  • As the audience settled into the night, Santoor player Kaviraj Singh and Tabla player Shahbaz Hussain presented a beautiful performance that left the audience mesmerised.
    Kaviraj Singh learnt his musical craft in Leeds, and has emerged as a unique, celebrated artist of his generation. Kaviraj has always strived to display the beauty and intricacy of one of India's finest instruments, the Santoor, as well as developing the style of his soulful and melodious voice. On this night, Kaviraj's main piece was in Raag Kaunsi Kanada, followed by a thumri in Raag Mishra Tilang.
    Shahbaz Hussain began playing Tabla with his father at the age of 5. He is known as an astounding tabla virtuoso of his generation.
