantly less zombies, but idk what platform you play on. great video regardless

If you place a plant on a tile where the shovel hitbox is in front of it but the Excavator itself is in the tile, the Excavator will eat it.

For the frostbite caves, couldn’t you have used hurricane to stal all the zombies and then use the lawn mower to kill them all at once?

i actually beated pvz2 with 1 seed slot using plants unlocked in adventure mode but my plants were max level so...
edit:wild west day 35 was the hardest level

9:20 The level is actually beatable with one send slot it's just extremely insane. You have to spam spikeweed on the top lane and use plant food to drag the zombies away from the lawnmower and when all of the last flag zombies are on the top lane, just let the lawnmower take them out.
I beat the level by using hurricale stacking all the zombies together and have the lawn mower deal with them. But the timing is pretty tight since the zombies have to be a footstep away from the lawnmower so it doesn’t go off and you have time to get another hurricane

for frosbite caves day 3 I think the game always give 2 hurricale to the player so you could try to use it to stall all zombies in the first row until last wave, and let the mower go
Hurricala doesn’t do damage which means the waves won’t progress until like an hour
I was thinking that Primal potato mine might actually damage the gravestones in Dark ages, but idk if it will be useful

I'm a little confused.
In this video, you had to use a glitch to get to different worlds because you didn't have their keys yet, but when I played, I unlocked *all* the world keys at level six of Ancient Egypt. Is this normal?
in some versions u have to beat the worlds one by one (supposingly) and in older versions u get all the world keys after beating the gargantar lvl in ancient egypt or by beating day 8

You must've played an old version. In modern PvZ2 you need to play the worlds in order, getting the key for the next world after beating each world's zomboss battle.
Back in the day (I think from around 2016 - 2020) you would get all world keys after beating AE day 6.

fun fact: in older versions of the game it was possible to unlock different worlds glitchless
I have an account somewhere that still has all the worlds unlocked with like 2 of them being actually beaten
so you could theoretically downpatch to achieve the same result

For far future day 8, you should use Citron instead of laser bean, simply because he does more damage. Yes, I know he shoots slow but it could work.
I feel like conveyors should have been ruled the same way no build missions are ruled in starcraft runs: If you don’t get your tools the level doesn’t count.

1:10 That's a really good way to avoid making conveyor belts impossible, just apply whatever restriction only to seed slots, then conveyor levels work and so do pre-planted levels.

Did you try digging up and replacing the snapdragons on the pirate level after they took some damage from the seagulls? Digging up would not only fill up the reservations for 1 more snapdragon, but with the highest spawn probability, I doubt it would require much luck to quickly replace it with a new, healthy snapdragon.

After you learned how many levels can be beaten with only one seed slot at level 1, you should allow leveling (and maybe hack the game) to see if the impossible levels are truly as impossible as they seem.
Well high Level plants are basically unfairly op and will basically make every Level possible because he mentioned the guy beating the game one seed slot had like op leveled plants so it will make the Video idea kinda useless but would've been a nice idea.

Laser bean is a good plant to use in lost city against the parasol and the digging zombies due to pierce,so technically is you went back with laser bean you could get a lot more days completed

I'd also found out that PopCap should also fix the adventure mode:
Design changes
-Play Pirate Seas Day 3 Minigame should give you coins
-Do not force players to upgrade their plants or force them to buy seed packs
-Plants there should not be unlocked with seed packs (because that feels like cheating!)
World keys system
-Complete Ancient Egypt day 6 will give you a world key
-Complete Ancient Egypt day 25 will unlock all the worlds
The more plants there are on the conveyor at a time the slower they come. It would've been useful in lost city to but your stingers really far to the right and dig them up as fast as possible to maximize lava guavas.

Pvz2 nodeath. Any time a plant gets removed by any way, like potomine blows up, dig up a plant, exc.., you can't use that plant anymore
