Saw him last night... Seriously, don't judge him on this performance. You NEED to see it live, his voice has improved massively and the sheer emotion that he puts into this song is awe inspiring. Seriously, go see this show, then judge his voice.
He was doubling up as Deco and rehearsing for Memphis when this was filmed (Deco is a very demanding role, all people who have played Deco have said the same). Like i been saying to everyone never judge a performer on what they see on You tube. Go and experience Killian live yourself!
Killians voice is amazing! I wish I was able to see him perform live :(. I loved him, fra, alistair and the other barricade boys in the les miserables movie. Too bad most of their talent wasn't used though, with the exception of Eddie and Aaron.
jennylvsshoes I agree. I've seen Chad on the DVD and Killian live. I thought Chad was good until I went to see Memphis in London. Killian blows him out of the water. His portrayal of Huey is phenomenal.
+jennylvsshoes Did you see Matt Cardle's depiction? I saw both Killian and Matt, I loved both and they both have a quirky charisma I feel really makes Huey a character we all come to love.
Thin voice? I've never heard anyone say that about Killian before... And I've also got to say, this was from before rehearsals had even started, I've heard many actors sing songs from their shows at this point before they've started, ad those recordings always sound pretty crap compared to how they sound once the show actually starts. I haven't see the show live yet (it only opened three days ago...) but I guarantee you he sounds so much better now.

I don't know if you have seen Memphis yet, but I've seen it three time up to now and Killian's performance of this song, and throughout the entire show, far surpasses the performance in the video above on so many levels. Every time I see him he just gets better and better. He was perfectly cast in this role :)
Oh HELL to the f*****g no. If anyone has ever heard this song and knows what it's supposed to mean and sound like, they'll know this is utter crap. He is adorable though.
You don't know what your talking about, this was for the press launch just to show everyone an insight into the songs and the general context of the show, they barely started rehearsals that time. Killian Donnelly is a very talented performer with a huge voice, he will be a brilliant Huey once it opens! You can't really judge until you've seen him in show......
I've now seen Killian in this show three times and this performance in the video above is nothing compared to what he does on stage every night. The only other Huey I can compare him to his Chad Kimball because I've seen the DVD and I much prefer Killian in the role for so many reasons. I encourage you to go and see the show live in London if you can because he is incredible in the role :)

saw the show saturday Killian was perfect as huey , i laughed and sobbed my way though the show .
