Highlife originated from and is the bedrock of Ghanaian music, even Fela the Nigerian legend travelled to Ghana in the 60’s when looking for a new musical direction. He called his style Afro beat, a combination/fusion of highlife, funk, jazz, salsa, calypso, and traditional Yoruba music.
Highlife has several subgenres such as borga, highlife and hiplife, the Godfather Reggie Rockstone created hiplife sound by merging traditional highlife with hip-hop and that’s where almost all Ghanaian rappers are descended from include Shatta in the early 2000’s.
The word Afro beats was coined in the UK during the early part of the 2010’s to cover more or less all the sounds coming from Africa, especially West Africa. Interestingly it was the Ghanaian sound Azonto that was very big and popular in the UK, when the Afro beats name was coined, but it seems Nigerians hijacked it partly because of how popular their music has grown and because of how related the name is to Fela's “Afro beat”, so its has become synonymous with Nigerian music.
Shatta’s real motive was to trend before the dropping of his singles/album and to disentangle, distance and disassociate Ghanaian music from Nigeria. Shatta and a few others have never been happy with the branding Ghanaian music as Afro beats, thus this whole “musical identity” drive. Arnold can see that “miles away” and also knows, the industry’s problems is not a lack of a unique genre…

She more often than not allows her guests talk over each other which I believe is unprofessional. She has to do a better job of determining who speaks at what time. In summary, I expect her to do a better job of handling her guests.
